gaming Opinion(s) on Sims?

So, I was playing the Sims 2 and just was wondering what your guises thoughts on Sims through Sims 4 are.

I like being able to play out my god complex on small representations of people in my life from those who I despise to those whom I actually like.

Then kill them all in hilarious ways.

I like it, however it's one of those games where you play nonstop for a few days and then never touch for several months.

You both are terrible people... Kidding... maybe.

It's weird, because you figure Sims would stop visiting the house with all the tombstones arranged in neat little rows out front

But yes. I just went months without playing and I'm addicted again... God danget.

I love the Sims and I've been a loyal fan ever since the first game. I own every game including the spin-off called MySims. Asking me what my opinion is, is like asking One Direction if they like their hair.

Very fun to play, very boring to watch.

Story time! One time my brother was playing the Sims 1 and when he was gone I decided to make my own house, but I didn't know how to make buildings so I just placed a crap load of furniture out in the lawn. -Geez that is an OOOLD memory

I like that game, and it's very entertaining to create new sims and kill them when you get bored of them, but not as fun as killing them with natural disasters in Simcity 4 :)

I agree. I don't know why but i usually rather watching gameplays in instead of playing the games, but The Sims gameplays are really boring.

The Sims is one of those games that really makes me question what have I done with my life, as one is quite literally just playing a game about day to day life... It makes JRPG'S that rely heavily on social simulation ( e.g. Persona or Sakura Wars ) seem less depressing; because at least in one of those I will fight monsters or mechs at some point. But each to his or her own.

I know there's a place you walked
Where love falls from the trees
My heart is like a broken cup
I only feel right on my knees.
I spit out like a sewer hole
Yet still receive your kiss
How can I measure up to anyone now
After such a love as this?

It's a great idea, but has unfortunately pretty much succumbed to EA's greed.

The first two (computer versions, the console versions are bad. All of them.) were excellent. Although I always found the original to be too frustrating. That game was hard! The Sims 2 and beyond are more stress-free games, and that's the way I believe it should be. The Sims isn't like other series, and tends to appeal more to those like me who play games for purposes of relaxation.

The Sims 3 is, at the end of its span, a great game, too. However, I excluded it from the 'excellent' list because it was The Sims 3 when greed really took hold over the series. The game is great, the base-game was a completely new experience, setting itself apart from The Sims 2 in amazing ways. But they raised the prices of the Expansion Packs, and then added the Store. Consequently, Expansion Packs added less while costing more. And the Store? Lets not go there...

The Sims 4 is not a great game. I will not be purchasing it, ever. I have to go with the beliefs of the fandom that the game must have originally planned to be an online game, because the game is so... empty. It is completely devoid of much of anything to set it above The Sims 3. In fact, it removed story progression and open world. The Sims 4 is a step back, and no amount of Expansion Packs, patches, and Store content can fix that. And having played since the original, and knowing that the game is an investment, and not a single purchase, I will not mess with it. No way am I waiting years for a feature like Seasons to return, when if the company weren't so darn greedy it would have been a base-game feature, as it is as natural as day/night cycle and aging... But then again, toddlers were removed, too. The next game I suppose they'll probably exclude aging and make it an Expansion Pack feature, too... And the pleased-by-everything-EA-releases The Sims fandom will eat it up anyway.

I really like it, but the removal of the open world has really frustrated me to the point of having to stop playing it. I mean I get a friggin loading screen for crossing the street, I don't even want to have my sims leave the house as I can't deal with all the loading screens.

So go back to The Sims 3! It's not like The Sims 4 does anything substantial to 'outdo' The Sims 3, anyway. lol

I felt the Sims 4 was alright as far as optimization. I sat my dude down on the computer and had him "Practice Programming", and then realized I could be doing that in the real world.
