How to escape your box of deppresion

How would you escape the box of depression. Imagine you're brain wearing sunglasses and the only thing you find in good things are just dark and you never take them off because you're brain sees nothing but darkness and the glasses are attached to you're head. For some people never find a way to escape the vision or as some may call it the box but its not impossible. This may lead to killing yourself or never again leaving your house to find the good in the world. What would you do to escape?

Lol. I always think of dark things. I guess the worst bit about that would be it's darker for for your brain so it would think it's night time and make you sleepy.

normally for me, it goes away when i do things that makes me happy.
but if that fails i just go to my family or friends. that also helps me.

Depression for me is something that comes and goes. What I need to realize is that life is a series of highs and lows. While the lows definitely suck a better day is just around the corner. It's important to give yourself some creative leeway to put a wip down when you don't have the strength to be creative and positive about your work. Or work on something that channels that current glum mood (if you can). Also complaining to a friend can help lift that cloud sooner. Saying "I should just quit" when these moods hit isn't constructive and often just stops all your creative energy which can be used in a more constructive manner.

If depression is a constant problem and you can't escape it, get professional help. You won't do it on your own if it is that bad a problem. You may need medication if you have a chemical imbalance or someone to talk to if you seriously need to work through unresolved issues or make steps to fix problems in your life.

Hmm.

Being with people who love you and know you well....going for a walk, fresh air. Sunshine.

Manual labour (like doing dishes) is proven to reduce stress.

hmmm.

Sometimes it's just about getting over yourself and putting your issues into perspective.

It's different for everyone.

Well the glasses can't always just simply be taken off. Sometimes they're flex taped to my head. They have to be taken off slowly, removing a little darkness at a time, until there comes a point where more light is showing than dark.

Depression can be beaten, but not by wallowing in the darkness and refusing to make an effort to escape it. Okay, depression can cause fatigue, which diminishes the impetus to take the steps needed to escape. But think proactively; avoid the trap of self-pity because it forces you to relive causes of pain and suffering under the guise of gratification and self-sympathy, and drags you down further. You need a plan; give yourself a goal that sparks your interest, set tasks for yourself to reach that goal, and give yourself rewards for each success along the way toward achieving that end. It also helps to change your surroundings and keep things fresh. Daylight releases endorphins on the brain, and so does exercise, which can have additional benefits. If you have family or friends who can help, enjoy their positive company. If you need medication to overcome something pathological, or therapy for something psychological, get to a doctor for consultation and treatment. But don’t wait, get it done and get on with living your life, even if it’s just one step at a time.

You don’t get to escape. You get to stay here in this box with me and your demons forever. Now sit tight because we’re watching the Spice Girls movie
