I'd say Trips is next on the chopping block, in line for a massive severance cheque, but then I remembered that WWE still have Jeremy Borash and Joeseph Parks to future endeavor.

Triple H on the chopping block? This ain't Dubya Cee Dubya! :P

What would be left for Hunter to do, be a figurehead with no real authority?

Somepony call Mike Tyson to be the enforcer. I hear he helped make Stone Cold Steve Austin famous. :mlp_smug:

Yeah little Mike helping that green horn Stunning Steve get over.

On a completely unrelated note, wtachign the NOAH vs. NJPW show. Chatting with Kevin Kelly on Twitter during the show. Pointed out a commentary flub about Minoru Suzuki on air, about him being IWGP champ when he wasn't. He acknowledged it and said 'should've been kinda counts right?' I told him that's up for King Suzuki himself to decide.

He liked that tweet.

Right on! Kevin Kelly was actually a good  commentator in WWF from the little bit I've heard from him in the early days of the Attitude Era.

It's a shame he was relegated to backstage commentator/The Rock's straight man.

So, it looks like Impact Wrestling has opened the forbiddendoor with WWE.

And I will say that I'm not really happy about this.

Why not? It'll get people talking plus, it's Mickie James who is a former multi-time WWE Women's Champion.

I don't think Mickie James is going to win or anything just a return pop, maybe an elimination or two and that's it.

So funny thing about that. Wwe only have 21 women for their rumble. Mickie is being called in for a favor. Clownshoes didn't know and VinnyMac didn't care. Either way, Mickie is coming in with a lot of buzz, from WWE opening the forbidden doggie door to her main event death match vs. Dianna Perazzo at Hard to kill, a show I do reccomend checking out.

It's surprising Dunn didn't know and Vince McMahon "not caring" doesn't seem like him.

Maybe a modern day WWF/ECW type of working relationship is brewing.

Dunn wouldn't know. He's a TV director. Not talent relations. Clowshoes = Johnny Ace.

And I think this is a one off. No mention of any WWE guys at the impact tapings. Mickie just happened to be the biggest name in women's wrestling right now. VKM is more of an any means necessary type of guy. Doesn't matter how, just get it done. The whole 'no borders' line is just buzz words.

I get Kevin Dunn and Johnny Ace's unofficial nicknames confused confused. :P

Blah! I was hoping to see MSK battle The Young Bucks on the WrestleMania: Backlash 2022 pre-show. :P

  • 2 weeks later...

Welp, this week has been in a week in news. Let's sum thigns up:

  • MLW is suing WWE for monopoly and contract tampering
  • Cody Rhodes is a free agent
  • WWE's top lawyer and McMahon family friend of 35 years is retiring
  • Broken Matt and Brother Nero are reuniting
  • Mox is returning at GCW's first Hammerstein show
  • The ROH invasion of Impact continued, with the return of Maria Kanelis, who brought her husband Mike Kanelis Benette, who brought his tag partner from The Kingdom, Matt Taven, who brought his tag partner from The Kingdom 2.0, Vincient Marsaglia, who just happened to be followed there by Mounty turned Frankenstein, PCO, who proceeded to beat down D-Lo BRown and Harass new announcer., the former Todd Phillips.
  • There was also an ROH vs. Impact match set up from Final Battle as Women of Honor champ. Rok-C defended against AAA Reina de Reina's champ. Dianna Perazzo.
Spoiler

Perazzo def. Rok-C to become the new WOH champion, suggesting that ROk-C is WWE bound.

  • WALTER fought Roderick Strong on last nights NXT. It was good, as expected. But then NXT confirmed our worst fears when news of a trademark filing came out yesterday. WALTER, the guy who was UK champ for over two years, has officially changed his name to GUNTHER. Full trademark name, Gunther Stark. This Austrian wrestler, was assigned the name, after a quick google search, of a Third Reich U-boat captain.

:yeahno: This fricking company.

Jerry McDevitt  is  one of those names I see where I immediately think of WWE.

How? Isn't Cody Rhodes an Executive Vice President of AEW or whatever The Elite's made up (For them.) title is?

Guess wrestling and producer contracts are separate deals. Cody even admitted in his promo that he didn't receive the contract he wanted. Though all of this could be a work.

I have a feeling that it is a work since AEW is basically Cody's baby, so to speak.

And GCW: The WRLD is airing tonight on FITE TV for only $25 from the MSG of the indies, the Hammerstein. And it's looking pretty stacked with a lot of Impact, ROH & AEW names in what's feeling like a modern successor to ECW.

r/SquaredCircle - Card for tonight's The Wrld on GCW 2022.

Welp GCW: The WRLD happened. It was a show alright.

Spoiler

Didn't catch the two openers.

Ladder match was stunt crazy and contrived, but there some wonky botches and the ending kinda fell flat.

Trios tag team match was completely nuts. Absolute mad men in there.

Gresham couldn't make the show, so Blake Chirstian fought Lio Rush in a very good bout.

Cardona vs. Janela was peak ECW chicanery, in more ways than one. Cardona is getting more heat than MJF. Came out to a lousy cover of Enter Sandman, a "If Cardona wins, We Riot" T-Shirt and an F:mellow:K Mick Foley flannel vest. just to really rub it in.  Swoggle interfered. He got taken out by Marco Stunt. They replicated ECW:ONS '06 by having Janela get speared through a table by a dude in a biker helmet, who turned out to be former Edge head Bryan Myers.

X-pac got the loudest pop of his career for running out to do a save. He looks in pretty good shape.

Bill Alfonzo and Sabu helped win an impromptu match(?), with the crowd singing over Pantera's Walk.

Ruby Soho and Allie Catch had an okay match proceed by a weak promo package.

Missed Jarrett vs. Effy but apparently Jarrett can still go.

Mox vs. Homicide was passable. Homicide is showing his wear and tear though.

And the Briscoes challenge was answered by Matt Tremont and Nick Gage. A match that started strong but ended very abruptly. Looks like GCW had a hard curfew and they ran long on a few matches. They crammed in a 'fill the ring and drink beer' spot and then faded to black.

Overall, good first half, weak last half. Poor pacing and lack of direction. Felt like the worst parts of All In and ECW: ONS mixed together. Good parts in there but many of the same mistakes were made. This may satisfy the GCW die hards but this was a mediocre showing to any new fans tuning in to see them on their biggest stage.

Ladder matches are always like that.

"Set-up the next sequence and try not to make it look obvious." is not something you see when you watch a match like that. :P

Jeff Jarrett is like Dustin Rhodes. They'll wrestle until they physically can't anymore and even then they'll swerve and prove you wrong. :orly:
