The zebra smiled at Rave, the smile stretching unnaturally. It reached a hoof towards his head. As it touched it, Rave felt as his skin was being burned. He wanted to scream, but did not have any strength. The poison had numbed his body and was slowly killing him.

"Forgive me, Tyra, but I can't follow that instruction," said Spellbind, suddenly becoming determined. "My friend and your friend is in there, in grave danger."

 

And with that, she galloped onward. She was pretty exhausted, but she kept running off the energy of determination to rescue her companion.

Tyra was taken aback by Spellbind's refusal to listen, and watched her run onward.

 

She sprinted ahead of the unicorn and stopped in front of her. "Wait!"

 

She kept her frown for a moment, then grinned, and glanced over to Caramel, who was still standing outside.

"Will you join us, captain?"

But  what do you know? Spellbind didn't wait. She simply ran around Tyra, like she would if there was a hole in the path, and went to find Rave.

 

She kept going until she could see vaguely see something that looked like a pony lying on the ground. She ran closer...

The zebra phantom kept on pressing its hooves against his head, but then pulled back. It seemed to be looking at his horn. It reached there and that is when Rave experienced real pain for the first time. Internally, he was screaming. He was starting to black out, his vision becoming really blurred.

Caramel was freaking out "Calm down, he's going to be okay. calm down." Her mane started to glow blue again. "Calm down, that's not gonna happen, he's not okay." Caramel spread her wings, lifting off with a blast, diving right into the ruins. "Rave, I coming to get ye, don't worry, ye going to be fine." Since Caramel was in her more powerful state, it was easy to lift the fallen rocks around her. She heard screaming. "Don't worry Rave, I'm almost there." Caramel crawled through the ruins, towards the sound of pain.

Tyra blinked as Spellbind sidestepped her to run on, and then Caramel rushed past her as well.

"Sleipnir's mane," she sighed to herself, following the two mares into the ruins, lifting and punching through every rock and obstacle in her way.

 

"We are coming, Rave!" She yelled, catching up with the other mares, "Hang in there!"

Rave blacked out as the strain and pain was too much for him. It would not be much longer until the phantom had dealt with him. A sinister laugh escaped it. It turned its head as it saw Spellbind. It would deal with her after it had dealt with Rave. "Aegsss merkarna lima" it hissed in a foreign language.

After moving a lot of rocks in the dust she finally saw Rave. "You there, yeah, you Zebra, I'm talking to you, don't ye dare touch him." Caramel grabbed the unconscious Rave on her back. The zebra only stared at her with it's angry eyes. Caramel stared back. "I know that we disturbed yer peace, but don't you dare touch one of my friends with one of yer filthy hoofs. we're good folk, we don't deserve this. Just leave us alone. we won't bother ye anymore." Caramel kept staring at the zebra, while she slowly walked away, looking for an exit.

Behind Rave, there was the sound of chanting in ancient Equestrian Latin. Gradually, it grew louder and louder, and more foreign, until you could not tell it to be Wilhelm's voice, even though he was standing in front of you, eyes narrowed behind his glasses, hooves clutching the Ars Demonica tightly.

 

"Begone, foul spirit, lay thy soul to rest, heed the Knocking, and step through the Door of Infinite Light. Spirit, I release thee from thy bonds, and may thou begone, or I shall rend your soul into irreparable parts, your mind broken in perpetual agony, by my right as a representative of the divine authority of the Goddesses, the immemorial rulers of this land."

 

Wilhelm thrust out a hoof towards the spirit, who had been frozen from the first sentence, and with a quizzical look that quickly morphed to unnatural fear, the phantom disappeared in a burst of light. Wilhelm, whatever force he had channeled while he was doing the banishment gone, turned to Rave and Caramel with a kindly smile. "Are you okay, Rave? Those kinds of spirits can be rather damaging."

 

 

OOC: This isn't unicorn magic; it's natural magic channeled through arcane words instead of a horn. It only works for banishment and containment of spirits, and you have to pronounce every single word perfectly and never miss a single one.

 

Also, it drains you a lot. Wilhelm doesn't act like it, but he's pretty close to passing out.

Caramel carried Rave further out of the ruins, him still laying unconscious on his back. "Hold on Rave it will be fine, I promise." Caramel looked behind her, seeing if the zebra was still behind her but she couldn't see because of all the dust. She then moved as quick as possible, since it was clear that Rave needed medical attention.

Tyra arrived with the others, spotting the zebra spirit looming over Rave. She snarled and readied her axe, glaring daggers at the ghost as Caramel went to retrieve Rave.

 

"You heard her, release our friend and nopony shall be hurt!" She warned.

 

She perked up at the sound of strange foreign chanting, and looked behind Rave to spot Wilhelm with a book. With his strange words, and a flick of his hoof, the demon was dispelled from Rave's body, making him look much more peaceful on Caramel's back.

 

Still careful, she kept her axe ready, glancing around for any more potential attacks.

Spellbind was relatively surprised at what went down. She had been horrified at seeing Rave unconscious (and with his body slightly different than normal), then astouded when Wilhelm made a spirit leave his body.

 

"Yeah, we'd better be on the lookout," she said when they were taking him back. "Something I ought to mention: when I try to cast spells, something random or nothing happens. It hurts me as well though. Perhaps I could use whatever magic I can if we get ambushed."

Caramel didn't even hear what anypony said as she was only focused on getting Rave back to the ship as quick as possible so that he might still be saved. "Hang on there buddy, we gonna get you through this." She ran quickly through the jungle, if she ran fast enough, she might be at the ship in 10 minutes. She decided that it would take too long so she spread out her wings, flying was faster in this situation anyway.

Tyra watched as Caramel sprinted out back the way they came in. She figured she wanted to get Rave back to the ship as soon as possible so he could rest.

She had the right idea, this place was wrong.

 

Returning her axe to her back, she referred to the others.

"Come, we must make sure they return to the ship safely!"

 

With that she began sprinting after Caramel, cursing that she'd taken flight once she'd gotten outside. Her flying would make her harder to follow with all the trees. She ran back through the jungle, disregarding the dangerous plants lurking there.

Rave was in extreme pain, even though he was unconscious, he could still feel it, the poison seemed to be attacking his mind just as it was attacking his body. "You are growing weaker and weaker, allow me to take control and you will be spared. Allow me to enter your heart and I will make sure that you will live". Rave did not respond to the voice. He didn't want to, he knew it was evil. "You wouldn't defy me would you now? You know what you are meant to do, what your job will be in the end. When Celestia falls and we wi--" "Leave me alone you spirit of evil" Rave hissed within his mind. He felt a new surge of pain coursing through his mind. His body was not moving at all, while Caramel carried him.

"whew! anything else?" violet said to herself. the huge feast she had spent all day preparing in celebration for her first land-ho. there was crab, salmon, apples, watermelon, many different kinds of flowers and berries, nuts, and for drinks there were apple cider, (hoof-brewed) water, apple juice, and her own style of tea! even caliber wouldn't be able to eat this much! she really couldn't think of anything else to do, so she relaxed in the crows nest waiting for the others. "tell me when they get here, flare..." she said as she dozed off.

Assassin walked really slowly and all those events happened quickly, she saw the captain carrying Rave. She quickly realised that it didn't felt right, so she dashed really quickly to the ship. She was already at the front of the ship and saw a pony preparing something. She leaped at Violet and shouted, "Rave is in danger!".

Caramel saw Assassin standing in front of the ship yelling at Violet. "Violet, Assassin, go find a medical kit or something, and bring some pillows, it's somewhere in my quarters. Rave needs medical attention, stat. I want ye to work of yer flanks, someponies life is one the line here." Caramel arrived on deck. She laid Rave down on a bunch of hay. She looked at his leg when she saw the poison arrows. "So that's the main problem, I see." Caramel needed some way of removing the poison from the blood, she feared a bloodtransfusion was not possible with the aquipment she had on board.

"I really don't know a thing about how blood transfusions work, but I'll volunteer to give him some blood," said Spellbind urgently. "I'm in as good health as anypony else on this ship. As for how we do it, well... we'll just have to do it in some unprofessional way."

Assassin heard the captain. "Aye, immediately!", she shouted. She rushed everywhere, and returned with a pillow, a blanket, and some equipments. She moved Rave to a blanket and a pillow. Fear all over her mind, she grabbed the captain and shouted at her, "Is it too late?!".

Tyra arrived with the others on deck, and got a glimpse of the poison arrows in Rave's leg. She swallowed as she tried to think of a solution, and the idea of blood transfusion came up.

 

"I would gladly volunteer to give him blood as well!" She added after Spellbind, grinning, but her grin quickly faded as a thought came to her, "though, I fear my blood may hinder his magic abilities badly..."

 

She began tapping a hoof against her forehead, looking rather frustrated.

"Come on, think, think, think..."

"Well," Wilhelm said, "Who here has the same blood type as Rave? They need to be a unicorn, or his body will reject the transplant. We'll also need some tubing, two syringes, and a bag to collect the donor's blood in so it can be transferred. ...do we actually have any of that?"

"Technically, I am a unicorn," offered Spellbind. "My horn may be missing, but I still count as a unicorn. Does that make it okay for some of my blood to go into Rave's body?" she asked, wondering how all this stuff worked. "Oh, and I think you ought to know that I was born this way."

"I don't think I have that kind of equipment laying around." Caramel thought. "I have an idea, it might not work, but I think it will." Caramel looked around at the concerned faces of the crew. "Don't worry, I just have to gather a view things and then I'll be back before ye know it, please watch him while I'm gone." Caramel sprinted back to island, heading inside the jungle.
