Ticktock rubbed his hooves together "Ok you ready for this" He puts his sword into a form of fencing stance and starts attacking like he was fencing him self (Even though he had never done any fencing in his life) He then jumps towards Caliber readying for their swords to clash.

caliber dodged the first few blows, analyzing his pattern. his strength, and the way he swings. then, he blocked with his sword. "i might have an idea for your style" he said, grinning, and going on the offensive. (fencing style) but caliber wouldn't hurt him. he could stop his sword before it would draw blood, should ticktock fail to dodge. now it was time to see how ticktock reacts defensively.

In the seconds that Ticktock spent thinking of how to defend against Calibers sword he had had a number of ideas he could block with his sword but Caliber was stronger than him so that would do no good. Then he had an idea. He teleported behind Caliber and Kicked at his legs.

(uh-oh. it got real)

 

caliber's reflexes kicked in. as his legs buckled, he did a spin attack. ticktock blocked, but caliber had already gotten back up, and resumed his attack.

 

'oh? well, now. i did say 'attack me however you wish'. but i wasn't prepared for that...ill have to be extra careful...'

 

caliber upped the speed, as well as slightly more advanced techniques. 'i wonder how much talent he has...' caliber thought.

 

"yo! im really getting a feel for your inner style!"

Tyra perked up and saw Caliber and Ticktock sparring with swords. It was rather interesting to watch, even if there were some dirty tricks involved with their magic.

 

She went to draw her axe, but froze.

"I have been relying on my axe a lot," she muttered to herself, "perhaps I have been neglecting my hoof-to-hoof skills."

 

With that, she found a stuffed dummy in the training area and began practising some punches and kicks on it. Bits of stuffing flew out of the burlap pony as she began trying moves that would not exactly look out of place in a wrestling ring.

Ticktock smirked "Well look who's stopping going easy on me" Caliber was not the only one learning his opponents style "Well he has quick reflexes so I will need to move quicker. Wait that's it" He thought to himself. Ticktock then cast illusions of himself all around Caliber as he illusions moved towards Caliber Ticktock snuck into the shadows for now he had his tactic he would exhaust Caliber and then attack.

Blizzard watched Caliber's and Ticktock's duel, "Hmmm interesting move out there by Ticktock, Caliber didn't even see it coming!" He then thought to himself, "I'd better be ready in case there becomes a serious problem out there.Don't want anypony to get hurt in a friendly match."

caliber kept fighting, and when the illusions were cast, he looked around, then sighed. "ticktock, that wont work on me." he said simply. the illusions didn't have an aura. none of them did. and that meant ticktock wasn't among them. caliber looked around slowly, scanning the area for ticktocks burnt orange aura. "and just so we're clear, im still pulling punches. im still going easy on ya." he saw the tell-tale aura color in a shadowy corner, and dashed towards him, sword at the ready. "if ya want, i can up the difficulty..." he teased, as he resumed. 

 

'ticktock is almost certainly a fencer. but ill need just a little more info...' he thought.

"Well well well aren't we a little bag of tricks but if you think this is easy then by all means give it your all" Said Ticktock smirking. As Caliber swung his sword toward him he Just stood there all that he seemed to be doing was keeping the projection alive but that was just to hide the fact that he had actually put an invisible shield around himself.

caliber's sword bounced off the force field, out of his grip, into the air. caliber jumped, and grabbed it. "oh? you say you want me to give it my all?" caliber said in the air, clearly confused. "your still new...but hey." he grinned. "you need to know just how good i am." caliber spun downwards, doing a dive bomb. ticktock dived outta the way, and had barely enough time to stand back up before caliber was upon him. caliber grinned, and started a hurricane of slashes, using way of the wanderer. he could still stop a sword swing, should ticktock fail to block/dodge, and he was certain ticktock would slip up soon. "iv decided on your sword style!" caliber called out.

Even though Ticktock heard Caliber talking he didn't say a work because he knew that he now had to stay one hundred percent focused. And as every slash came at his Ticktock countered it. He was still focusing on defence because he knew that the only way he would win was to just hang in there longer than Caliber so that's what he did.

caliber was actually starting to enjoy himself. he was still not really fighting, he was a friend. but its impressive he's lasted this long, considering he hasn't fought before this. its rather intriguing. "break!" caliber called out, and stopped his onslaught that second. caliber looked at ticktock, and smiled. "you show talent, bro. i think you'd be set for fencing." caliber said.

Ticktock froze as soon as he heard Caliber shout break. Then as Caliber said that he was talented Ticktock said "Well gees dude coming from you that means a lot.2 Then as Caliber said he would be a good fencer Ticktock said " Wow really you think so. Well then I guess that's us done sparing for the day then" Suddenly Ticktock dropped the sword and it did something rather peculiar. The cogs on it started to turn and the blade moved backward until it was half the size. (Which conveniently enough was the perfect travel size)

Icarus went back to his tent and began to prepare. He collected supplies and went around the camp getting anything he didn't need. He couple checked the seal on his mask, and checked that his suit was ready to be put to use in a contaminated environment. Satisfied, he organized it all and put it in his bag, and stored his bolts and their secure section of the bag.

caliber stared at the sword that had folded in on itself. then, he took out his sword, and dropped it on the ground, expecting it to do the same. it didn't. "oh..." caliber sheathed his sword, and turned to ticktock. "welp, looks like i was right about the sword. it is a good one." he said, grinning.

Blizzard jumped down from his ice pillar, "*lands* Wow guys that was awesome both of you! I mean Ticktock for somepony who's never used a sword before, you sure know how to handle it! You guys were both amazing! Are you guys tired? Wanna go get something to drink to refresh yourselves?"

Ticktock was just as amazed as Caliber at his sword folding it's self in "Well that's cool and I can know fit it in my bag. However I think I should name it I mean don't all swords get named?" Asked Ticktock slightly puzzled at the idea of naming sword but he also found it pretty cool at the same time.

"totally, you should name it!" caliber exclaimed. then he turned to ice blizzard "nah...i gotta go get something. be right back" caliber said, as he walked over to the general book store, then the weapons store again, then his own room at the tavern. he walked back to ice blizzard and ticktock. "here" he said, as he gave ticktock around twelve books. "the're all on fencing. i suggest you practice the moves and sequences in there." caliber said, in a rather serious tone. "and by the way, those are the basics."

By the time she had finished, Tyra had totally destroyed the dummy, leaving it as just a pile of stuffing and burlap on the ground. She sat down and wiped a bead of sweat from her brow.

"Phew, I think I am certainly prepared now!" She grinned to herself, trotting past the stallions to grab a drink from the mess hall.

 

After downing a healthy mug of cider, she re-emerged and met up with her group once again.

"I am ready to fight the witch's pirates when you all are!" She declared, smirking.

Ticktock smiled "Study 12 books ha as an ace magic student I have read way more of books than that this is nothing trust me. Although I have come up with a name for my sword I shall call it Timesplitter." Ticktock then gets the first book and puts the rest of them in his bag. He then goes on to read the book immediately.

Blizzard replied, "Eh suit yourself." He then gets a mug of cider as well and after he finishes it he asks Caliber an Ticktock, "So guys, anything else you wanna do here? I mean, well Ticktock seems to have a lot to study before we go. Tyra's ready to go. What about you Caliber?" He then looks around, "And I saw Radiant getting food, but where is the doc?"

Radiant left the mess hall to go find his team. After scanning the area he found them up the path, most of them seemed to breathing a bit heavier then usual.

 

Radiant approached them all, "alright hour is up we need to move out. We'll gather Icarus when we pass his tent." Radiant ordered as he begun walking in the direction of their destination.

Ticktock was so immersed in the book I didn't hear Radiant but then his brain kick started Ticktock was then sent into total shock "What where who. Then he remembered what was happening and the registered what Radiant had said to which he replied "Sir, Yes, Sir!"

Blizzard then cracks his neck, "If our fearless leader is ready, then I'm ready! If we're getting Icarus at his tent, I hope he's ready because it's time to get moving! Is everypony ready to go?" Blizzard said as he slowly jogged in place due to excitement over the new location.

Tyra nodded and gave a salute before following after Radiant. "Aye, let us move out!"

 

She marched along with her group, eyeing up Icarus's tent as they neared it. She really hoped their letters would reach their homes in time. She wasn't showing it right now, but she was concerned for her home.

 

"They shall not outsmart us this time, we will be prepared!" She yelled.
