Silvermane was just about done re-arranging his limb to the right configurations. His left hoof was now a deadly melee weapon capable of destroying almost anything in his path. It was time for battle.

"Alright you metal basterds, time to show you some real steel."

A shrike came flying full speed at him. He readjusted his position so he wouldnt be harmed from the recoil. He pulled his hoof back as far as he could, then launched it at the incoming shrike. The force of impact was larger then expected, as Silvermane could feel the metal bones of the shrikes bend and twist as the hoof went deeper into the chest. Any chances of the bird's survival was slim to none. He pulled back his hoof and let the limb's recoil function take hold and pushed the bird backwards. The shrike went sailing back and landed stone cold on the terrain. He paused only a moment to look at the shrike corpse. He then looked up to the sky and smirked.

Silvermane was ready for more.

Agent took note of the shrikes circling him and tried to avoid the attacks that came. He frantically kept on changing his course of direction until a claw got him in the back, barely missing his saddlebag. He winced and tilted the head of the Shrike he was riding down, forcing the others to follow suit. He continued to dive bomb towards the ground, until jumping off at the last minute, sending the shrike he was riding plus another to be destroyed upon impact.

He skidded on the ground, and struggled to get up as he noticed another Shrike coming at him. It's claws were outstretched and was about to grab Agent, until he grabbed it by it's head again. This time he pushed it to the ground before the Shrike got a chance to rise to the air again. Agent continued to wrestle with the Shrike until he finally attempted to snap it's neck. The Shrike was frantically trying to escape until it stopped moving. Agent let go of the Shrike; It lay motionless on the ground, and that was good enough for him.

Agent sighed, trying to feel the wounds that he took from Shrike, and made his way towards Silvermane. He drew his sword and kept his balance as he searched his bag for a cloth, cringing with every movement he made.

( 1) Cliche or not, it still has my interest. 2) Was this a bit too OP?)

(I'd rather this didn't die, is everypony cool with a short time skip and an arbitrary explanation I will totally just pull out of my ass as to how the two groups managed to coordinate their attacks?)

(okay, the main group owned the shrikes and made it to the stronghold without incident. The small group began to climb and hid near the top.

The stronghold has very high walls, maybe 100 feet or so, all made of metal. There is a massive door, also metal. There are no windows, and turrets of some sort can be seen on top of the walls, to deal with attacks from flyers.)

An alarm wailed. Ignite woke up irritably and walked to the central area near his room. He adressed a pony clad in dark red armor.

"dammit, what's going on that's so important you had to sound the alarm?"

The pony saluted and pulled a small price of paper from his pocket.

"Report from our scouts. A small force is on it's way here. Theyre coming from the west, and they'll reach the main gate in a few minutes. Orders?"

Ignite was already walking back to his room. "You woke me up for that? Am I the only intelligent one here? Send the golems out to deal with them."

"Yes sir." said the armored pony. He went to the control room and issued some quick orders. Another pony Pulled a few levers.

(Hidden doors around the base of the stronghold open up, each revealing another metal golem. There are twelve.)

In their new hiding place, Legacy had cast a few spells to keep them hidden. The trio all looked up when the heard a loud sound.

"does that sound like an alarm to anypony else?" Legacy asked. "The attack may have started. We need to be ready to move soon."

Garth had been left in his cell, but he hardly noticed his surroundings. He was too lost in thought. He tried to think back, but he felt confused after his  encounter with Anarchy.

He was back in his hometown, a small griffon village, isolated from other cities. The nearest town was a small pony town, one with strange customs. They hated and feared the griffons, their feelings stemming from ancient legends and old prejudices. The two groups never fought, but there was a lot of tension between them.

When Garth was very young, he had found a baby filly while helping his father hunt. They found the parents not far off, killed by a wild animal. They took the filly home and raised her. Born of ponies and raised by griffons, she became the first to make peace between the two towns. Trade opened up, territory and farmland were shared.

Legacy began to study the ancient art of Rune Magic, and became immensely powerful. She used her power to facilitate interactions between the ponies and griffons, preventing the old hatred from returning.

But the peace didn't last. The ponies became angry that Legacy lived with the griffons and demanded that a griffon be sent to live with them, to insure that Legacy acted in the interests of both parties. The griffons agreed, and the tension was eased for a short time.

Eventually, the griffon was kidnapped by a group of ponies who held on to their old hatred of griffons. Several of the bolder griffons, Garth included, staged a rescue attempt. They were merely trying to find the kidnapped griffon, but a battle broke out, and several ponies died.

The ponies saw this as a direct attack by the griffons, and a retaliated swiftly and brutally. A large mob attacked the griffon village. Though the griffons were bigger and stronger, the ponies had superior numbers, as well as unicorns. The griffons were massacred.

Garth's brain was reeling with all the memories. He had killed a pony that night, it was partly his fault. He had had to hide from the ponies, and didn't even realize they had attacked his home until the next morning. He had asked Legacy where she had been; surely she could've stopped it with her magic?

"I'm sorry, Garth, I was studying, trying new runes. I was deep in a trance, I didn't realize what had happened until they knocked my door down. I'm sorry, I didn't know."

Garth had accepted her friends answer. He knew she often experimented with runes of her own invention, trying to discover new way to bend reality. But now, he wasn't so sure. She had wards around her at all times, that's how she knew when and where she needed to be when a fight arose. That's how she kept the peace for so long. He had seen her come out of a trance before to address a problem, why hadn't she this time?

Garth banged on his cell door.

"SKITTER!"

A brief clicking sound. "yes?"

"Tell your boss I want to speak with him."

(stop burying this RP damnit! :P)

Agent couldn't take his eyes off of Rigel, still unconcious from his attack. He focused back on the blaring alarm, booming from the castle, as the golems started appearing each as big and powerful as the others.

"Well... shit." Agent muttered, half-jokingly. "Anyone got some ideas as to what to do?"

Gesboiath brought himself down to brush against the ground and growled. "The same thing we did last time, Agent. Blast those furnaces wide open." He took off sideways, going for a piece of scrap metal to use as a projectile. When he arrived, he hit an upraised edge of it, making it jump up into the air. When it was slightly above the line from Gesboiath to one of the golems, he hit it with a blast of air, sending it flying towards the golems.

The golem roared as the metal struck it's chest, denting it. It picked up the metal and dropped it into it's mouth, adding to the molten mass inside it's furnace. It bent down a sent a jet of flame at gesboiath.

The other golems began to slowly circle the group, occasionally throwing a chunk of metal or stone at them.

Silvermane had to be more careful dealing with the golems. It was one thing to kill a bird with thin metal bones, but to take down a thick skinned behemoth was another story. His repulse ligaments had only enough power to dent the golems, but not enough to take out the funace. He had to come up with a solution.

"Keep them distracted. I'll dent them around their legs. That should be enough to make them fall and give us some time to put out the furnace."

(I'm sorry everypony, especially you linguz, but I think I've lost interest in this RP. I like the universe, and the overarching plot about the bards of chaos and so forth. I like the characters, and I'm happy with where this has gone. I'd love to continue my little sidestory with garth and nightshade, but st the same time, I don't. But it just doesn't interest me enough anymore. maybe in the future I'll steal it ask linguz if I can use it for something of my own.

This has nothing to do with any of you. This is just something that has happened to me ever since I first had an idea for a story; I come up with awesome stuff, I plan out a big story, all in my head. But when it's time to write it, I can't do it, it bores me for some reason.

So again, I'm sorry everypony, but I can't run this anymore. If somepony else wants to take over, I might continue posting, but I'm not sure.)

(After this part, I was actually planning on switching people every zone so instead, I'll just take the mantle up again. I'll most likely either have a single character influencing the roleplay or none at all and play the enemies alone. You'll have to tell me where you were going with that Garth storyline though.)

We've introduced a new roleplay system to MLP Forums. To maintain a consistent format, we have locked and archived all of the original roleplay threads in Cloudsdale Colosseum. If you would like to continue your roleplay, please re-create it according to the new system.
