Anna's eyes opened, squinting at the scene around her. There was a lot of ponies, but no more collar. Did this mean she wasn't a slave then? She moved her hoof around her side for her sword, to make sure it was there. It was, and the pony she vaguely remembered attacking was standing above her. Was it all a dream? Or a hallucination? Was somepony actually trying to help her? She wouldn't be able to figure out. This pregnancy was coming to an end soon, and Anna was at her weakest. Communication, the weakest of her skills, was a bit iffy right now.

To put it frankly, she was broken. Somebody would have to get a cart to pull or something, because there was no chance she was walking any farther. If it wasn't for those ponies around her, at this point she would of just tried to lay down and die.

"I'm not walking any farther" she muttered "You'll have to think of something, or else leave me and my baby to just die. This place is all a hell hole anyway... No place for a foal"

"Not everywhere is the same." Dashia says to her. "Never give up on life. It is to precious to loose."

She looks worried for the foal and it's mother. "Do you have something to carry her with?" Dashia asks the Griffin. Dashia looks her over. She hopes they can get going soon.

"My mother has terminated contracts with Red eye and barred us from taking any form him. So no I'm not a slaver, technically never was one either." Looking back I only took a couple of collar jobs, never got payed enough to keep doing them. Looking down I could see the yellow mare staring at us with curious eyes, reaching for her sword to make sure it was still there. Her response was one of lost hope, the other pegasus shot down her remark with a comforting sentence.

"Do you have anything to carry her with?" Was the question asked to me. Considering I just had what was on my person that was a negative. Unless...wait a minute I saw a bunch of autowagons and skycars down the road maybe I could see if one still worked! It was a long shot but it was better then letting some tired and depressed mare die.

"Not on my person no...however I might be able to fix us up a skywagon IF the ones down the road have their flux regulators." I put emphasis on the word if. The likely hood of finding an intact skywagon to fix up was rare enough but to find one with its regulator still there was unthinkable to most scavengers. If worst came to worst I would have to home and beg for one from mother and that would never end well. "I'll be close by, watch the mare while I go look," I said before spreading out my large wings and flying off.

Chip heard the Griffin mention fixing a sky wagon and his head perked up, he loved fixing any type of mechanical device. He followed after the Griffin "I will accompany you, I'm sure I can be of assistance!" He said calling after the Griffin as he galloped within the shadow of the griffin. [mechanics 80, science 75]

Chip wanted to make sure the transport is set up properly and if the griffin abandons them then Chip can still deliver the transport, he didn't fully trust someone that would slap a slave collar on a weakened mare.

Chip knew Dashia would be far better then himself at protecting the mare and keeping her comfortable, not to mention Dashia has been wanting her space ever since she entered her cycle. He wanted the chance to work on the vehicle since working on devices is Chip's preferred method to calm down and get his mind set back in place.

Dyna was inspecting the pregnant mare. She looked to Dashia. "She doesn't look really well. Must be having a baby soon. I have seen it before". She wanted to jump around like she used to do, but at the moment, now was not the time to be hyper. "But that is as far as I know".

"Yeah, I don't know much about the chip either, except that we had one of our tech experts look at it and had no clue what it was except that it was too sophisticated to be old world technology." Aile added after crackshot was finished, still staring at the hooded pony with a look of resentment.

"That's quite unfortunate. Well I certainly wouldn't want to hold onto it anymore, given that we don't know what it is and that it probably would bring more danger to my people. However, if we can assist in any way we can in figuring out what it is or at least keeping it from falling into the wrong hands, we would be more than happy to oblige." The doctor promptly spoke before he magically levitated the chip into Aile's barding pockets. " Oh, and before I send you on your way, have this"  -The doctor handed Aile a radio-looking device- "Just press the red button in emergencies for assistance and the green one for supplies. Normally we only give this to our ponies that do our supply runs or visit the surface for long periods of time, but seeing that you have this burden on your shoulders and haven't done anything that would bring harm to my people you deserve to have one of your own as well. Nova here will escort you through the city to get your belongings and resupply, I bid you safe travels!" With that, the doctor turned around and walked to his desk, looking at blueprints that were sprawled across the surface and the hooded pony carefully made his way to the door, making sure not to accidentally push anypony.

"I will lead you to our armory to pick up your weapons, so if you would follow me that would be appreciated." Xerath said in a firm voice before leading the group through nearly the same passageways they had went through on their way up. It wasn't long before they reached the armory, it was relatively small compared to the pre-war armories but it certainly was stocked with weapons of all types, snipers, magnums, and even a minigun. A few ponies were walking around the various aisles, taking stock and making sure weapons were in pristine condition, and at a corner bench lay their weapons. "I think you'll find your weapons working in a better condition than before, the doctor had ordered the armory to service them and we also supplied you with some ammunition" -He sighed and quickly added before Ezekiel could say anything- "Don't worry Zebra, we didn't touch your sword, we made that very clear to the ponies before they serviced the weapons."

Crackshot kept quiet during the hooded pony's explanation, keeping his alert gaze on him. Their group was in his territory, so he could do whatever they wanted to them. He could have them murdered, or worse.

Instead, he was letting them go on their way, and collect their weapons to boot.

As he followed the pony along, he couldn't help but feel sceptic. Why all the hospitality?

Nevertheless, he found Persuasion, Reason and the assault rifle in the armory and a quick inspection revealed not only were they not tampered with, they were patched up and he was given more shells.

Good, but still strange.

He re-equipped himself and got ready for Aile's order.

@@Defender of Tomorrow,

"I wasn't going to say anything such, perhaps you should ask yourself, defensive much?" Ezekiel said before strapping Khalid back over his shoulder. Embers and small flames licked out of the scabbard and Ezekiel's talisman glowed. The Shaman patted both items affectionately and nodded.

Before I was even a few feet away I heard the unicorn offer to help with new found enthusiasm. Flying back I swooped down to pick him up, he was a lot lighter then i'd expect from a full grown stallion. After a bit of flying I noticed the bright green puddle that was once a hellhound. Flying down I dropped my horned luggage and landed. The remains of multiple vehicles littered the old and cracked road. Many of them still bearing skeletons of their former owners. "Alright unicorn were looking for a skywagon, you should know what that is. Check underneath them to see if any of them have a flux regulator, if worse comes to worse were gonna have to make a quick detour to Buckingham correctional." I stated before I ripped of a piece metal from a random autowagon. Opening a slot in my flank I fed the suit the scrap metal and let it due it's magic. The once gaping hole in my arm closed in on itself and regained its original bulky shape. Stretching out my arm I noticed there was no longer stiffness or movement lag. Letting out a satisfied grunt I went off to look for any suitable vehicles. Upon looking I found a slightly better conditioned skywagon which I preceded to check under it's rectangular hull. Upon further inspection it seemed to have every other part but a flux regulator. "I found a decent one here, find me a flux regulator and we'll have this thing flying in no time!"

Like a wet, angry, mountain of raging hormones and exhaustion, Anna rose up from her spot she laid. Her legs were wobbly, her wings drooping from their folded states, her mane soaked and hanging down from her head, and all while her deep blue eyes looked at the group in defeat. She didn't accept help usually, Anna wasn't the best with other ponies. There was a time when she could work in a team, but that was with ponies all very similar to her. They'd all coming from the safety of the vault to explore this odd place they called the Wasteland. What was so encouraging about a place with such a name? Anna regretted ever having curiosity in this world outside, as she said it was truly a living hell. In the end, after a few days the group would head home because they all had upset stomachs from drinking irradiated water. They'd all go back home being seen as heroes, take a few rad-aways, then go curl up in their comfy little holes.

Anna picked up her sword, putting it back on her side. It's sheath was decorated beautifully, vines twisted and curled all around it with the sigil of a goat engraved into it's center. Very few would know what this represented, only those who understood the history of pre-war Canterlot. Canterlot was obviously uninhabitable, and it's history was lost in it's new pink glow. The rest of this history was underground, in Vault 255, which was now completely uninhabited. It's inhabitants almost seemed to vanish from existence. This was once Anna's home. She looked at the group.

"You probably are all wondering where I came from" She sighed "Obviously a mare like me surviving in the wasteland for so long must be... a marvel, to say the least"

She sat down. Her body ached like it never had before. It was done, broken. The potion would give the illusion of health for only so long before Anna would be sick again. She tightened her scarf and zipped up her leather coat as high as possible, before crossing her hooves in a attempt to stay warm. The poor pegasus shivered, wrapping her wings around herself as well. This didn't seem to stop her from talking about her past since, Anna had a lot to talk about. She hadn't seen another pony in a few months, she was surprised she wasn't insane at this point. The only ponies she came across were raiders that wanted her head.

"I'm a vault dweller or... maybe a hybrid of sorts. I was a professor in my vault, and a scientist. I'd teach about what was out here in the wastes and maybe how to fix it. A group of scientists and myself would constantly go out exploring, bringing back information from the secluded side of Canterlot mountain" She says, to whomever was there to listen.

"I had a life, a husband, maybe it all wasn't so happy though. I was miserable. We went out on one of these expeditions, and we were attacked by a creature that I haven't seen before. I can't describe to you what it was, but it ripped my friends apart with it's massive claws before my eyes. I was traumatized, scarred, and like always I just wanted to run back to my den in the Vault. When I arrived? Nothing. No resources, no ponies, just completely empty. So I left, searching for quite some time for what happened to the life I once knew..."

Anna looked up at the sky with a sigh, before looking at the group.

"But I realized I hated that old life. It still stuck with me though, since soon after I realized to stop looking for what happened to the dwellers of my vault, I realized I was pregnant. After that it was mainly about survival... maybe some discovery about what happened to this place. And after going around the mountain, here I am. Starving, sick, and on the verge of giving birth"

Anna sighs.

"I just thought... I don't know... you ponies wanted to actually know a little about me? I tend not to stay with groups for long, seeing as what happened to my last one. Maybe now you can understand why to me, my life is nearly worthless" she says, looking at Dashia

After Chip was set on the ground he begun scanning the area, his eyes lit up with excitement. He had never had the chance to mess with skywagons before, the closest to it was disassembling a tank and creating a weapon from the turret cannon. "My name is Chip by the way," he called out to the griffin who began doing his own thing with an auto wagon.

Chip trotted over to a decently conditioned Skywagon and crawled underneath, looking at the lines from the engine he quickly determined the line that a flux regulator would be connected to. Unfortunately he did not find the regulator nor any decently salvageable parts. He let out a slight grunt as he crawled back out from under the skywagon and continued the next, this time he checked a skywagon that seemed to be just a charred husk of itself since not many would think to check such a wreckage for operational parts.

Chip crawled under the next skywagon and looked when the flux regulator was, there was a flux regulator in place but it was too heavily damaged by what ever destroyed this vehicle.

After a couple minutes of looking the unicorn spoke up and broke the silence. Introducing himself with what I presumed was a shorten version of his full name. "Chip, are ya chocolate or potato?" judging by his supposed skill in mechanics I assumed it was a computer chip. Seriously does every single pony name themselves after their own talents? Countless questions would erupt if I delved deeper into the thought so I dropped it from my mind. Chip let off a dissatisfied grunt as he pulled out from under a skywagon, he then proceeded to look underneath a rather burnt out vehicle. Normally I would ignore one in that condition but the shuffle in the unicorns feet told me there was at least something worth looking at.

After my companion inspected the vehicle I promptly pushed him aside and grabbed the bottom of the vehicle. Getting a good grip I lifted the vehicle, my armor gave off a whine as it did its job. With a loud thud the vehicle landed on its side sending a wave of dirt in our direction. Quickly wiping the dirt off my visor I observed the rusty remains of the vehicle's more sensitive parts. I activated my helmet light in order to get a better look. The parts were either torn apart, smashed in, or rusted to all hell. This vehicle was only good for scrap metal. But to our luck a flux regulator still snugly filled its spot. Sure it was practically busted and its gems were probably cracked, but I could probably get it running. "Alright Chip this thing is in crap condition, if we fix it up the cloud generators won't last long. I say we work with it now till we get to Buckingham for better parts."

Opening up a compartment in my suit I pulled out a small bag and dropped it down on to the scorched earth. Opening it up revealed countless tools and parts. Whipping out my wrench I immediately went to work on the large rivets that loosely hung on to the rusted plating covering the more delicate tubing and wires. After the rivets were ripped out of place I pried off the thin sheet of metal to find torn wire and damaged tubing. Handing over clippers to Chip we both began to work on removing the left over junk that held our flux regulator. After removing the parts with Chip I carefully pulled out the flux regulator and brought it over to the other skywagon. Looking inside I discovered broken fission batteries and coiling that connected to a cracked talisman. With a groan I reached into my bag and pulled out my last spare batteries, duct tape, and a little blow torch. Completing the easy but rather tedious tasked I handed the flux generator over to chip.

His smaller frame allowed him an easier time getting underneath the vehicle then my armor allowed, and I didn't want to damage the vehicle by flipping it over either. Giving him my tools the crafty little unicorn skillfully used his magic to place the flux generator into the new skywagon. After everything was set in place Chip returned my tools and give me a satisfied nod. With a flick of a switch the cloud engine roared to life before eventually turning into a barely audible hum. Hitching myself to the harness of the vehicle I made sure Chip was secured in the wagon. I spread my wings and took off, the large rectangular vehicle behind me its cloud engine allowing me to carry the heavy weight without breaking a sweat. I couldn't help but grin at the thought as I flew back to the mouth of the cave.

Dashia shakes her head. She goes over to the mare and wraps her wings around her. "There is no one worthless on my team. You may be a broken mare but your still alive. Would you want your foal to be born without its mother?"

Dashia tries to help warm her up. "Once they get back with the skywagon, we will take you to New Cloudsdayle. My home. It is also known as Hellhound's Sanctuary. It must have been Hellhounds who did that to your group. We will ensure your foal has as safe a life as can be provided. My Father and mother can vouch for that. And Silvana will guard the foal with her life. The wastelands may be cruel now but if and when I call you friend, I will never leave my friends hanging for too long."

After the Flux regulator was removed from the broken down sky wagon the two returned to the vehicle that the griffin had inspected. With the Flux regulator in his magic Chip crawled under the sky wagon and begun inspecting the lines.

The griffin was kind enough to allow chip the use of his tools, chip took a wrench in his magic and used it to remove the Flux coupling so he could slide the regulator in place.

Soon the coupling was removed and Chip slid the regulator in place with a satisfying *click*. Unfortunately the two did not possess a rivet the regulator back in place, they would have to hope the Flux coupling would hold the regulator in place long enough.

Chip slid out from under the sky wagon returning the tools to the griffin. He nodded to the griffin as he hopped in the sky wagon and flipped the switch for the engine and it roared to life. As the engine feel to an idle rhythm Chip could hear the loose regulator tapping against the undercarriage, it should be able to hold long enough.

The griffin helped himself into the harness as Chip secured himself within the wagon, Doon the griffin took to the air with the skywagon's engine assisting him in caring this body of metal.

Seeing the mouth of the cave I steadily flew down to meet our other companions. With a thud and metallic groan I landed the skywagon. "Alright we got us a ride, get on board and make sure you tell me when you hear any strange noises. This skywagon won't last to long, so wherever you want to go tell me how far." I stated as I pointed to the passenger carriage. So this pegasus had a home, I wonder what'll be like. I highly doubted it was an enclave territory considering her freedom comment form earlier. She was most likely a dashite, though I couldn't see her mark due to her armor so I guess I was basing my assumption on a hunch. With her presence I can safely assume I won't get shot at by the locals.

"A place as safe of the vault is a far stretch to believe. I guess I'll believe it when I see it. she says as she accepts the extra wing.

Anna stands up, staying scrunched up. She steps in the skywagon and nearly falls over because she felt so weak. The pegasus laid on her side and moaned, wrapping her wings around herself again, and putting her head down. She really wished she wasn't so cold, it was the worst of things to be to her.

"I wish I had a blanket..."

Dashia nods and helps the mare into the wagon. She then retrieves a blanket from her saddlebags and places it over her to keep her warm.

Dashia then says, "Want me to join you including this wagon?"

Dashia steps over to a second harness. She looks to be getting ready to strap herself in.

As the sky wagon touched down near the maw of the cave, Chip hopped out. Dashia was already helping the pregnant mare into the Skywagon do he assisted Dyna up into the wagon. "Dyna just make sure to stay away from the edges okay?" He said as Dyna was up in the wagon.

Chip walked around so he was beside the pregnant mare since she was in no shape to be able to hold herself in if things get rough.

After the group helped the yellow mare into the passenger seats the other pegasus offered to help fly the wagon. Less work was always something I appreciated so I stepped aside so she could get into the other harness. "I need you to show me where this home of yours is anyway so go right on ahead. Due note this vehicle has a damaged piece of equipment and won't last too long, so I suggest we hurry it up over there. If worse comes to worst we're gonna have to go get a replacement, and the only place I know to get this rare piece of technology is back at my home Buckingham correctional." I didn't really want to go back there but if I had to I had to, I also have some good equipment stashed over there just in case if what I'm getting involved with is big stuff.

Dashia nods and says, "A loose device in the skywagon? I think home as a sky wagon we can make use of for easier travel. Besides I still haven't been able to get a hold of them. Either this storm is interfering with the signal more then we intisipated or something happened to home."

Dashia gets into the harness and waits for the others to get ready. "Ok we leave once Everypony is secure and ready."

Dyna was feeling really exited. She had never really flown before, except that one time she was on Dashia's back, but that was not really high. "I am ready, I am ready" she jumped up and down in her own position. "I am ready to go, we are going to soar the sky, can you believe it, I can't believe, I am so excited, but I am also kinda nervous. I don't know what I am feeling, but it feels great and bad at the same time" she said, not stopping to breath. She giggled a bit.

Anna didn't really like feeling useless. There was a time when she would fight off creatures of the wasteland alone with just her sword. Anypony that ran around the wastes with a sword obviously had some guts, but Anna's sword was different. It was in the sky wagon with her, in its beautiful hoofmade sheath. There was something about it that made it better than just a peice of metal, it did cut through power armor and half a talon.

Anna's belly gurgled again, as the potion started to wear off. She looked at the ponies in the cart with a sigh, not wanting to ask much more. She was suprised they even were doing all this for her. Did ponies really care for others in the wasteland? This was rather generous.

"Uh..." Anna said as her stomach gurgled again, loud enough to here "It'd be nice to have some kind of food... This potion is the only thing I've had in my system for 3 days"

Anna was curled up in her seat, in a tight ball, under a blanket. She was still shivering, though everything should have kept her warm. Maybe she was a little sick, or other things were happening to her that she didn't know about.

"My name is Anna, by the way" she said loud enough for everyone here "I just don't prefer being called 'mare' or 'pregnant mare' please"

Chip look down at the mare when he heard her stomach gurgling. He looked down to her and saw she was still shivering even with a blanket on her. Using his magic Chip opened his bag and pulled out a few pieces of gecko jerky and levitated them to her.

As Chip did so he heard her introduce herself as Anna. "Here eat these Anna, it isn't much but it should help hold you over for the time being." He said as he also set a hoof on her shoulder to help comfort Anna in case her shivering was being cause by a sense of nervousness.

The not enclave mare mentioned her home had a skywagon in better condition then ours. It was really convenient, even more so then me and chip finding a flux regulator among the wreckage. She also talked about how her radio was having problems finding signal. My own radio worked fine even in the rain, so that meant there was some trouble on the other end of herradio. Choosing not to tell her about my signal I turned and looked back at the passenger side. The yellow mare who I now know as Anna was curled up in the back looking rather uncomfortable with Chip trying to cheer her up. The filly was well...acting like a filly jumping around in her seat and being generally happy. "Chip I don't think Anna eats meat like other wasteland ponies do,so I suggest giving her something else or risk making her condition even worse." I blandly stated as turned back around to see the pegasus fully strapped to the harness."Alright folks were in for a ride, now we don't want anyone falling out of the carriage so I highly suggest you sit down and relax. I'm talking about you kid." I said before spreading out my wings once again, turning my head left I signaled to the mare that we were ready for lift off.

Anna made a face at the meat. She tried to eat something similar and it made her puke up her guts, seeing as she was once a vault pony who only ate fresh foods and vegetables grown in gardens. She was desperate, but risking making her condition worse didn't seem ideal. She sighed.

"I don't eat meat..." She says "It'll make me even more sick"

She didn't want to agree with the griffin, but he was right. Anna looked at Chip with worry as she continue to shake and shiver for whatever reason.
