Any Pro-Wrestling Fans Around?

Well I'd advise going back and watching the stuff he's done, especially this past year. He only debuted at Wrestlekingdom 9 and had a damn good match w/ Kushida last year. Probably what opened everyone eyes were his ladder match w/ Micheal Elgin & his performance during the G1 Climax tournament.

As for the super clique? I've watched Cole and the bucks for a long time. Even got my ROH allied forces DVD signed by the combatants of the ROH title match when they were a tag team: Cole and O'Reily.

Cole is a solid performer w/ great mic skills. He's been on WWE's shopping list for a while. Might head on over once his contract expires in April. He's the next top villain for sure.

The bucks? They've pretty much been the internet's favorite tag team.  They've made the super kick cool again. They're merchandising machines. They put on crazy high flying stunt work during their matches. Probably one of the most fluid teams today. And they're kinda funny to watch with their shenanigans. The bucks are part of what made Bullet Club so popular.

Heck, even during their misuse in TNA, they had soem excellent matches.

Now Adam's stuff is a bit harder to find, as ROH are pretty stringent on what stuff of theirs gets uploaded.

In case anypony hasn't followed the WWE Hall of Fame, the first 2 inductees to be announced were Diamond Dallas Page and "Ravishing" Rick Rude.

What do you think of these choices? Who would you like to see go in this year?

Oh heck yes.

I am a big fan of Ravishing Rick Rude. He had everything. Great body, great promo, great in ring worker, great everything. I would've put him in years ago. :D

DDP is also an understatement. I think he was the biggest babyface during the reign of the NWO, even bigger then Sting IMO. And he proved then you can still fulfill your dreams, even if people say that you are too old to start with wrestling in your early 30s. And i also think that his match with Goldberg at Halloween Havoc 98 was maybe Goldbergs best match. :)

I wonder who else will get inducted. I think the original Tiger Mask (Satoru Sayama) would also be a great inductee. He was not only a former WWF Junior Heavyweight champion, he also helped make wrestling big in japan. His matches with Dynamite Kid and Bret Hart in the early 80s where far ahead of their time. Also, it would fit considering there is a new Tiger Mask Anime running right now. :)

@@Denim&Venom,

Thank you so much for going through all that trouble, I really appreciate it.

Also, for some reason I always pictured Michael Elgin as a skinny guy, show's how little I know about

"other" wrestling.

In other news, sources say that it seems more and more likely that former ROH Champion Kyle O Reilly will soon join the WWE. After the kinda shocking ROH title change at Wrestle Kingdom 11, which in my opinion kinda ruined his big moment at Final Battle, this seems like the only reason for me.

Also, The Hardys could be soon back in the WWE. Their TNA contracts are expiring by the end of the month and they have not resigned. TNA wants them exclusively on their promotion but the Hardys like to wrestle in multiple promotions, like WCPW. I guess the WWE want the sweet money from their gimmicks that are over with fans (not me though. :P)

On one hand, i can see the hardys wanting the merchandise money, but at the same time, it means a bigger schedule. Eitherway, i could care less about them.

I've heard about O'Reily. I've also heard from PWI that he might be pursing a deal w/ live streaming network Flo Sports. And if exclusivity is the issue for the Hardy's not resigning w/ TNA, then WWE is an even less likely endeavor with how much creative freedom will be taken away.

Has anybody seen the new logo for Impact Wrestling?

sig-4788564.tna-impact-wrestling-new-log

(sorry that it's so small. Couldn't find anything better)

What is this? Is the eagle supposed to symbolize anything?

I will give TNA the benefit of the doubt right now, considering that Dixie Carter is now finally out, but this logo just dosen't look appealing to me.

Also, don't be paniced by any hints about Kenny Omega going to WWE, even if Omega says it himself. Omega has a history of working his Twitter followers, which makes him an even better heel in my opinion. :P

EDIT: on closer look, the Impact logo reminds me of the fly by night album cover from Rush.

The owl is actually part of the Anthem sports and entertainment logo.

They are taking this rebranding effort seriously. But it's a fair price for a TNA with less suck.

@@Denim&Venom,

At what point did TNA Wrestling stop being interesting to You?

For me, it was when Christian (Cage) went back to WWE.

It's been an on and off relationship. Just when things start looking good, I get burned.  The last straw was pretty much after Joe, Styles, Daniels, Kaz, and Sabin all left. Combined with the debuting American Wolves wrestling a toned down, pale imitation of what made them fun to watch in ROH, and I just gave up.  I tried getting back into it a few times in '15-16. But I just found myself bored, even while watching a street fight and the Wolves wrestle Aries & Rhoode. I haven't had any real reason to go back.

Same here, it just felt depressing for me when I tried so many times to get back into watching the show again.

Not even Mathew Moore's broken brilliance will drag me back in. Why watch that pre-filmed drama when I've got Lucha Underground? If I wanted funny, I'd watch DDT pro & Chikara. Stiff striking, high flying action involving all the guys who left? NJPW, ROH & NXT.

When you see stuff like WrestleKingdom, you can't really go back to such mediocrity. Which is why I've stopped watching Raw a few months back.

After Aces & Eights ultimately disbanded.

They were the last worthwhile storyline there, IMO.

That initially got me re-invested. The intreague of this outsider biker gang. But then it just became another pseudo-nWo crew w/ another 'Higher power' reveal. Pretty sure I left again a few months after.

Yes, it was.

P.S.: He and Cesaro definitely don't skip leg day.

Swiss Supes vs. Calf-Zilla. It would be a good match if WWE would let it.

You know, i always like to go back to older wrestling, not necessarily because i hate todays stuff, but it was just a different feel at that time and i like to look at that. :P

Recently, i kinda made a habit of it to watch Raw and Nitro shows from 97 and 98 and it's a bit sad to see that there will most likely never be such a wrestling boom again like at that time, because of the things that happend to Time Warner and that Vince then bought them out for measly 2 million bucks.

I will say flatout, that i was mostly a WWE guy, during the monday night wars. But at the same time, i like some of the Stuff that WCW did. The Cruiserweights for example got put on the map in WCW, since there where only known in Mexico and Japan at that point. And for awhile, i liked the NWO, but i always thought the Main Event picture in WWE was stronger with the young guys they had at the time like Rock, Austin, Kane, Foley, etc. Eventhough i also liked guys like DDP, Sting and most of all Ric Flair.

But i think it was never a good idea to put WCW out of business and eventhough some WCW fans don't want to admit it, it would've also been bad the other way around. They both needed eachother. It's kinda like Coke and Pepsi. They are both the most popular soft drinks and they both have large camps for years now. But the fact is they both need eachother and it's very successful.

These days, WWE can be as bad as they want and no one will be there to stop them. RoH is just doing their stuff, TNA is making parties for surviving another year and while i wish New Japan would maybe get bigger, the problem is just the fact that they are based in Japan and that the xenophobia could be a problem.

So yeah, random rant from myself. :P

Just heard the news that Bill Goldberg signed a 3 match deal with the WWE. He will have a match at the Royal Rumble (already confirmed that he will be in the Rumble itself,) one match at the Raw PPV Fastlane and one match Wrestlemania.

So it's obvious now that Goldberg will be out again after Wrestlemania, eventhough people hoped he will have a run as champ (which i knew from the very start, that it's unrealistic,) but i am curious who he will face at Fastlane, because i didn't expected him there.

I would like to say that Vince Mcmahon ended the wrestling boom. But even without him buying out, WCW would still have crumbled. VKM didn't kill WCW. The execs of AOL-Time Warner and their choice to take WCW off of TV ended things.
