gaming Etho goes to bullet hell

    Alright I'm gonna put my game making skills to use and I had a Brilliant idea. The game is called 'Etho goes to bullet hell" and is a reimagining of Dante's inferno. The story is that two cliche teenager go to a cabin in the woods and perform a ritual, thinking it was fake opened a portal into bullet hell. The Bullet Devil then comes and snatches away Ethos GF and he can only get her back if he defeats the Bullet Devil and the seven lesser evils. The game will play like the game genre "bullet hell" where Etho goes up against many demons and bosses inspired by the 7 deadly sins.

 

NOTE: this thread is in the everfree forest because this is mainly gonna talk about the development of the game, and it as nothing to do with MLP.

 

Also while I program my drawing skill is bad, my voice acting is awful, I can't animate, and I suck at making music so any help will greatly make the game last longer. 

 

Got any ideas for how thing would fight you or any ideas in general share I'm can't make up everything and there's always a good idea out there and check out the other game I'm working a Fighting is magic mod. Find it throught my profile.

I hate posting something just to bump up the thread, it's like self advertising. Some here's the thing Etho had something to do with minecraft. In Minecraft 2.0 the is a block called Ethoslad I asked my brother what etho means and he said it was a type of mining explosive so that's were the name came from not Etho's lad the youtude channel. I just gonna say the music in the game is gonna be metal and some rap similar to laughing at you anarchy riegs. I'm gonna try to self teach myself to do all the things I need help with.

 

Also any ideas on how bullets would work or Bullet demons ideas post them I would love to here them.

Personal suggestion: different bullet types based on the 7 deadly sins, as well as different sub-bosses and bullet patterns reminiscent of the sin they represent. Sloth would be funny as all hell, especially since you could play around with it to the point where it's a slow, extremely dense WALL of bullets falling down at you.

Ok most people are confused on the sins so here is my idea on what they are.

SLOTH: Sloth is not the fact that your being lazy it's that you are being lazy and it's causing a burden for others. People who use welfare although they can work are convicted of sloth, but lets say you broke your spine and could not move for the rest of your life then your not convicted.

LUST: easily the most under stood I don't really need to talk about it much. Ignore the urges and don't cheat on you spouse.

Envy: Envy is basically jealousy of another belonging. It's when you see you sister get a lots of presents on her birthday and you look spiteful. 

WRATH: Another easy one. Anger that has clearly gotten out of hand. Wife beaters are a good example.

GREED: Mainly Wanting more and more of things and taking from other and it is not limited to money.

GLUTTONY: Another one that's confusing. It does not mean to be fat, it means to eat because you love to eat and you are taking from others just to enjoy it. 

PRIDE: Pride is said to be the worst . Everyone needs pride but when you have to much it turns bad. You beating up the rivels team mascot because your team lost could be an example of this

 

I know people might disagree about this but this is more on how different people see it. Remember it's what you believe is what matters. One way of telling if you sinned is if you feel bad after doing it. That guilt means there's is still a good person. 

 

P.S I'm not a huge christian so don't think I'm forcing a belief on you and remember it's just a game.

Some where I heard that demons are not smart and it's only the first boss so I had to have some idea on how to defeat him instead of just "hold down the shoot button and dodge bullets until fat monster dies" Also I'm 99.99% sure you didn't mean to quote men 3 times

Before people go crazy this is not base on any real religion text. It may have been inspired by Dante's inferno and a little of the evil dead.

 

Ok, my friends a bad person and says he does not want to draw for the game despite him already drawing the main character on paper so many times. He drew Etho 26 times each with a small variation. I decided on putting twilight's cutie mark on the back and through the whole game people will mention it and he will cringe and say it's from a metal band.

 

Alright here is the control scheme

You can put different bullet types on the WASD keys there are 8 in the game and when you press space time slows down completely, even the music plays slower and Etho is controled with the mouse.

 

I spent nearly all day watching videos on how  to use inkscape to make this game first image you will see will be Etho, next will be Mathilda, his girlfriend, and the Lilith, who is the prophet in the game similar to the prophet in Dante's inferno. Also got any ideas for this game let me hear them. names for bosses, attack patterns, anything I will listen.
