Just recently got my copy of the WWE Encyclopedia from Amazon. Honestly, this is an amazing book, oozing with information. If you need information on a wrestler you forgot about, if you wanna learn about the past and present, or if you need a guide book for the WWE Network, it's really the best book to fill your wrestling needs.

I've made myself feel better about Sting, this is how I've thought of it.

 

In WCW, Sting is a legend and one of the greatest, the character was awesome and not weak.

 

In TNA, still a legend and no matter what in his run, it was fun and great.

 

And finally, save the worst for last........ in WWE, he was just Steve Borden in facepaint.

There are 2 things, why the things Wrestling did in the 60s, 70s and 80s don't work these days anymore.

 

1. Wrestling has been exposed. Vince Mcmahon came out in 1987 about it and then Jim Herd (President of WCW from 1988-1991) came out with it 2 years later and with the internet also being in everybodies lifes, everything is served on a plate for you. The only people that like Wrestling are the hardcores, because casuals don't enjoy fake fighting.

 

2. The UFC pretty much does everything that an old school wrestling promotion did, except that their fights are actually real. People like to chat for guys like Connor Mcgregor, Robbie Lawler, Ryan Bader, etc. because they are real and because they have Charisma. The UFC, is the best Prowrestling promotion out there right now and that's why no one gives hoof about fake fighting.

The kimura, the inverted triangle choke, & the twister submission (regal stretch without the leg lock). Hard to pull off stuff that just looks painful. Also, I like slicer submissions, stuff that actually targets muscles. Think AJ's Calf-crusher. That is legit, though he could hone his technique a bit more.
