"We aren't the talkative types to other nations until now, our good president and council had deiced that we are now united enough to work with other nations, and wishes to establish a trade with our ample supply of grain from our agriculture, tho we have been around for years we started as 15 united villages and now we are 25 with each town represent in our general council, I was voted to be the ambassador, but I was a accountant before I was made ambassador, our flag is our symbol of hard work being put towards our buildings, resources, and our work towards claiming our frontier lands, I probably wouldn't even be here if I hadn't met my town representative before he left to meet the general council, so sorry in advance but what is your government like and who is this Don we are to meet?" Blost says as he walks next to Copper Still

Copper thought about it for a bit. He wasn't really good at talking about things he didn't really understand be he was going to try. " Well, the head done is part of the council of five. They are at the top of our government who make most of the choices. The head Don is like the one who has the final say on everything I guess.  I'm not really sure.  His name is Malachi Semi. I knew him before he even became a Don.

 

Also our flag represents the five families, that make up the council, coming together to build Quinacta as a place for free trade. We're most about making businesses, a strong workforce and a strong economy. So we we don't really focus on fighting wars and whatnot. Though our militia is pretty strong on the home front."

The diplomats were welcomed in the goverment building, there they were taken to meet a well-dressed ammbassador. he had the regular pony-tailed grey wig and a decortated noblemen overcoat.

"I bid you welcome from your journey, i hope you had a pleasant trip. I am the head diplomat of the Empire, what would you like to discuss?"

Copper nod. "It ain't that far. It's the biggest building in the center of the city." He looked back at the guards as well. "A lot a fellas ya got there." He smiled before looking back at the ambassador. "By any chance would ya'll like to try or buy some home made moonshine?" He said before reaching into a crate and pulling out one of the jars. "It's pretty strong but it leaves a satisfying burn."

@@Skullbuster, "You won't have to wait too much longer." Said a voice from the entrance. Immediatley the Abendstern crew and the captain stood at attention and saluted. There, stood two older bat ponies along with two guards. The one who had spoken was dressed in a uniform similar to the captain's, only it was a dark red, with black outlining. He also wore a pickelhaube with a gold spike and national symbolism on it. Next to him stood the other, dressed in the naval guard uniform only with obvious top ranking markings. They saluted the crew and the first passed the helmet to one of them as the other did with his traditional bicorne, before striding up and saying. "I am Chief of the Abendstern General Staff, Helm von Muot the second. I am second in command of Abendstern's military only to the Kaiser himself, and lead his personal guard." he pointed a hoof to the other. "This is the Fleet Admiral, and chief advisor to the Kaiser, Balder Strich. We have sent for the Kaiser to come meet with you which should take only a few days, half as long as it took us. In his absence we represent the nation and will do so until his arrival." He motioned to one of the guards who had a satchell and removed it's contents before them while the advisor and the other guard looked admirably at the decor. A map was set on the table along with a bottle of whine. "A bottle from the Kaiser's own cellar as a gift, as is custom when formally meeting rulers of other nation's by our invitation." He said smiling.

She led him back to the palace, "just let me know if you ever want to check up on that squad, to see how they are doing and what they are doing, also if you have any revisions you would like to make to the manual, write them down and i can see what i can do"

This has lead to friendships abroad, but also potential threats. We are most concerned about these airships you say took part in an attack on your nation. As we all know from being winged beings, air superiority is essential to our dominance over others, and it simply won't do to have to share our skys with those who can't naturally be a part of it. I'm sure that you have plenty to say on it and other matters though." he said.

We've gone so far as to glance at their coastline a few times but that hasn't left us with any sufficient knowledge other than that we know for sure that they're indeed there, and have been sending ships south. If they are these Ponnsians, then perhaps them invading your country is to explain for their activity. I wonder though, Why'd they want to come all the way down here. This is about as south as any bat pony has ever been, so we really don'tknow what to expect."

"Then that is them, they arrived at my coast over a month ago with large warships and invaded over a misunderstanding that happened with one of my scout ships, Once I gave in so they wouldnt obliterate my capital, they took one of my port cities and now walk around like they own the place just because of their bigger weaponry, I try to make friends with the world and I am taken advantage of and now they walk around my kingdom acting all high and mighty treating my ponies like simpletons!"

"Yes, they tend to. At least the military here allows some pegasi and earth ponies to advance high, unicorns just tend to get high faster. But, to be honest, I don't even know what the Supreme Leader even looks like. The only images we get are some kind of fluffy pony. So I don't even know if he is also a unicorn. He tends to stay in his fortress, only high ranking generals and orderlies ever actually see him in pony."

 

The group soon approached the fortress he was speaking of. The fortress walls loomed over everypony, and there was a lack of any crowds near the walls. A guard approached the group and the captain said, "Excuse me for a moment, I just need to verify our audience with the guards."

"Why yes of course! My guards and I will gladly escort you! It's either that or the piles of paperwork I do daily to maintain the city. Come come, I'm sure you have much to discuss." The mayor motioned to his guards and they headed outside.

And since millitary ios what we do best, i just got access to some secret files that we may share with you,"

They better be good, many ponies here in the capital still remember the large ships blockading the harbor, they also remember the burning airship falling from the sky, speaking of which, I hear thats a popular art piece going around building ponissian soldiers frequent, Ive been hearing reports that paintings of burning airships show up from time to time"

But I have a proposal based upon this new information that the Kaiser might approve. Now I can't make any promises since it would soley depend upon his approval to officially propose, and yours to go through with, but with it seeming to be in the best interest of our nations to be able to defend ourselves, I propose that we rent a piece of your land out as a base, which will provide immediate protection to you should you need it, and give us a chance to observe this potential threat all the while." he said ending with a smile.

"Hmmm, alright. But i also want advanced miltary weapons in return. Do that and you can keep a watch on them. I don't wan't word getting out that I'm getting weapons from you, so listen to this. My skiffs youve seen floating around? their hull is hollow. I could take the money you give me, and put it into those ships to pay your officials to sail here, while you "Misplace" some rifles. These skiffs go to a part of the country out of sight of the Ponnisians" she smirked

@@Skullbuster, He frowned at the idea of having to give weapons and do so lucritively until only rifles were mentioned. He was perfectly fine with giving up what he considered to be basic armament for any soldier. He was intending to flush out a fair chunk of their current rifles for ones of a different design. He smiled at this and knowing he wouldn't have to find a place to store the rifles and could settle for the means of exchange. "It's a deal," he said, "As soon as the Kaiser approves." He laughed a little bit since this was basically a done deal. "In the mean time while he makes his way here, I'd like to know, what is the current state of your nation's military?"

"You know... prototypes... discoveries... weapons. And blueprints of steam engines... maybe even a proper ship. Oh, yeah... that is the way of artists to pay homage to the families of  the dead soldiers. We have many famous paintings, of which many are huge battles, heroic last stands or unique events... That was the first time airships were used in a battle.... and since that one was shot down, therer are many plans on improving its safety."

"Nah... there usually is a painting after each war... of which we had pleanty. There is no reason for it being a reminder... a reemainer of what? A nation protrecting its soil against a invading force... maybe its also a homage towardss your people, proving your heroic stand against superior forces.
