[Spoilers] Two New Previews for Rainbow Rocks on Yahoo

When I saw these two clips yesterday/ this morning it got me even more hyped up about the movie. I've been so excited since I first heard about it and ahhhh it's almost somewhat here. although no theaters are playing near me, curse the damn small town I live in that's practically unknown to the world. so I have to wait for the DVD.

 

I like the designs of the antagonists. They're pretty good. Plus that singing, friggin entrancing. It's so beautiful and eerie, I'm looking forward to all the other songs.

 

And hooray for Sunset Shimmer! I loved her in the first one, even though she was sort of bland. In that 'god you're so bland but I love it' sort of way to me. Lol, you can just hear that attitude in her voice when she's all "I turned into a demon. I turned into a raging she-demon."

 

Priceless. I really hope she shines decently in this movie.

This trailer is everything I hoped for and more. I wanted Sunset Shimmer to be the Mane Six's friend, and I wanted the next villains to be bigger and better. I'm soo hyped. I'm actually excited for this movie, and trust me- I definitely wasn't for the first Equestria Girls. It looks like they've stepped up their game!

Side note,  Photo Finish is a character in RREQG.

 

I thought PF was older than the Mane 6 (that voice was NOT a kid's voice).  Does that indicate that the age of EQG characters is nearly unrelated to the age of FiM characters?

They did it! They made Sunset a believable antihero!

 

I'd rather pick this one, after all, it's over the top, and is made by Cranky Doodle Donkey 

 

I guest they it makes sense the Dazzlings look like  were inspired by the designs of Monster High, a darker look fits for villains.

Both previews look badass I think the movie will be 20 percent cooker than the last one but I think there is a small chance of HASBRO®© getting sued for the appearances of the dazzlings I think but HASBRO©® has mo'$ and SWAG and is a boss like that!

Pluses:

1. Regarding the (formulaic) character designs, there is actually some form of variety when looking at two of the Dazzles. Those two aren't actually wearing any skirts and have other clothes on them to differentiate themselves from the others.
2. The song (both the lyrics and score) up to "Let's have a battle!" chorus was rather catchy and didn't contain a score that was rather bland and bare. Background vocalizations enhanced the sinister mood of the scene.
3. Most of the animation has improved. The walk cycle of the Dazzles look and feel much more organic compared to the previous movie, and the transitions are creative and/or seamlessly flowing from one cut to another.
4. As absolutely idiotic as Sunset's forced redemption was (and, by doing that, permanently ruining the reputation of the Elements of Harmony and massacring EQG's previously established slice-of-life narrative), continuity is reinforced by not retconning it.

Minuses:

1. At least two problems with the song:
   1. It really hammers the sinister anthem of competition and makes the conflict feel very contrived. Couldn't Battle of the Bands be a little more subtle with its message?
   2. Its direction swerved once "BATTLE!" is chanted, turning from what was an interesting antithesis of Win the Crown to a very juvenile concept. (And considering its older base demographic and how much it'll rip off Monster High like last year [and likely Jem and the Holograms this time], you can make the concept of High School much more unique than that.)
2. The green mind-controlling mist creates some confusion. Not the concept itself, but how it's spread. Can only the audience see it, or can the HuMane Five and Sunset Shimmer see it along with us?
   
   Plus, seeing as Sunset was uncomfortable around the Dazzles, did she try to go to Principal Celestia's office and talk to her prior? We won't know if she did or not, but if she didn't, then that's the movie's first (if not second) pretty big plot hole.

P.S.: As for the trailer itself, the lampshade with Sunset turning into a she-demon was pretty funny and worked because… Well, let's face the facts; Sunset Demon looked really stupid.

Adagio's voice (in the song at least) is definitely Kazumi Evans (Rarity's and Luna's singing voice), the other two....... I think one of them is Shannon Chan Kent ("That was, like... amaaaazziiiing"- The Biskit Twins)

 

It could also be Nicole Oliver, judging from the known credits. And since they credited Shannon Chan-Kent without the other usual singers, and Michelle Creber without the other Crusaders, perhaps they play the other two.

OHMYGOSHOHMYGOSHOHMYGOSH!!! When I heard that Rainbow Rocks came out, I thought it would be some petty movie about teenage girls playing music and rocking out. Like some Disney type thing. But now I see this.. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

That was absolutely fantastic. Especially those harmonies.

I definitely got a "sirens" vibe from it, they look like they could be pretty good villains (then again, where did they get the black magic necklaces ?)

 

Also, I noticed a little something.

Now, this is probably me getting over excited, but I feel like this isn't a coincidence.

During the song that, basically, enchanted everyone, Vinyl Scratch is seen twice in the background with her headphones on, listening to her own music.

My thinking : She didn't hear any of the song, and thus is the only non-corrupted student along with the Humane 5, Sunset Shimmer and Twilight.

Will she have a role in this ? That's what I'm hoping

lemme tell ya, when I saw the first one, I was insanely underwhelmed...I mean, it wasn't bad...but these are pony standards we're talking about here!

 

But this one?...If there's a midnight screening in my area, I will go to the theater opening night dressed in my Vinyl Stallion costume...no joke.

Judging from Sunset Shimmer's expression right before they zoom on the gas, I'd say they notice it to. So far the show hasn't made any "audience-seen-only" stuff (or has it ?)

 

Also, how is that a plot hole ? I mean, why would she talk to the school's principal just because she had a weird feeling about the new students ? Especially with her reputation of, y'know, demon and all... I don't think Celestia would do much if anything about it
