Plageius 263 January 1, 2015 Share January 1, 2015 Does anyone else have this weird dilema where they can't seem to sit down for a FIM episode but still appreciates the fandom? Because I feel exactly this way.
Tom Snyder 4,112 January 1, 2015 Share January 1, 2015 (edited) I don't think its really a problem, you don't have to like the show to be in the fandom. As long as you enjoy being around other bronies, it doesn't matter. Plageius 263 January 1, 2015 Author Share January 1, 2015 Really? I'm almost the exact opposite. Don't get me wrong, I like Bronies, it's just that some of the ones I've met are pretty mean and cold-hearted, and if I'm lucky, I meet one that's just plain ol' creepy (man-children, cloppers, ect.) As for the show, I don't know how, but it's probably the best show I've seen in my lifetime Yeah I get you there, but it's just mainly that I prefer the way the characters look in art rather than the show.
Ziggy + Angel + Rain 11,303 January 1, 2015 Share January 1, 2015 I regularly go back and watch episodes from all four seasons; I've grown to appreciate it all the more since I fell for (or admitted I'd fallen for) a certain cherry-eyed, sky-blue siren. It's the fandom that I've tired of / become disillusioned towards. "It uses the faculty of what you call imagination. But that does not mean making things up. Azure Envy 1,092 January 1, 2015 Share January 1, 2015 Yeah I get you there, but it's just mainly that I prefer the way the characters look in art rather than the show. I feel the same way -- what attracted me to the fandom was the art.
ghostfacekiller39 23,860 January 1, 2015 Share January 1, 2015 I'm pretty much the opposite, myself. I love to talk about the show and I love to watch the show and I've made some great friends through this fandom, but the majority of my experience with the fandom at large, not everyone, has felt cold, unwelcoming, and frankly unenjoyable. I've made some great friends through it, I must add, but the negative is a bit too glaring for me to ignore. However, I do love the show and I love to watch the show and I practically count down the seconds to S5's premiere It's given me Rarity, who in turn has given me a new lease on life That little white unicorn has entranced me and captivated me to the point where I almost never stop talking about her because she makes me so happy, and that's something I can be grateful for even on my worst day 3 He who is Positively Obsessed With All Things Rarity!!! LeafFerret 3,382 January 1, 2015 Share January 1, 2015 I still like the show and fandom, although I sort of lost interest in the characters, I wanted the female characters to look more human looking and most of their colour schemes no longer interest me. Lucky for me, we have OCs who we can make their own appearance. Sig by Kyoshi.
Ziltoid the Omniscient 286 January 1, 2015 Share January 1, 2015 (edited) Ive grown out of interest with both lately, but i'm trying to get back into it. Seems to be working. The show I can just sit and rewatch an episode or few and not lose interest, but I can't bingewatch entire seasons like I used to and as for the creepy or asshole bronies, I just shrug em off. They're not even bronies to me, really. Because I joined this fandom becuase of the admirable goodwill and charity of this fandom. The people who treat others in a positive friendly light. Not the ones who overanalyze or like to start debates over a childrens show or the ones that 'troll' or the ones who...take it so seriously it hurts their livelihood. I'm one of the few who actually tries to follow the conception of 'love and tolerate' because I believe in the message of the 'golden rule' (Do unto others) The hardest thing for me right now is just waiting on season 5, because i've never really been interested in fan-made stuff. I can say the best friends i've made, came from being in this fandom though. Edited January 1, 2015 by Dale Segno
Creamy Arty 6,252 January 1, 2015 Share January 1, 2015 Can't say that I have that dilemma. For a brief time it was rather the opposite, but that's turned around. Now I'm enjoying the fandom very much and my love for the show is as strong as ever. I still pony as hard as I've ever ponied, and I'm really looking forward to season 5. 2 Kyoshi made this ^^ Come join us on Equestria.tv on Fridays at 6 PM Eastern for our weekly movie nights! Andaasonsan 3,205 January 2, 2015 Share January 2, 2015 I've never understood this. There's some pretty decent fan content out there, but nothing so awesome that it alone would be worth joining a fandom for. As far as I know this isn't a common thing for a fandom. Like are there Trekkies out there who don't like any of the movies or TV shows, and are just there for fan fiction or whatever? Application REJECTED! Tao 7,917 January 2, 2015 Share January 2, 2015 I like the show but I have moved away a bit, just waiting for season five to come out a bit. The fandom is 1/2 reason why i love the bronies! Its one of the most creative fandom I've seen and become part of and one the most depth also in a fandom!

zombienixon 330 January 2, 2015 Share January 2, 2015 I'm still in the opposite camp as well. In person, I know a group of bronies who are pretty fun to hang out with, but online my experiences have been far less pleasant. The biggest appeal for me to interact with the fandom was just to converse with like-minded people, about any common interest, not just ponies. A lot of the best times were when MLP was scarcely mentioned, actually. In a lot of cases, when it comes to ponies, I tend to interact more with the collectors, since one of the biggest things I like about MLP is the toys. But I joined here recently just to try and see that there's still some good on the brony side of MLP.
10InTheTardis 509 January 2, 2015 Share January 2, 2015 i still like the show, but I find the fanmade content is a lot better, example, doctor whooves and assistant, my little dashie, ect... a simular thing happened to me when i liked adventure time, i had stopped watching the show because i found the jokes weren't all that funny, and the language they used was just... a bit too "special" for me ((slamacow, tops blooby, Jay jay flip, what the zip? i used to find these funny, but now they're just kinda... dumb.)) but i was still active on the community because they said stuff like that a lot less, plus it gave me something to talk about with a bunch of cool people (it's also how i first watched my little pony.)) and with the my little pony community, it's even easier for that to happen, the show has to focus on being enjoyed by little girls the most, the jokes have to either be funny to them, or make it so they can't tell they're there, so the show is easier to get tired of, and also, the fanmade content is much better than adventure time, in adventure time you get fanart, fan fiction, roleplays, in my little pony, not only do you have the same amount of these things on the same websites (fanfiction, deviant art, youtube, ect) but you also get websites dedicated to these things as well (you might have heard of one, it's called mlpforums.com, ring a bell? there's also fimfiction, all the other poniverse sites and probably a bunch of art ones i've never bothered to check out) also, you get all kinds of fanmade content most shows don't have, such as fan-episodes ((whether they're just sound files or full on animated episodes)) music, conventions, and a whole lot more. 1 Hello! Oblivion 20,268 January 2, 2015 Share January 2, 2015 Well, for me I actually started watching the show before I really got involved in the fandom much at all, then of course I found the forums, and through the power of the internet have made some really awesome friends. High Step 46 January 2, 2015 Share January 2, 2015 (edited) Personally, I would not mind making a few friends in this fandom, quality friends who would not judge me. I made one such very close friend before even I was a bronie. Friendship is Magic, but friendship is also give and take and willingness to give without recieving, as well as understanding, caring, sharing, forgiving and acceptance. Yes, I have made close friends who are not bronies too. But it is that one special friend that led me to become a Bronie too. With all that said, I now extend my hoove in friendship.
