Alright fast sum up here we go 

 

We all originally met up in ponyville where as we were all in Chip's gunshop a tank rolled through ponyville, with members of the salvation (a cult sort of speak who thinks a spore based virus is the true salvation of the wasteland) operating it. They wanted to remain in Ponyville overnight.

 

Originally they were allowed to stay but were hassled about leaving their tank running, so they left. turns out the tank was spewwing out the virus the whole time it was running infecting a lot of ponies. they quickly died from bleeding out through their eyes and ears.

 

The group were infuriated by what they saw and were commanded by the leader of ponyville to follow the tank. 

 

We are now at the barn/farmhouse after killing the salvation troops who were with the tank.

. . . Wait Ponyville has regular survivors living in it?! In the story it was a Raider town!

 

Okay, give it to me straight, I can take some small changes but is there anything about the original story's canon we're keeping?

Also as far as scavenging/things being conveniently there goes, I'm going to try to be stricter on it, y'know to really give the roleplay the fallout treatment of unfairness.
