Why is most fanmade music EDM?

I recently thought about this, and i was wondering what you all thought of it. I never got why most bronies make EDM of the music, there's so much of it. I mean, a lot of it is well done, but there isn't a whole lot of variety. I mean there's more of this:

Than this:

I would ganter that it's easier to produce, but still, why the abundance of EDM?

I was just wondering what you all think.

P.S., if this has already been asked, mods, I apologize and feel free to lock this :P I couldn't find anything.

Same as what Andaasonsan said, it's really easy. You just have to know how to use programs and maybe how to take vocals from the show to use, but it's just overall easy.

I honestly prefer large projects, that multiple brony musicians team up on and make into a great song, most of the time, when this happens it's not EDM.

It's easy, it gets alot of listeners, and people are lazy.

For some ungodly reason, EDM has become the sound of this generation. It sounds like a donkey giving birth to a litter of porcupines, but it's our "sound" nonetheless.

Compare this to, say, a jazzy big band composition, which would require skill and dedication, yet would get maybe a 10th of the amount of hits as an EDM rehash.

When you crunch the numbers, it's just not worth it for most brony musicians.

Amoral cynic with a bitchin' vocabulary.

Check out A Century of Song if you like music from before this millennium.

I'm really tempted to start making music, but lately I feel more drawn to trying EDM (even though I've always despised it) than creating something for my Jazz fusion band to play, for the exact reasons you meant here. It's easier, and it's more likely to get more views. It's a little sad really, but I'd rather try to give my own twist to the generic EDM that everyone is making than making a composition with my band that is going to get 0 views. :c

How would you walk, how would you talk if you thought: "Three percent of the population likes classical music, if only we could get it up to four percent we'd be back in business and all our problems would be over." How would you walk, how would you talk if you thought: "Everybody loves classical music! They just haven't found out about it yet!" It's an entirely different world. It's what you make of it that counts.

I found an easy way to find out if you've inspired someone. If their eyes are shining, you know you're doing it!

I like EDM, but it's really easy to have it sound like crap. Though, the few artists I think do a good job are Assertive Fluttershy, and PinkiePieSwear for example, who don't put so much annoying base in (especially PPS). On another note, what are your people's favorite EDM brony musicians?
