resolved Profile Comments Automatically Delete

Hi there. So, I just had a quick observation. I find that whenever I post a comment on someone's profile in which that person has to approve the comment before it shows up, the comment deletes itself when the person replies! I'll click on my notification that says the user replied but when I click it nothing is there. It doesn't say that the status was removed or whatever it's simply not there as if it was not even posted to begin with. What's up with this?

@Felix

Are you sure the user approved your comment when this happens?

I am sure. I receive a status saying that they replied in which that means I can click it and it will take me to what was said. This has happened to me anytime the user has to approve something so I know they aren't just replying then deleting it either.

I'm gonna try to simulate the same situation to see what the problem is exactly.

I made my own investigation,and,in fact,the comments don't self-approve when you reply to them:

PSwbTov.pngI checked that the comment needs to be approved to be accessible,even when the person who received it replied.

Correct. How it works is that once you comment on a status, you will always get 'xxx has replied' notifications - even if your comment was not approved. It depends on the settings of the member who made the status update that you replied to. @Lightwing and @Felix I just made a nonsense status update. Comment on it.

Well wait, it's not a status update I'm worried about. It's that if I comment on someone's profile but have to wait for it to be approved, well, I get something saying they replied, I click it, and it's deleted. It has nothing to do with said user posting a status update, it is me going to that profile, making my own comment on their profile, and then waiting fir them to reply or approve to said comment.

I know. I wanted to highlight that both direct profile comments and status updates have unique characteristics. Some think that they behave the same. They do not.

Regardless what lightwing said was correct, that the user may have to approve the comment. If they reply to a non approved comment, you cannot see it. The option to delete also exists for the user who you left a comment on. If you want to test this further feel free to make a comment on my profile. Also, if you feel that your message is not a normal opperating characteristic a screen shot would definately assist.

Ah, I read what Lightwing said earlier but somehow must've spaced out on it...because I don't remember him saying that. My apologies. That makes sense. Thank you for the clarification and assistance.
