ooc FIGHT! (Battle, Fighting, Tournament, Maybe some SoL)

Yeah, this is pretty much it right here. A tournament is great, but unless you have people willing to take a dive, there really needs to be a better story. Thankfully, I am keeping my character on the mysterious side. More will be developed as the story goes on, but that's just one character. There needs to be a bigger story. A story that addresses why this tournament is happening in the first place. Is it happening in secret, or is it being allowed legally for some reasons? Is there something bigger going on, and if so, how will it affect all the tournament finalist?

Agree with you. But wait. If this is not legal, and the prize is a wish, the last thing the organizators would want is somepony that would wish the ressurections of his opponents. Or end the organization itself. So the bosses of the arena need someone to check out who is good and who will wish anything that wouldn't disturb the tournament cycle. The one that won't screw the system.

Did you questioned yourself why Lemon Slices has a Dream Recorder which records thoughts? Is he a good weapon to the bosses?

BAM!

Conspiration!

Lemon Slices is suspect!

He will lead the conspiracy, but will fool his partners! Everyone will die, he will die, but the bosses know everything.

Yeah, I understand. Any RP-host don't want ruined plots.

Just consider the conspiracy like a minor thing. Anyway, what's the chance of the three ponies survive the first round? Very low.

However, I have a question: When the first round takes place in the story, we will let everybody fighting at the same time? Wouldn't it let the RP confused? I am not suggesting nothing, just asking myself

So, if everybody follow this concept, nobody would lose. Everybody wants to win, nobody will take damage, battles would be endlessly, there will be no winner where the plot demands someone.

You put too little faith in the hearts of bronies, "Home Slice."

If someone convinces me that they hurt Steel with overwhelming force or such, I will write him as receiving of the damage. If it seems I loose, then I will loose.

After exploring some more, Samurai manages to find a cafeteria that is open to the public. Some might see quite a lot of choices to choose from, but Samurai is being picky. This western food isn't really his style. "Hmm... Gaijins really eat this stuff? Well, how bad can it be?"

Just for confirmation, your guy is still from Equestria right?

Why is everypony being so critical of this setup? (In-character and out.)

Can't there just be a fighting tournament being held with a wish granted as a prize? There is such things as this happening on Earth all the time. Martial arts exhibitions and such.

Wish granting? It's Equestria! They have magic. I'm sure granting a wish, while maybe rare, isn't completely impossible.

(Does this mean Steel Accord entered Photon Jet's room? Because if that's the case...)

Photon Jet jumped in surprise when he saw Steel Accord in his room. "Woah! I didn't expect you to be here. You could've just knocked on the door." he told him. He then realised who he was talking to. "Oh. You must be Steel Accord, my first opponent in this tournament."

Sorry. I thought you were a shared rec room. I will adjust my post accordingly. Please rectify that I entered at all.

Also, I'm pretty sure our opponents are unknown to us in-character.

Yes, but not from Ponyville or Canterlot. He's from Japon (the ponified version of Japan). While they mean no harm or malice, they are always careful about outsiders.  :) And yes, I know, technically my character is the outsider here. He's still getting use to that fact, so he might occasionally forget that he's not in Japon anymore.

Ah, you understood the joke, huh? Sushi, Asian stereotypes...

Just a question: Japonese ponies do eat just rice+seaweed in sushi? No salmon? Oh...

I got the joke for the most part.

And since ponies in Equestria are herbivorous in nature, so are the Japonese. So, basically, they eat all your average Asian dishes, just no meat.

I don't know. That strikes me as odd though. Equestria seems almost universally a united nation. They all speak the same language and none seem to regard the other as a kind of "outsider." The only exception being Canterlot nobility, and even then, the sentiment was more elitist than cultural and only expressed by Upper Crust and Jet Set.

It just seems odd that you would call anypony "foreigner." Neither Samurai, nor the pony he's talking to are "the outsider", they're from the same country even if different parts of it.

Adding to that, the only times I've heard the word gajin expressed, it was always in a negative context.

Why do you consider foreign characters particularly amazing?

Please don't step on my creativity. This is how I express myself. I wanted a Japanese pony, so I made one. Besides, I think you might be confusing Brony culture with actual Pony culture on the TV show. You all ready provided an example, there are more characters on the show that are less than united or automatically accepting, sometimes for no traceable reason. But if you are really so concerned about my character, why don't you take some time to get to know him rather than criticize?

And I'm not sure Equestria can be thought of in the same context as your average united nation. I'd almost call Equestria more like the name of the planet, though I can't be fully sure. Celestia and Luna rule over everything, but there are still lesser rulers who have their own way of doing things. Even the Crystal Empire has its own princess and calls itself an Empire; which kind of defies logic if there is all ready one or two grand princesses that rule over everything.

Point is, let's not sweat the small stuff. The show keeps things mostly lighthearted and fun and just allows thing to be. Let's try to learn from example. :)

@@Samurai Equine,

Whoah, hold your horses, I meant no offense to you or your creativity! I said it was "odd" nothing more.

There's a lot of odd things about FiM. French is a language that exists, even if there is no actual France (though a ponified version may exist). There is a Saddle Arabia, and there is no telling how similar it is to Saudi Arabia. All the princesses, except for Twilight, have armored guards. When I made my character, I tried hard not to step on any toes. I just made a pony that COULD exist canonically.

If it's about the 'gaijin' comment, try not to over think it. It was never meant to be a negative comment, nor would he say it to a pony's face. He'd happily give every pony an equal chance to represent themselves.  :)

And honestly, I've seen pony OCs much worse than mine. Mary Sue/Gary Stu alicorns, assassins, you name it. I try not to think too much about it.  :yay:

My only problem is that Japon, from Samurai's interaction seems to draw on Japan's history of isolationism. That doesn't make for a friendly neighbor within Equestria, me thinks.

I'm a nerd, overthinking is what I do.

If you didn't mean it as an insult or elitist remark, I believe you. In my personal experience though, as I said, it's always been used as an insult to someone. Marking them as "something else." Which just seems odd, nothing more, coming from a pony of Equestria.

And honestly, I've seen pony OCs much worse than mine. Mary Sue/Gary Stu alicorns, assassins, you name it. I try not to think too much about it.

And in an RP such as this, I have my share of problems with them as well.

In fact most of these OCs seem wildly out of place. I'm only focusing on you precisely because Samurai seems otherwise pretty close to canon.

I may just be misunderstanding how he sees others is all.
