If Rarity, not Twilight was 'leader' of the Mane six, what would be different

I'm not sure if Rarity would suit as a leader. Maybe a little bit, considering how she runs a fashion business. Maybe she could defeat Tirek with the other princesses' magic? She has defeated Changelings in hoof-to-hoof combat (Grey Fox would approve) and she was willing to fight Garble and his gang to protect Spike. Again, in hoof-to-hoof/claw combat (I think I found out Grey Fox's favorite pony!).

Plus, she outsmarted the Diamond Dogs.

 

Rarity would give Tirek fabulous clothes. Tirek would love clothes so much that he would decide not to take away Rarity's abilities. She would make him clothes, and exchange, he would free a pony. Eventually, he would turn good and become a top model and be admired by everypony in Equestria.

 

I now want a fanfic of that! Quick! To FimFiction!

Besides, that wouldn't have changed anything when they were against Tirek because they defeated him together...

Why does everything has to be solved with pure magical force? Rarity cannot take Tirek head on, she's not the magical power house that Twilight is. 

 

The entire structure of the show would be changed. It would be certainly more girly: more focus on fashion and changing people through her generosity rather than blasting them with Elements of Rainbow or whatever. 

 

There would be a problem with element of magic. Twilight did study magic, which supports her as that element. Maybe it would be replaced with a smaller element, and Twilight would remain as a bookworm instead of a super ultimate alicorn. 

 

It would actually be very nice. The show wouldn't have an excuse for focusing on a single character and her borderline Mary Sue adventures, and maybe there would be a bigger focus on cooperation and solving problem with diplomacy and fashion?

She doesn't do anything important.

 

She never kicked manticores in the face. Battled changelings. Worked herself half to death for her friends. Sacrificed her wellbeing and her career chances for her friends. Made generous gifts. Risked her life multiple times.

 

You come across as the worst kind of Rarity hater. The kind of hater that is so shallow that he only sees that Rarity likes fashion and judges her entire character on that... It's like saying Pinkie is useless because she only thinks of parties, something that would be equally wrong.

1st place, there would be team uniforms.  AJ & Rarity would butt heads over this. (Dash would side w AJ)  Secondly, at least at 1st, Rarity was a drama queen.  Could she deal w the constant crises?  She did handle being kidnapped by Diamond Dogs, Spike (in Secret of My Excess) & Saphire Shores.  So, she can run a high stress business, she has the potential.

 

The question isn't "Could she handle Tirek?"  Remember, Tirek wasn't beaten w raw power.  The question is "Could she have beaten Discord in Return of Harmony?"  Twilight was the one to figure that out & I'm not sure Rarity could have.
