Overdrive and Wolf walked back into camp, carrying their haul from hunting. He took one look at it, muttered a few choice words under his breath, and set the prey down.

 

"You called, Lightning," he spoke, hearing Lightning's proposition.

 

"I don't have an issue going out with you and sorting out the land. I actually managed to find a source of water while I was out scrounging around with Wolf, but I'm sure there's more to be seen."

 

He took a look at the nearly faded sunlight, then turned to Lightning. "I'll be honest with you, though. I think it would be better if we waited until the morning. Exploring at night would be more dangerous, given the limited visibility, unknown landscape, and who knows what else is out there."

"You're very right."

Lightning then turned to look at Amber

"He's right, we really shouldn't be going out at this time." He nodded towards the Jungle wall, "We have no clue what's in there." He said grimly.

"It could be life threatening, it could be harmless. Regardless, it's dangerous."

"The same could be said about staying put here overnight," Amber said. "...but I suppose I could hold off until morning." She gazed over to the large communal canopy.

"I'm not sure if I'll be able to sleep, but I'll try." She tilted her head pensively.

 

"My name's Amber, by the way." She added finally.

"Pleasure to meet you," Overdrive responded. He then took one of the canteens full of water, and had a quick sip of it, deep in thought at the same time.

 

He stretched for a moment. Carrying the scavenged prey was a bit exhausting, but he had plenty of energy at his disposal.

 

"I'm not the least bit tired right now. If you want, I can stay up as watch so you all can sleep. How's that sound?"

"I'm not tired either. This all is to confusing for me. I wonder what I was, before this happened? Was I known? Was my life good? Did I had family? Friends? Special somepony? Hmmm ... well, I think I can't sleep, to much questions in my head, my mind. I stay awake with you all."

 

He looks around.

"I guess I'm off to bed, than," Amber sighed. She waved her hoof passively as she trotted away from the fire and into the shadows of the makeshift canopy.

"I'll see you all in the morning," She added.

"Hopefully."

((I hope we'll eventually skip to morning...this night's been going on a long time, and it's been said many times that we can't act until morning. So, lets wrap up this night and we can all explore come morning!))

Overdrive sat wide awake for the remainder of the night. He used the quiet, tranquil time to contemplate a number of things.

 

The biggest thing that was on his mind was their scenario at that moment. "Lightning and I are going out to scout tomorrow," he thought. "That stream I found should help us get somewhere."

 

His mind thought other things as well, such as all the others. "To say that we're a motley crew stranded out here is an understatement. There's so many different personalities. Hopefully we can all make it out of this without wanting to kill each other."

 

Then his thoughts turned to Wolfy. "I feel bad for her," he thought. "No pony should have to go through what she did. When this is all said and done, I'd like to open my home up to her, if she would accept."

 

As morning approached with each passing minute, his thoughts kept coming, and a new day eventually made its presence known.

Lightning hadn't slept at all.

It had been a rough night after everypony else had went to catch their z's..

He couldn't stop worrying about where they were or what might be out there, he was still thinking as the sun cracked over the tall trees into the sky, still showing it's morning colours...

He really hoped to learn more about everything when he went exploring with @@Overdrive, and @@AmberDust,, and he hoped the others would be safe at the camp for the day.

Amber looked around carefully as she trotted through the jungle. With her magic, she held suspended in midair a piece of coal from the fire and a strip of dried bark.

"It wont be the best map in the world, but it's better than nothing," she said aloud as she sketched out the campground. Her orange eyes darted around as she tried to locate a path. She scribbled a bit with the coal, marching slowly behind Lightning.

"So you said found these packs near a river?" she asked suddenly, momentarily taking here eyes off of her map. She looked up ahead. She couldn't see it, but listening carefully, she heard the distinct noise of running water. She blew her hair out of her eyes.

"We're close, right?"

"I remember this," Overdrive said. "I was just here yesterday, scrounging up food with Wolf. The water shouldn't be that much farther ahead." The thought of fresh water sounded pleasant. He was hoping it was a waterfall, with a natural pool large enough to take a swim or bath in.

 

After passing through several thick bushes and weed plants, the sun shined on a small area, revealing a small lake at the base of a tall waterfall.

 

"Wow, it's beautiful."

"Yeah," He smiled. "At least there's some beauty in the landscape, we could possibly lighten the mood later with swimming here."

He moved forward towards the waterfall.

"It looks quite fresh." "Only one way to find out."  He sad as he bent down.

He took a reasonable amount of water into his mouth, and gulped it down.

"It tastes fresh." He said as he looked up, he noticed something out of the corner of his eye.

"Look at those rocks going through the lake, the ones in the arc shaped line. What do you they they're doing like that? I saw them in the same way when I found the packs."

"Hmm, well considering there is a lot of water around, it's possible they just eroded into that shape, but if you said you've seen this before, there might be something else at work here."

 

After thinking about the odd rock formations for another moment, he took a few paces back, then charged forward.

 

"CANNONBALL!!!" Overdrive yelled into the distance as he jumped straight into the water. "Ahh, this feels good, really good."

 

The soothing water flowed around his body, calming him, and relaxing his body. "Sooo relaxing."

Lightning grinned.

"That all you got?" He laughed as he scaled the waterfall.

Once he reached the top he yelled out.

"I'm the king of the world!" 

He jumped off and back-flipped laughing the whole way down, before he made a massive splash into the water.

His head suddenly popped up out of the water.

"So relaxing..."

Amber trotted over to the water silently. Looking about, she had begun sketching a stream when a thought came to her mind.

"Maybe we could follow it," she suggested to nopony in particular. She looked upstream at the small waterfall, then at the pattern of rocks. She scribbled the pattern in the corner of her makeshift map quickly before taking a drink.

the mare looked over to the stallions fooling about in the water.

 

"Shall we move on?" She said, smirking.

"We shall," He exclaimed in a British explorer pony accent, trying desperately to lighten the mood and take everypony's minds  of the fact they were stuck in the middle of nowhere.

He climbed up the small bank separating the water and the ground.

After climbing out and going to stand next to Amber, he felt a little light headed, but he thought it was his imagination.

Maybe it's just a reaction to the water, nothing to worry about..

He tried to shake it off, and kept going.

Overdrive climbed out of the water. "That hit the spot. Nothing like a relaxing dip in the water to soothe your nerves."

 

He looked over to Amber Dust and Lightning, and noticed Lightning looked dizzy.

 

"Lightning, why don't you have a seat for a minute? You don't look too well right now."

 

Lightning looked as if he would fall over at any second. Overdrive thought, "There must be something in the water that did that to him, but what?"

"Oh, dear," Amber said, suddenly serious. She braced Lightning as he began to stumble.

"Give me a hoof, here," She called out to Overdrive. Together, they helped the stallion sit down. Amber held her hoof to his forehead, then waved it in front of his eyes.

"What are your symptoms?" She asked sharply.

Amber looked over to Overdrive cautiously.

He was swimming in this water, too...and I took a drink...

"Maybe we should head back to camp," She suggested.

Overdrive nodded in agreement with Amber. "She's right. There's no point in going any further if you're hurt. I'm not taking the risk of finding a way out of here until everyone is healthy. Come on, I'll carry you."

 

He then hoists Lightning on his back, and then after, turns to face Amber. "We should get out of here. Something doesn't feel right about this place." He takes off quickly, feeling an ominous presence in the area.

IB find's himself in this strange new location completely unaware of what's going on. "Haha I'm in! Now to figure out what's going on aroung here with there supposed 'Answer to Nothing in Particular.' He said mockingly. "This was all a trick! A setup! And I'm gonna get to the bottom of it. But no one must know why I'm here or else they might not trust me. Hmmm... 

*Thinking* "Crap I hear voices! The less contact I make with the unknown, the more likely I am to survive. Time to get up and move, unseen and unheard." "Remember: Stay cool, stay calm, stay focused, stay alive."

"Thank you Overdrive." 

He nodded his head,

"Theres something about that water, it isn't right. I'm worried about the others."

Lightning rested his eyes. He could feel the light jump every time Overdrive took a step, he seemed to get more and more exhausted. Was it the water? He was too tired to care.

He yawned, and shut his eyes fully.

"Sleepy time..." He said like a little colt...

Overdrive's ears perked up at hearing that. He thought "Sleepy time? Wait a minute, could that be a fountain of youth?" He pondered the theory as he worked his way closer to camp.

 

A little while later, he turned to Amber. "Is it a possibility that's a fountain of youth? The water we were in?"

IB snuck around, silently and smoothly as if like Winter's first snowfall. He eventually came across a pony with a red coat and brown and black spiky mane.

"I gotta sneak around this woodland area and try to find the nearest sign of civilization, from there I can find out who's behind this." He thought. "Gotta keep moving, as far as I know, everypony's hostile." *Teleports a short distance and attempts to scout a new area*

Overdrive trotted back into camp, with Lightning still on his back. He found a place to set him down, and let him rest. He then himself took a seat nearby.

 

"Well, that was odd. Remind me to stay away from that water." He turned around, and took a quick head count of everyone. He noticed someone was missing.

 

"Where's Wolf?" he asked. "Has anyone seen her?" Not getting a reaction, he took off, searching for her.

Rising woke up sometime later. He let out a loud yawn and was looking around. He sees some ponies where gone, but he tought that they just where searching for more outside the camp. He still has no idea, why he is here or who the others are, but he has to trust them for now. Alone here could be the death already ...

After finally climbing out of the hole he fell in, Lordy realized he was pretty much alone. Everybody left, without noticing his disappearance. After taking a breath on the holes edge he tries to retrace his footsteps back to the  camp. When he finally gets there, he notices some new ponies in the camp.

 

"Great... more dammed souls to this wretched place..." he told himself.
