Who's Prince Blueblood's mother?

I used to think that Prince Blueblood was Luna's son since he's Princess Celestia's nephew, but I read that Luna is her aunt too, which means there's a third sister in Celestia's family.

Well looks like they did a very weird canon twist, since Celestia and Luna are two because one represents the Sun and the other represents the Moon, what could a third sister represent? Unless... You know, that third pony could be a brother actually.

He is most likely a living descendant of the Unicorn royalty that ruled Equestria before the current reign of the royal duo. They were the ones that raised the sun and the moon, and Star Swirl was a member of their council (all relevant information can be found in the novel The Journal of the Two Sisters) . And with Blueblood being a duke, and only given the title of prince because of hasbro mandated changes in terminology, it would support the idea that he is a descendant of the once reigning royalty of Unicornia.

My headcanon is that Blueblood is a descendant of Princess Platinum, especially given the similarity in attitude, but that's just speculation on my part.

Yes I do think Blueblood was a descendant of Princess Platinum. After Equestria was founded, she became residence with Celestia.

Most likely he is  a descendant of Princess Platinum of a descendant of the Two Sister;s

blood line a bit removed!  I would say it would be on the mom's side given the kingdom

is ruled by the girls!  Yet with FIM we get  more wonder and questions that answers..

If Cadance has a foal, said foal would also be Celestia's nephew or niece. Cadance is an adopted niece. This concept of grand nephews and adopted nieces could explain Blueblood as a descendent of a previously adopted figure.

I remember reading somewhere that Blueblood was not related to the royal sisters in any way, and that he was only called 'prince' by himself; largely.

Lets just consider it a 'brain fart' on the fault of the writing staff for not really thinking that through. No way is he Luna's kid because Im pretty sure if she had a kid he (or she) wouldn't look like that and the possibility of there being a third royal sister is very low. I mean its not like they've pulled random ponies out of thin air before to be a major part of a story plot......right?
