Right now we're deciding to split up or not crackshot and chip made their points. Chip doesn't consider himself a leader of the group so he's not making the call, but he will probably accompany Dashia since he hardly knows Allie.

As well as Crackshot is waiting on virtue.

I've been getting more into writing fanfics, mainly MLP since it has such a deep pool of creativity to pull from.

I'm good with character and story concepts, so if you need help with a fanfic or something feel free to Private message me

But don't be hurt if I have to decline if I'm tapped out for a bit. Otherwise I'm fairly good at it just sometimes I have to let my mind subconsciously think of some ideas.

What plans are those?

I'm up for anything. Just not much of a leader.

Only problem with those examples is that we do not know their speech or charisma

No but considering one is a telepathic super-mind, one is an artificial intelligence, and one is a herculean barbarian; having maxed speech and charisma should easily persuade an Wasteland pony, no matter how "intelligent" that pony is.

I'm really intrigued to see what the teams will look like, though that's probably my love for video games with team creating features coming out

I still beg to differ since we aren't factoring intelligence, perception, backgrounds, speech, beliefs and the fact that they are NPCs. Like for instance, if Virtue found herself cornered by slavers and by herself I'm more than sure she wouldn't be able to convince them to kill at each other, it's just absurd! However, if she convinced the leader to not kill/enslave her then I would be alright with it.

That's not what I meant. Certainly in the game you can't talk your way out of every situation. Raiders aren't going to let you get a work in and last time I checked at least, the Talon Company Mercs can't be talked down when they first approach you, but when extended dialogue IS happening and when Virtue plays the Speech/Charisma card as long as it's RPed right, she's speaking the Word of God as far as the Fallout universe is concerned.

It's like Varrick from Dragon Age, when he starts talking, he's already won.

How will we know when its RPed right? I still think that is too OP for my taste and for the fallout equestria universe taste, its like saying she can talk out a Unity Alicorn from slaying her after like two posts.

In combat? No, because she's not really in a listening mood. But Velvet Remedy was able to turn some "allied purely for survival" alicorns into her personal bodyguards in the space of one conversation.

My central point that I'm desperately trying to get across is not that smooth words can solve all the world's problems in the Fallout universe, if that were the case it wouldn't be a pose-nuclear apocalypse. No, it's that even as the GM you shouldn't be able to wave certain NPCs immune to our perks, S.P.E.C.I.A.L., and skills "just because", otherwise it renders all the time and effort into creating these characters utterly pointless. If we go through the trouble of the PNP system, yourself included, then the system should have some impact in the RP.

Both Crackshot and whoever the Hell this guy is both casually dismissed Virtue. Scribbles even lampshaded in his post how shocked Virtue was that Crackshot wasn't convinced. Now this could be explained as saying he's a "protagonist" like her, so we all just have that "spark" if you will. I can buy that, but it would have been handy to establish that ahead of time.

To be honest, I have been done with that issue a while ago. I mark it to character vs character not character vs npc. The only reason that Virtue would gain Dashia's trust is because she starts out her trust with a one time benefit of a dought. Dashia isn't nieve. She is just open minded.

What point in the story was that? I only got halfways in when I stopped but I'm gonna guess it was much later? Also, it was the 2nd "turn/post" in which Virtue got her life spared so I think that's appropriate since the dialogue wasn't really extended.

So what do you propose that I do if I can't make certain NPC's "immune" to our stats, from the looks of it I'm gonna have to make SPECIAL/SKILLS for all NPCs if you don't have a better idea, and if I simply do it your way midnight then what's to stop Greshken from grabbing a hellhound and smashing its body in 3 seconds? Steelhooves died to one and he's wearing power armor and has heavy weapons.

Wait was that addressed to me or Midnight?

There will always be one or two that a being with all the charm in the world can't get on their side. Also I forgot to take into account she has that one perk that gives her bonus vs either same or opposite gender. The one hundred skill marker doesn't make it so one has a 100% chance of winning. Virtue has max charisma and speech, but it doesn't mean she will most definitely win every conversation with her words. Besides we need story points and that gives us one. I am on Defender's side here. He should be allowed a few of those kinds of characters.

They are his way of countering us.

It was addressed to us all. I hope I'm not coming across as a difficult person, sometimes it takes a while for me to see your perspective on things

What exactly am I being unclear with?

Pretty much that. If there's a moment where a certain approach is simply unassailable, just tell us directly here and we'll edit our post. Not everything can or indeed should be done in character after all.

If this latest character counts as a player and is therefore empowered in that vague way that Fallout protagonists usually are then just some forewarning to their apparent immunities and perhaps some specific justification is all I'm asking for.

It's like how in Deus Ex: Human Revolution, there was a couple characters that were augmented with a counter to the social enhancer that normally aided in dialogue sequences.
