As Radiant was helping some of the fellow ponies with setting up tents, he heard his name mentioned in the distance. He looked back and saw Tyra point at him with her hoof with several foals looking at him with awe. He grinned in the direction nodded his head and turned his attention back to putting up the rest of the tents.

 

After a while the rest of the tents were finally standing, which were raised a lot faster thanks to Radiant. "Thanks for helping us out Radiant, if you need anything let us know." One of the earth ponies said as they trotted off after a job well done.

 

Radiant was happy to help so he begun walking through the outpost again, from what he could see everything was already taken care of. He wasn't a cook and he wasn't much of blacksmith, so he couldn't help with those tasks. 

 

As he begun approaching his tent he could see a group of foals running back into the outpost, quickly redirecting their attention to Radiant when they saw him. They ran up to him now bombarding him with attention.

 

"Hey you're Radiant, miss Shatterhoof told us about you."

"Is it true you guard Celestia herself?"

"She said told us you were glowing during the fight, can we see?" 

"Can we see your weapons as well?" 

 

"Calm down now, yes I am a captain of the royal guard. And yes I can show you what Tyra spoke of and my weapons." He said grinning. No matter how much a pony denies it, all ponies like being the center of attention. 

 

Radiant opened his bag pulling out the hilts of his swords showing them to the foals "What are those?" one of them asked.

 

"They're my weapons," Radiant said with a smirk as all the foals looked rather disappointed expecting more from somepony fighting alongside Tyra.

 

Radiant brought his four hilts around him with the hilts facing upward. He manifested the golden blades slowly spinning them around him. The foals gasped in amazement never seeing magical swords before. Radiant then cast his armor, his coat glowing with a radiant gold. The foals jaws were ajar from astonishment as they were lost for words. Radiant dispelled his armor and his swords, setting the hilts back in his bag. The foals stood there for a second until one finally yelled out "So cool!" 

 

They ran off past Radiant as he continued to his tent with a grin on his face. In the distance he could still hear the foals.

 

"I'm gonna be just like Tyra!" 

"Oh yea well i'm going to be just like Radiant!" 

 

Radiant's serious expression returned when he heard the foals say that. He retreated into his tent grabbing another helping of water.

Blizzard had left Caliber with Icarus, and left the tent and went to go ask how the refugees were doing, "Hi, uh, h-how you doing? Is everything ok here?" A mare replied, "Oh, we're doing fine, thanks to you and your team. We would've been dust without you." Blizzard shyly replied, "Yeah, just doing our job ma'am. Ain't nothing we can't handle. I'm gonna go see if any others need help, see ya later." He then saw Tyra and Raid being crowded by foals, "*yawn* I wouldn't be able to handle stuff like that, I need to get up and go! Ain't got time for stuff like--" Then he was tapped gently on his back he looked down and saw an excited young colt, "Hi there--" "Are you the Earth pony who controls ice?!" "Yeah, that's me." "Woooow, you're awesome! I don't think any other Earth pony I know can do that! Can you show me your powers?" "Sure kid." He then proceeds to blast some rocks and smashes into them, shattering them. "You are awesome!! I may not get powers like you, but I sure wanna be like you when I get older!" "Aw thanks kid, you know I got my powers by exploring. Maybe if you explore when you get older, you'll find your hidden gift too." "Oh I will! See ya later!" "Bye. Hmm..nice kid. I sure hope Caliber gets better soon."

After awhile, Icarus got up from his rest and dawned his cloak and mask. IT was time to check on the refugees.As he walked around into the deeper parts of the outpost, many of the ponies just looked at him. Some didnt seem comfortable around him, while others seemed relieved there was a doctor, and one of the Plague Doctors of Stalliongrad at that ! 

 

"You're the medic from the city are you not ?" An earth  pony asked him.

 

"Yes, that would be me" Icarus replied with a nod.

 

"Good, some of the ponies here need medical attention ! Can you help them ?"  The pony seemed slightly worried, but Icarus agreed with a nod.

 

He followed the pony to one of the larger tents that seemed like it was being used as an infirmary. It was time to get to work fixing up these poor souls.

Tyra watched from a short distance as Radiant put on his little display for the foals. She knew they'd love to see his weapons for real; after all, her words did paint a good picture of him, she thought.

 

Overhearing the kids' excited chatter, a grin of pride washed over her face. It was always good to hear somepony respected you that much, though hopefully not enough that they'd put themselves in harm's way as much as she does; she's travelled to enough places to know not everypony is made of the same stuff as those back home.

 

She returned to her tent and sat outside it, looking around the outpost. In some way, this camp reminded her of home. Everypony working together to set the place up, while the kids played around without a care.

All that was missing was more snow.

As Radiant sat in his tent he heard commotion outside "I think this is his, let's talk to we need his help." An unknown mare said.

 

Suddenly a mare and a colt came into his tent both kneeling before him "Captain Radiant we beg for your assistance." the colt said peering up at Radiant.

 

Radiant stood up "No need for formalities, please stand and tell me what it is you need." Radiant assured them.

 

The both stood up with worried looks on their faces. "Sir it's our son we can't find him, he's the one that gave you some of our cider before the invasion." The mare said panicking.

 

"We think he went back to the city to Observe the fighting. We b..." The colt explained being interrupted.

 

Radiant was already half way out of his tent "Say no more I'll return with your son." He assured them galloping out of the tent despite his injuries.

 

"That kid is going to get himself killed, hopefully I'm just not to late." He muttered to himself and with that thought adrenaline surged through him, he ran as fast as he could as if he wasn't injured at all.

Tyra glanced over to Radiant's tent as a pair of ponies talked shakily amongst themselves before entering. They certainly seemed distressed.

 

After about a minute, the tent's owner came galloping out of the tent, despite his injuries. Wide-eyed, the pint-sized warrior grabbed her axe and dashed after him.

 

"What is the trouble?" She called to him, "I can help!"

Radiant heard he was being pursued by his fellow warrior, he continued running not slowing down at the least. "I can handle this you need to let your wounds heal Tyra, being susceptible to magic those wounds won't heal as quickly. So you need the rest!" He exclaimed increasing the distance between them.

Tyra snorted, and attempted to increase her speed and close the gap. Her hard-headedness was showing once again.

 

"Well, you need just as much rest," she called back to him, "and here you are dashing back out into danger! What if those beasts down you once more?!"

 

It was true, she certainly needed to rest her body, still weary from the battle and the wounds, but if Radiant was going back into the fray while he was just as injured, why not she?

Radiant did not want Tyra expending her energy when it should go to recovering. He glanced back at her taking all his wrappings off with his magic. Once it was all taken off of him he glanced back at her again. "Sorry this might hurt a bit but i'm not dealing withstubbornness right now, I'm just going on a search and rescue." He said levitating his wrappings onto Tyra legs tripping her into the snow.

 

As she was lying in the snow he continued running managing to tie her up with his wrappings. "There hopefully she'll get the picture, with the dark magic on her wounds she shouldn't be depleting her energy." He muttered to himself.

Tyra let out a small yelp as she was tripped up, and promptly faceplanted into the snow. Her axe fell an inch or so in front of her with a heavy clank.

 

She tried to get up, but her legs wouldn't move. Shaking the snow off her face, she looked down at her legs and found them bound together, like a trapped boar. Grunting, she tried to pull herself out from the wrappings.

 

"Ugh, these damned wounds," she hissed, finally managing to break free of her bonds. She got up to attempt another chase, but these dark magic wounds all over her were sapping her energy. With a rebellious snort, she grabbed her axe and stomped back to her tent, throwing herself down on her bedroll to sulk.

It had been hardd work, but now several more ponies were in stable condition. their dark magic wounds healing, and the effects disspeled. With a full medical team at his disposal within the medical tent, things were running very smooth as the team worked to nurse all the wounded ponies back to health.

Walking outside for a small break in the cool breeze, he saw a quite angry looking Tyra storm into her tent. He walked over too the tent, and stood just outside of it.

 

"You don't seem to be in the best of moods" Icarus said.

Tyra's ears perked up at the sound of Icarus's voice, but her bad mood stayed unwavering, as stubborn as she was.

 

"Radiant is just as injured as I," she huffed, just loud enough for the plague doctor to hear, "and yet he has galloped off somewhere! I tried to follow, but he left me behind."

 

She found the energy to stand back up, and poked her head out of her tent to look up at Icarus.

"I do not wish for any harm to come to my companions," she frowned, "especially if they are injured."

Radiant looked behind him no longer seeing mane or tail of Tyra. "Finally, I only it for her own good. Although I'll have to deal with an angry shatterhoof when I get back." He muttered to himself continuing to run toward the city.

 

Soon Radiant found himself in the city so he started down the main road to search for the young colt "damn, I really should of asked for his name." He told himself as he scanned every bush and every tree he passed by.

"Did you expect any different from him ? " Icarus said, thinking about Radiant's actions. they really did not surprise him. " While you may not be able to help Radiant, I am sure he will be fine. Perhaps you could be useful here ? The people of this outpost need help, and the medical team could use a strong mare such as yourself for an operation we are about to preform if you wish to join us" Icarus said,extending an offer to Tyra.

Tyra's scowl seemed to soften once she heard Icarus's offer. Something that required her strength, and she could help the ponies around here even more!

And he was correct; Radiant was a royal guard. She was sure he could take care of himself.

 

"Of course, I would be happy to help!" She nodded, her grin returning as she exited the tent completely, "How may I assist?"

Radiant continued searching the main road until he begun to approach the northern gate. He could see the fighting was still Going strong, he felt the urge to join in the fight but he had another reason for being here. "Hey kid where are you! Can you hear me!" He shouted out.

 

He scanned the area more until he heard a very weak voice reply "mister, I'm in here." Radiant looked in the direction of the voice and saw it came from a collapsed house.

 

Radiant ran over to the house and peered through the gaps between the boards and shingles. He could make out the young colt who was cover in ask and trapped in the debris. Radiant began carefully moving piles of debris with his magic being careful not to injure the young colt anymore.

 

Radiant soon had the colt uncovered and pulled the last board off his leg. As he looked at the young colt's leg he could tell it was broken. Other then that there were no life threatening injuries. "What we're you doing here? I told you this was no place for someone so young!" Radiant scolded the colt As he grabbed him with his magic gently setting him on his back.

 

"I just wanted to see the fighting." the young colt admitted.

 

"How did you end up in that mess anyways?" Radiant asked still upset with the colt As he begun walking back to the outpost.

 

"I was chased by one of those scary dogs. I ran into the build for cover but it collapsed on me." He explained to Radiant who was keeping a walking pace as to not hurt the young colt.

As sun started to sat on this red day,half burn town clock started to ring,it was 7 p.m (19:00).Blu birds with letters comed to evry member of our litle party.Letter was writen with dark black ink.In letter was writen "I would love to meet heroes of lest night and thank em in person." The letter was normal,and there wasnt noting strange about it.On back of it there was a litle map that had thete outpost and ~500 meters west hed one smal cros.

"Of course, I would

 

"A pony here is in need of an amputation. their leg is fully corrupted with dark magic, and it is slowly spreading to the other parts of the body. IF we dont remove it soon, if may be too late for the poor soul" Icarus said, leading her to the medical tent. " Sadly, we have no anesthetic, so he will feel everything. I need someone to hold him down." Icarus  informed her.

 

LAying in the corner of the medical tent was a pony sprawled out on a cot. Their bottom left leg was covered in dark red crystals and they would moan in pain every moment or so.

Radiant saw a bird fly up to him with a small peice of parchment on its leg. He took the parchment from the bird and opened it. He read what was written on it. Once he realized what it was he continued to the outpost still tEn minutes of walking ahead of him.

"That poor soul indeed," Tyra nodded, putting on a scowl of determination, "I will do my best to help with this pony!"

 

A bird suddenly appeared from above, and she took the parchment hanging from its legs. She tossed it into her tent to read later; she had more pressing matters right now.

 

She followed Icarus into the medical tent, and blinked with shock at the injured pony as she stared at the crystals sticking out of his leg.

"By Sleipnir's mane," she gasped, swallowing as she walked over, "nopony deserves this to happen to them."

Radiant finally arrived at the outpost with the young colt on his back.he went straight to the medical tent where he could hear screaming inside. It was an unsettling scream as if somepony was being tortured. Radiant set the young colt down outside the tent. "I have a feeling this is going to be a horrible image that you shouldn't see, do stay put." Radiant told the young colt as he went inside.

 

Once inside he found Tyra holding down a pony who was struggling for freedom as a saw was working its way through the ponies leg. Radiant saw the crystals on the ponies leg so he understood what was happening but he felt infuriated seeing a pony in such pain.

 

He stomped up to the table looking at Icarus "how can You let this pony suffer like this Icarus? Pull the saw for a second." He commanded walking to the back of the table.

 

Radiant went behind the pony leaning him up and put his foreleg around the ponies neck and squeezed. Soon the pony passed out back on the bed, the screaming coming to a halt. "If you are out of something to dull the pain I can teach you that sleeper hold. All guards are required to know it so we can restrain those who don't need force." He said walking away from the table and back outside.

 

He picked up the youno colt "close your eyes until I say so." He said to the colt.

 

Radiant went inside passing the amputation table and set the young one in a far bed. He turned to a nurse "so far I can tell he has a brokeN leg, I'll try to find his parents To let them know he is here." Radiant stated as he left the medical tent.

A bird landed on Blizzard's head and pecked him, "Ow what the--? Hmm...A message? Somepony wants to see us? I don't know, we gotta help the locals. And I'm not going anywhere until Caliber is better. We'll just have to meet whoever this is later." Blizzard than skated into the medical tent, "Hey guys did you see this--?" Blizzard almost lost his breakfast at the sight of an amputation, he turned around and said, "Hey Icarus! Is Caliber any better? I brought him to ya a while ago and I wanted to know how he was doing."@@Commander Tangent,

"Hold him down, comfort him as needed " ICarus said."Are you ready?" He asked the pony, who returned a nod. He waited for Tyra  to hold the pony down before he pulled out the saw. He planned to be as quick as possible. He quickly cut into the ponies leg, using the magically sharp leg to cut throught the ponies leg within 30 seconds. Luckily due to Radiant, he was out.

Icarus looked up at Tyra. " I think that is it for now. Hopefully I can seal his stump up now." ICarus said.

 

" Thank you Radiant. You saved him a lot of pain" ICarus offered his thanks.

Tyra nodded, keeping a straight, stern face as the operation went underway. Since Radiant had knocked out the patient, he was much easier to comfort as Icarus went to work.

 

She gently let go of the pony once the procedure was finished, and walked up to Radiant, who was probably expecting her to be a tiny whirlwind of rage.

"It appears I did not have as much faith in you as I should have," she smirked, glancing up and down to see if he was indeed unhurt, "I should not underestimate a princess's royal guard."

Blizzard repeated himself, "Ahem! Icarus, I asked how is Caliber doing? I brought him here earlier, and I want to know if he's going to be ok." Blizzard did not liked being ignored, so he did what anypony would do and spoke again, "Helloooo? Am I the only one in here?"
