Eons ago, it was said that there was a war in the high heavens. Great, 8 winged beings, of whom were regarded by many as angels, fought against each other for dominion of both realm and of belief. One side chaAmpioned the teachings of the all-maker, teaching love, compassion, and forgiveness, even for their foes. The other side was fervent in the belief of might makes right, and that the all-maker was unneeded, as they had surpassed him in every single way imaginable. The two sides fought for thousands of years, with the dissenters who wished to do away with the all-maker slowly taking control. The all-maker, grieving for his wayward creations, bestowed a final gift to his second son. It was a vision, telling the second-born of all creation to make new life in another world, to make the life diverse, loving, and caring as the children of the all-maker once were. The second-born son would do so, creating all life that would be a part of equestria and the rest of the world. However, the other angel-like entities who favored themselves over the all-maker issued a proclamation; that they would decimate those who still believed, along with the mortal creatures that the second son was commanded to cultivate. In order to make sure that the mortals stood a chance, the second-born returned to their realm, and taught them all the art of war, from making armor and forging weapons using the elements borne deep within the earth, to advanced tactics. He even had to corrupt them, and teach them the emotions of hatred, guilt, fear, and a plethora of many other negative aspects of personality. The second son is both the reason why life exists, and why war and conflict exist within the mortal realm. When he was done with his work, he returned to the high heavens, and never came back to the land of mortals. In time, his creations would seperate from each other, their innocence, lost to time. War became common among the different species over petty reasons, and they soon divided the known world into different kingdoms, a testament to the lost love that they had shared between each other before they were corrupted by their progenitor.

 

Many, many millennia has passed since the creation and corruption of mortals. There are very few who know of the tale of creation and corruption, and yet, no one knows that the story which has been passed down, is but a fragment of a whole. Not one being, not even Celestia, has an inkling of what was happening in the heavens... But something stirs. Not from above, but below, in Tartarus. An ancient being, of whom's origins are unknown, and of whom's motives are not made clear, has begun to stir.

 

 

There is a tournement of might occurring in equestria. The prize is a rather large portion of gold, and has attracted some of the best fighters from around the known world. Some shall battle by themselves, while others have formed groups in order to win the prize, of course, each cause has its on reason for coveting such a large amount of coin. A grand colleseum has even been built for the event, as it commemorates 1,000 years of peace between the nations of the griffon empire, the Minotaur duchy, and the equestrian kingdom. Canterlot is to be the venue, and many have traveled far to enjoy a good show of skill, finesse, speed, and strength. Very few have registered to participate, as they have not the stomach to compete, even if there is a no killing rule. Only the bravest would dare enter, as indeed, princesses Celestia, Luna, and cadence, along with the entire world, would be watching.

 

However.... The entire world, should have stayed prepared for war like they were eons ago... Because the trials that the mortals will soon have to endure, will scar them for the rest of their lives.... That is, if they even live through them.

Rules:

1. Despite having a tournement as the opening of this RP, keep in mind that this is NOT a tournement-style story. This is an action/adventure RP, and the tournement is merely a way to set the wheels of fate into motion.

 

2. No OP characters or god-modding. This rule especially applies to the tournement beginning. We are all here to have fun. Lets keep it fun ^___^

 

3. While I perfer creative characters, please. No " insane personalities " or alicorns.

 

4. You may have up to four OC's to participate in the RP.

 

5. You may actually also have support OCs in the background as NPC'S ( OC's family, friend(s), etc.) however, keep in mind that you need to keep their influence within the story to a minimum. You may have dialogue with them and even interactions, but it is perferred if that is the limitation. If you wish to do anything else with them, feel free to PM me or Magos Ampharose and we will see what we can come up with.

 

6. This RP will get depressing and morbid, with a tone of desperation, struggle, and trial. This is not for the feint of heart. If you expect a lot of cheerfulness, then you might not want a part of this.

 

7. Romance is allowed. But keep it clean, please;)

 

8. If you have read the rules of the RP, type in the phrase " vae victus " along with your character applications. Any who fail to do so may not be allowed to be considered if this is not seen. It is your badge of proof.

 

9. Stay involved. Try to post at least once a day if applicable. If you will be out for a while, simply tell magos ampharose or I.

 

9. Most important. HAVE A BLAST.

 

10. Realize that there are two rule #9's (obvious joke is obvious )

One more thing I forgot to mention; this will be a musically enhanced RP, which means that music can accompany some posts to start off events and set a tone. To enhance the experience and feel the mood of the happenings within the RP, it is highly suggested that the music be listened to as you post, as it may be an inspiration, or at least, can help you feel the emotion that is attempted to be conveyed ^__^

If there really is no Solar Empire/Lunar Republic thing going on, then I'm out. I get that this is might not be taking place in Equestria, and I can make sure to mention it as little as possible, but being loyal to the Solar Empire is kind of a character defining thing for my fan character.

I did! The only thing that worries me is how the rules said this RP would be depressing, morbid, etc. However, I'm fine with having Samurai work alone, so I should be okay.

I'm not sure why you highlighted the last part of the symposis to prove your point. It means that the princesses and everypony in Canterlot (at least) are going to be there, watching and cheering at Agririon's otherworldly sexiness the amazing fights that are going to be coming. Now, there is such thing as loyalty to Celestia, but still being wary of Luna, which requires but a small change to the character's attitude  (Unless there's something secret that isn't in his OC page).

 

Also, in response about this morbid theme, after about five to ten pages while we do this tournament, this thing is going to get dark. Really dark. Dark enough for me to consider lightening the tone in some places, and I play my roleplays with demons on a regular basis. If you aren't alright with bloody descriptions and evil dark things of doom, then this roleplay is not for you.

Hey guys.. Entrance themes for the tournement. Post them when your character is called for their round. The tournement will be random when it comes to who vs. who. You don't have to have an entrance theme. I just thought it'd be cool XD.

 

Expect a major story shaping event to occur randomly during a round. You never know when it will happen.
