When Samurai lands on the ground, obviously a very weighted landing, the fire from his horn instead hits the floor and spreads out in a short perimeter around him before going out. He has no idea where Vertic went, but it's a good thing she kept her distance. If she stayed close, the residual flames might have caught her.

 

Samurai was looking around, trying to find Vertic. He was almost getting worried until she made herself known, and Samurai faces her. Then he watches her run circles around him. To which, Samurai smiles. "Very good, Vertic! You are truly worthy. I hope, when this is all over, we can still be friends... Magic Horn EXTEND!!!" Samurai casts the same spell, but instead of aiming his extending horn at Vertic, he aims it at the ground.

 

With the magic of his extending horn, Samurai pole vaults out of Vertic's circle but lands very close to where she'll be! And when his horn retracts, he takes careful aim, and... "Flaming Horn Attack." He sets her flank on fire.

 

No, it's not lethal. It just burns very badly.

Steel watched from the box and nodded in appreciation. Samurai's heavy frame belied an unexpected agility and his magic was more direct than the more spell caster type unicorns he knew. Sipping his drink, he also admired how polite he was being to his opponent. Steel knew he would be less than cordial to a fighter that relied on surprise and stealth.

While checking the poster, he had a BIG surprise.

 

"Nooooooo..... I will lose, I will lose, I already lost... I won't win this thing. That wax mechanics will melt, my thought recorder will burn, oh, it's all lost."

Neon just sat in his room, thinking. He eventually began to talk to himself, as he heard a voice speaking to him as he felt like a patient in a mental asylum.

 

"How long has it been?"

 

Since when?

 

"Since I last roamed the streets of ponyville, or soared across cloudsdale?"

 

It feels like days, weeks, or even years. Doesn't it?

 

"I just have to think... Think."

 

Thinking is what's killing you.

Quickly, Vertic blocks the attack with her metal axe. "Woo, calm down. you're getting fired up there. And imagine if this whole arena burned up, it woudn't be fun.." Within a nanosecond, Vertic kicks the samurai (in some way, at least) then disappeared out of sight..well maybe only, Samurai's eyes are pretty sharp, so he COULD know where Vertic now is, she was worried about that.

"An axe?!"

Samurai, for once, wasn't fast enough to evade the kick. The fact that she even had one was enough to catch him by surprise. He falls back near the edge of the arena, and he finds he has lost sight of Vertic. "She's fast!"

 

"There's one thing I can do that might work... But it's a gamble." Samurai thinks to himself. Then, he steps up and huddles over, disappearing inside his armor like a turtle hiding in its shell.

"..." Vertic still hid and kept silent, she knows that her opponent will pop up and attack her any moment if she came close to the piece of armour. Vertic is quite impatient, she tried her best, Vertic moaned silently. She does not want to get attacked, yet this is how it's going to stay if nopony will attack and hide like this. What would Vertic or Samurai do?

Ash growled in annoyance as he watched the fight develop into a glorified game of hide and seek. This wasn’t what a tournament like this was meant for. Quickly losing his patience the dragon stood out of his seat and roared before yelling down at the arena below. ”Stop hiding and fight you cowards!”

"Seaweed-Eater and the Hider. Good nicknames, I guess. This fight is going to last very, very long."

"I need another orange, meditation, and" suddenly the monitor was fading to static "Wait, what?"

He realized a magnet fell of the wings near to the television, and was causing a little headache in Lemon.

"Oh, my little magnet... This kind of metal sucks every kind of energy... " *Cough Cough* His Changer started to change randomly his coat color. Lemon, heavily breathing, successfully put the magnet into one of the gears, balancing the energy streaming of the room.

"I need to take care of those things".

"If you say so, I'm no normal coward." Vertic stepped out of her fighting place, waiting for Samurai to stop hiding too. No more hiding it is. "Now would you mind to stop hiding in your turtle shell? This cannot be a little hide and seek game, you know that right?"

If Vertic had been paying attention, the shell of his armor is making subtle movements, and some... clicking noises?

The armor is locking together!

 

"Flaming Horn ATTACK!!!" ZOOM! Like a racing car, the armor spills out Samurai's fire and goes into some kind of peel out attack! It's spinning fast and headed right for Vertic. In fact, it can leap up and hover in the air, never losing speed or momentum. Getting hit by this thing would be like getting hit in the face by Sonic the Hedgehog!

Vertic eyes widened as the fire went straight for her, she was surprised. Vertic stood still as the flames zoomed into her. All she could see now is white..seconds later, she could only see with her right eye. Vertic's left pupil turned grey, she coudn't see through the left eye anymore. She got up, her mane, tail and even parts of her hoof casts are burnt, left with the colour charcoal black. She was mad, crazy mad. Vertic ran as fast as she can, running towards Samurai, grabbing her axe. Vertic jumped at striked at Samurai, at least 10 times. She doesn't know wether the attack will kill him or make him unconscious or do nothing at all, she doesn't know why she was doing it, but all Vertic was thinking and know is to attack Samurai.

When Vertic strikes, Samurai hadn't canceled his 'flying wheel' attacking that he made with his armor. The first few strikes actually manage to bash a few holes in the armor. However, after about the 5th or 6th gash, the fire stops. Samurai pops out of the armor and grabs the axe handle with one hoof and Vertic's arm with his other hoof.

 

"She may have advantage of speed, but agility and strength are mine!" Samurai thinks in that split second where his eyes are locked with Vertic's. And using his strength and the last of his airborne momentum, he lifts Vertic over his shoulder and slams her against the arena floor! A move more often seen in wresting and certain martial arts.

Ugh, this won't come to a good end..for me at least. Vertic thought to herself. But I won't think about giving up..Not even in my dreams. 

She lies there,pretending to not move and close her eyes. This might not work..but who knows? I can pretend that I am defeat, after he stops attacking me I'll get up.

Samurai is back on his hooves once more. Looks like his attack worked?

...

Samurai kicks her axe as far away as he can, but lets it stay in the arena. He then taps Vertic's side.

Nudge. Nudge.

Nothing.

Still, he stands over her. "You may or may not be unconscious right now, but even so, I'm not going to kill you. Nor am I going to kill anypony here. It's not my way, and that's not how I win my battles."

 

Samurai steps away then looks around for a referee, preferably Tella or Tune.

Vertic got up but then something came to her mind. Wait..what if the referee thinks I'm cheating? What if they think I was knocked unconscious but then got up again..? If they do, how will Vertic explain? She doesn't know. (Neither do I XD) So Vertic stood there.
