Obscure but good tourism spots in US and Canada

Hi,

I'm planning some sort of vacation/roadtrip thingy with my friends in the US and Canada. I'm hoping to visit all 50 states and most of the provinces/territories. Its obvious what I'm going to do in places like New York, Hawaii, Toronto etc.

What about places like New Jersey, Alaska or The Yukon? Can you give me some good but obscure tourism spots?

The only reason why I would go to cities like Baltimore would be for Bronycon because I don't know much about them.

Also Delaware. What's in Delaware?

PS: The trip will be split throughout the months/years because if I do it all in one go it would probably take ages :P

Well, I currently live in Saskatchewan and honestly there's not much here unless you like hunting, fishing, or snowmobiling. If you go to Alberta though, I'd recommend going to Banff. It's a really cool mountain town with all sorts of nature-y stuff and hot springs and what-not.

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and the main tourist spot is San Francisco. The number one thing to see there is the Golden Gate Bridge. Don't forget to ride the Cable Car and check out the Ferry Building, Fisherman's Wharf, Lombard Street, Chinatown, Japantown, Golden Gate Park, the museums, and many more. Also, when you're in California, don't forget to try In-N-Out Burger. It's what's popular in California.

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.

, please be careful when you travel, especially if you are interested in obscure destinations. If a destination is obscure it is obscure for a reason. There are many benign reasons for why this happens, but there are just as many seriously dangerous reasons for why this happens. Just make sure to be very careful about where you choose to go, and adhere to basic safety practices. Don't allow yourself to be scammed, fooled, or hoodwinked by anyone. If something sounds too good to be true, it is. Travel with a few friends if possible, and arm yourself with both lethal and nonlethal weapons as long as you adhere to the varying laws presiding in the areas you visit.

That out of the way, I'm sure you could find a lot of info about this by digging deep into the internet. As I said though, just be careful. Things like the movie Hostel might seem outlandish. And in reality, the likelihood of something like that happening is pretty damn low unless you go somewhere really bad. But the fact of the matter is that things like that, and worse, do happen in real life sometimes.

Travel and have fun, I really want to travel a ton some day too. Don't live life in fear. Just be smart about what you do. Don't act without thinking.
