I've been a DigiGal since the show first came out. While I liked PokeMon, Digimon was my favorite. I just enjoyed the characters, the digimon, the transformation scenes, the story, everything! Out of all the Digimon characters, Sora and Biyomon are my favorite cuz they're awesome. And my favorite digimon of all time is definitely Garudamon, Biyomon's Ultimate/Perfect form. She's just so cool!

And I could definitely relate to Matt and TK as my parents had gotten divorced a couple years before the show aired. Though luckily I wasn't separated from my little brother like they were. But it was nice seeing my favorite show tackle subjects like that.

I've watched every season except 6. I tried watching the first episode, but I guess I didn't care for it much. And Data Squad/Season 5 was alright. But I love the first 4 seasons more. And Season 1 will always be my favorite!

And I'm so excited for Digimon Adventure tri. The Digidestined are back, and in high school! It takes place 3 years after Adventure 02, but before the epilogue. I can't wait to see Taichi, Yamato, Sora, and the rest of the gang and their Digimon again! And it comes out this Spring, which is when MLP Season 5 comes out! So I've got 2 cool shows to look forward to this Spring! It's gonna be awesome! :D

Garudamon is awesome, WING BLADE! :D

I have a similar connection regarding TK and Matt, unfortunately we are also separated. Season 1 is my favourite too, I cried so much when the Digidestined had to say goodbye.

I had no idea that I created this topic :wau: As such, I was delighted to see a thread on this topic pop up

Yes! I remember being hooked on Digimon Tamers before when it aired of Jetix. I also watched a little bit of the other ones as well. I felt that it way better than Pokémon because the Digimon actually talked to their partners while Pokémon mostly made weird sounds. I also liked how the humans and the Digimon try hard to get along together. My favorite Digimon from Tamers is Guilmon and Renamon and I also liked Agumon from other seasons.

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.

Mostly of the first two series. I tried to watch all the other stuff after it, but I could never get to them. I'm excited to see the original cast again in the new season though

Man I remember catching a few episodes of the Myotismon sage of Season one back on Fox kids. Boy did that ever get me hooked. Had to go back & buy the vhs of the earlier episodes. Once that ended, I Stepped out for  a while, before learning that they made a season 2, and had to jump back in again. I had my parents take me and my brother to see the digimon movie, twice! even my mom got in on the action, taking us to taco bell a whole bunch of times just so that we could get the exclusive cards and the metal plate cards that came with them.

Then Season 3 came on, and completely changed the game. Out of all the seasons I've watched, 3 was the best. That seems to be the consensus among fans, and for good reason. The fights were harder, emotion was rawer, you could really connect with the plight of the characters, the threats seemed grander. The villains were better done as well, from the savage digimon acting without conscience, the Sovereign and his quest to conquer the human realm, to the amoral D-Reaper and all it's monstrous agents trying to eradicate both worlds. Even in the dubbed version, the tone was decidedly dark, especially for a kids show.

Plus you got awesome moments like this (sorry, can't find the english dub, but the music for this is better)

Season 4 was alright, but it just felt empty without the digimon partners.

Haven't gone back since, though I've heard good things about season 5, as well as the CGI movie: X-evolution.

I was the biggest fan of this show back in the day. Even after I left for the Air Force back in 2004, I still found the time to record season 4. I actually just found out that season 6 is on Netflix, in English, but I guess times change. There's something boring and childish about the show that would have appealed to be 10 years ago, but doesn't now. Oh well......guess I'll always have the memories of liking the show.

I'd try it in Japanese. I was definitely having the same issues, so I tried it in Japanese. The childness kind of goes away mostly, as well as the dumb sound effects and corny music, and leaves all the good stuff in.

I have heard this a lot, I should give it a go at some point. Having said that, I was ok with the corny music/jokes etc. :please:

  • 2 weeks later...

I was hugely into Digimon in the first season and i'm still a fan now. I have lots of great memories of the show. I liked the show better than Pokemon, it just had more of a story to it and the digimon had there own personalities and they could talk which i liked. I watched it up until season 3 but they stopped showing it here after that, i didn't really keep up with it since then.

I was happy to hear that the original cast would be coming back for the 15th Anniversary of Digimon and that it would be a continuation of Adventure 1 in the spring of this year.

I also got Digimon All Star Rumble last year which is a fun game. I also want to support the series so that more Digimon games are available in North America and Europe.
