Workout / Exercise Music

What music do you (mostly) listen to when you workout?

This, for instance, is the song I usually play (I love trap!) when I workout:

What about you?

All of a sudden I'm reminded of the generic mainstream pop and stuff that they played in my high school gym. I don't even necessarily mind that kind of music in theory, but it had pretty much the opposite effect of getting me pumped for a workout. To be honest I don't really workout anymore, partly because work leaves me sore enough already, but if I did, the first song that comes to mind for workout music is "Cold Metal" by Iggy Pop. Then the other one that I thought of as I was writing this is "Boom Boom Mancini" by Warren Zevvon.

I guess that shows how much my dad's music taste has rubbed off on me. I'm kind of proud of that, in a way.

I don't usually listen to my own music at the gym, I just listen to whatever radio station happens to be playing (it changes regularly for some reason but it is usually the same sort of stuff: high energy mainstream pop/rap/edm and sometimes a station that plays more old school "hip hop" kinda stuff such as Missy Elliot, Craig David, Nelly etc. Sometimes there is stuff I don't like (in my case, nicki minaj!) that will come on but I just kinda power through my work out and ignore it xD

If given the choice or if I decide to try and workout at home, I like to put on some edm, dubstep sorta music though I don't mind pop music. Ellie Goulding dubstep remixes are usually a go to or failing that, Pendulum :)

It just so happened I posted this in another thread moments ago. This is one of my favorite training songs. I'm not going to put videos of all of them here, but I'll list a selection of titles here (long list ahead):

Dinand Woesthoff - Legendary Lane

Maroon 5 - Animals

Black Veil Brides - In The End

Linkin Park - In The End

Jay Z. ft. Linkin Park - Numb/Encore

Funkist - Snow Fairy

Santa Esmeralda - Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood

Tomoyasu Hotei - Battle Without Honor Or Humanity

Vangelis - Anthem 2002

Tinie Tempah ft. Eric Turner - Written In The Stars

The Script - Hall Of Fame

Shocking Lemon - Under Star

Saber Tiger - Eternal Loop

Wassurennaneyo - Yakan Hikou

Last Alliance - Hekireki

Pay Money To My Pain - Weight Of My Pride

Coldrain - 8 AM

Rise Against - Give It All

Prince Whateverer - Frailty

Imagine Dragons - Bleeding Out

Imagine Dragons - Radioactive

Imagine Dragons - It's Time

The Rainbooms - Awesome As I Wanna Be

The Dazzlings - Battle

Eminem - Not Afraid

Tsuneo Imahori - Irradiation

Tsuneo Imahori - Stand Proud

Tsuneo Imahori - Vagabond

Tsuneo Imahori - Silent Eyes

Tsuneo Imahori - At Last

Tsuneo Imahori - Black and Blue

I'm fairly certain I left out a great number of tracks, but these are the first one that came to mind. (Incidentally, I didn't forget Eye Of The Tiger...I used to have it in the list but it began to annoy me, whereas I still like all of these.)

EDIT: There's one special mention here, I feel. It's a song I only allow myself to listen to after truly achieving something, i.e. winning a tournament. That song is Star Trek Enterprise's opening theme Faith of the Heart. Last time I listened to it was in October, when I won my first tournament. It holds this special place solely for its lyrics:

"It's been a long road getting from there to here

it's been a long time, but my time is finally here

and I can feel the change in the wind right now,
nothings in my way
and they're not gonna hold me down no more,
no they're not gonna hold me down"

You can never go wrong w/ heavy metal: the ultimate workout music.

Mah BROTHER!

Now THIS is the song to get you pumped!

And though it's a change of pace, who doesn't love this one?

And then Amon Amarth/Vader/possibly Amaranthe for the rest.
