Upon hearing Caramel's shouting, Spellbind considered whether or not fetching her some rum was a good idea. She decided that it was so, and then went to find some rum.

 

Feeling a bit awkward, she delivered it to where Caramel was without saying anything.

"Thank you, Spellblind, feel free to stop by later if ye want, I'll need some good company." she said with an awkward smile. "I didn't know that there was healing magic. That's new to me. Just try to be carefull alright." Caramel said. "And don't mention my past ever again, I don't wanna talk about it and it's no ponies business.'' she said while she tried to grab the rum.

"I understand". Rave's magic washed over Caramel. He waited there for a moment and then the light faded. He stood up. "I'm going to do something useful" he declared as he exited Caramel's room, leaving her with Spellbind inside. He walked up above deck and started inspecting the damage.

Tyra was walking around the deck, inspecting the ship's damage herself. It indeed had taken a battering, including the sails, which had ripped rather badly.

 

Was she really to blame for this? Did she really put her new companions' lives at risk?

 

Her anger was quickly reforming into sadness as she continued watching, looking at the ropes she'd carelessly cut.

Her ears lowered, as did the wings of her helmet. Perhaps Rave was right.

Caramel nodded as Rave walked out the door. "thanks for the healing magic thing." Her body was in a bit less pain, but it still hurt a lot. "I won't be able to do much." she thought to herself. She turned her attention to Spellblind "So where have ye been, haven't seen ye around the ship much, I hope yer okay.'' Caramel said with a smile.

Rave saw Tyra and walked right next to her. He stood by her side with his eyes closed. He siged. "I'm sorry I was so harsh on you, you acted with your heart. You did what you believed what was right. I shouldn't have yelled at you like I did, I should have tried to solve the issue instead of standing there, blaming you, doing nothing". He looked down. "Can you forgive me?".

"Oh, I've been staying on this ship alright. You couldn't pay me to go into the sea. Marine life is... creepy..." she replied. "Well, I'm okay, but how about you?" She sat down next to Caramel. "If there's anything I can do, let me know," she said, wanting to help in any way she could.

Tyra perked up at Rave's voice being so close, and instead of instinctively giving him a punch in the face, heard him out.

His apology certainly sounded like he meant it, at least to her, and it was enough to cheer her up.

 

In fact she was happy enough to grab the stallion in a tight, nearly spine-breaking hug. "I accept your apology, my friend!"

 

Once she eventually let go, she put on a stern face. "Though, I wish to make up for any damage I might have helped cause. Will you allow me to help with repairing the ship?" She put a hoof to her chest. "As a Shatterhoof, I vow to do anything I can to help!"

Rave felt the air leave his chest as Tyra gave him an almost crushing hug. He did not struggle though and laughed as he received the hug. "If you want to help with repairs, talk to Wilhelm. He is the head of the repairs" he gave her a smile. "I will try to help as much as I can myself with my magic".

I am not okay, this storm really tackled me down. First it was just my wings but then I felt kinda weird so I knocked out. And now everything hurts. That's why I wanted the rum, for the pain." she said as she took another sip of her bottle. "Ye don't have to do anything for me by the way, maybe just keep me company and check on the crew since I can't." she said with a smile.

Tyra nodded with a confident smirk, and dashed off to find Wilhelm. Her trademark pep was back, and she wanted to make good on her word to Rave. Plus, her strength would be just the thing, in case they needed heavy materials!

 

The miniature mauler finally caught the mysterious stallion in her sights, and trotted up to him.

"I wish to help with repairing the ship," she declared, sternly and with a hoof to her chest, "how may I do so?"

Spellbind felt a pang inside as Caramel said she was not okay after Spellbind had asked if she was, and then Caramel listed her injuries. Even as Caramel continued she felt that sense of awkwardness.

 

Spellbind propped her hind leg up to show a cut she had gained on it.

violet was still in the crows nest. thinking on how she should have saw the storm coming, and how she should have been the first one awake. then, she heard talk repairing the ship, and she flew down. "i can help, where its hard to reach." she offered, "i mean, i can fly, so, that'll help..."

Spellbind blinked. While what Caramel said was a huge boost to her self-esteem, she didn't think it was accurate.

 

"Me? Co-captain?" she said. "Uh, sorry, I don't think I'd be suited for it. I'm not good at the leadership role. I just let those around me make decisions for me."

 

"Not sure if you know, but when you left me in charge, I passed it onto Rave," she went on. "If I can't handle that, chances are I can't handle being co-captain."

Wilhelm raised a eyebrow, but gestured with one hoof to the massive rolled-up sail behind him, for both Tyra and Violet. He was simply lugging a spool of thread and a bundle of planks under each arm, and held a needle in his mouth(which meant he would be the strong silent type, for now) . Trotting out of the cargo hold, he made his way upstairs and started on the first sail, the one that needed to be repaired. The other would be replaced. Edited March 29, 2015 by Orion Caelum

Lordy was just sitting on the ships bow, then he looked at the front sails....

 

"umm... not good... the jib is ripped. wind mustve been too strong."

 

Sewing was for some reason compulsory in the army... so a soldier could fix his uniform. He tied a rope on the foremast and started balancing on the jib boom. he managed to reach his position and tried to srat sewing the sail. At a small wave he slipped and fell in the silently water, the rope he tied around his leg caused him to be pulled by the ship. He had a hard time keeping is head over the water and ws in no position to call for help.

"Are ye sure, you seem like the kinda person who can make right decisions. I'm not forcing ye or anything but could ye at least think about cause I still need a co-captain. I don't think there's anyone else that could do that job better than you. It's not leadership, it's teamwork, don't forget that. Anyway, ye can still think about it. Thanks for keeping me company, I think I'll take a rest now." Caramel said with a smile.

Rave saw what happened. He was levitating a few planks but dropped them immediately. He went to Lordy's aid, levitating him back on the ship. "Are you alright? Good thing that you tied a rope around yourself, could have fallen into the sea and be lost there".

Wilhelm, working on the same sail Lordy was, yanked him up by his rope onto the deck, heave by heave. "Listen, kid, don't go dying on me. We need all the help we can get. And next time...less slack on the rope." He gave a friendly smile and went back to working on the second tear.

"what.... i was just having a drink." he said, trying to make a joke and spat out about a litre of water. "could use some scotch though." he wanted to straighten his shako and realized it was gone. he looked at the water andnoticed something black floating away in the distance.

"Well okay, perhaps I will think about it," replied Spellbind. "Take care," she said, getting off the bed.

 

She thought. Would it be a good idea after all for her to take on the role of co-captain? Honestly, when had she ever demonstrated that she would be the right person for leading a crew?

 

Who knows? Maybe she would accept the offer. Only time would tell.

 

It would also tell if she was missing the latest episode of My Little Human, which was probably the case as there was no TV on this ship as far as she knew.

Wilhelm shrugged. "'Tis just a hat, but I suppose Rave could get it for you, if he wants to. As for you and me, we need to get back to work on the sail." He turned to Rave. "..but..thanks. For, you know, helping." His cheeks turned slightly more purple instead of their natural navy.

Rave gave Wilhelm a smile. He focused on Lordy's hat and levitated it to Lordy. "Here you go". He walked along, putting planks in place, taking a few trips. He then decided that he would go down below deck and fetch some refreshments for the crew. He ran into Spellbind. "Oh hello there, it is good to see you" he offered. "Don't see you often lately" he gave her a kind smile.

Tyra cocked her head to the side, wondering both why Wilhelm had gone silent all of a sudden, and what he meant by that rolled up sail.

"What do you expect us to do with-" She froze, blinking as the cogs began turning in her head. "Oooh, right!"

 

She dashed over to the sail and perked it up onto her back, carrying it with ease. She looked over to Violet and grinned.

"I may need you and Flare's assistance with the new sail, friend!"
