Favorite games of 2014 ?

I did more backlog gaming this year, to be honest, so my favorite game I played this year is Persona 4 Golden, even though it isn't a 2014 title. I also liked Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, but as with the first game, it's maybe a quarter of the experience I might get from an actual Persona game. Akiba's Trip: Undead and Undressed is an odd title, but I guess that sets it apart from the common drivel that floods the game industry. I just recently invested in The Walking Dead Season 2 and The Wolf Among Us, since I like to wait for the physical compilations. I just finished TWD S2, and actually crammed three episodes in one day since I just couldn't put it down. It was well worth the wait, even if I had to dodge spoilers for a good while.

 

I'm three episodes into The Wolf Among Us, and I'm actually really impressed. I mostly picked this one up due to a combination of hype and because I like The Walking Dead games so much, but I actually think I like it more than TWD. The writing is solid in both series, but I like the concept behind TWAU more since I kind of like alternate retelling of fairy tales. By the way, if you haven't seen Into the Woods, I was also pleasantly surprised by that. Anyways, I'm almost interested enough to want to check out the Fables comic series, but I'm not really much of a comic guy, and confusing canons discourage me from bothering with the medium, aside from the MLP comics. Does anyone know if that series is any good, and if Telltale's writing is an adequate reflection of it?

I'm not a massive game follower, but South Park: The Stick of Truth was fantastic. It's a fun game to play and it captures the South Park world excellently.
