Lionheart saw that his fake didn't work. He needed another plan and fast. Fortunatly the HO didnt notice him yet and he had already spend a lot of power on barrier to put a strong one right now. His only option was a small not so strong barrier to give Lucas and himself just enough time to run back upstairs and barricade in a room.

 

Lionheart went out of the shadows and quickly put the weak barrier arround the HO containing him there for a few second and quickly shouted. "Lucas now, It won't holf for very long."

The HO swung and bashed at the barrier. Can't let them get away! He pulled all his strength into one blow. The barrier shattered, blowing him off ballence. He pulled himself back up. His bad leg was almost completely broken off from the blow. He shambled toward Lucas, dragging his fourth leg behind him with a pool of blood streaking from the open wound. Even for a monster, the pain was almost unbarable.

Lucas quickly Flew for the room waiting for Lionheart so they could block the door stopping the HO from getting to them and attacking them. He Slowly desends to the floor hovering above the ground making sure not to stand.

"I love you Lovely," four words that sent Lovely's heart into a dash. Lovely's eyes widened and she blushed madly, her pink fac esson turned red. "I always have. Ever since I moved in here three months ago. I just didn't want to make a fool of myself trying to compete with the other, more handsome colts who fought for your attention.. I thought that some pony like you wouldn't go with a bookworm pony like myself. I admired you a lot Lovely. But, now that I know what kind of pony you really are, I see the beautiful heart inside the beautiful mare." Lovely was grinning like a fool, and giggling like a little filly. She felt butterfly swilr in her stomach and a warmness around her heart everytime Lab brag spoke. "I'm not going to let you down, Lovely. I'm not going to let any pony who lives here down. I'll find a cure, no matter how difficult it may be. I already lost some pony important in my life ,but my mother wouldn't want me to waste time crying over her. She may be proud of me now up there in Celestia's skies ,but she won't be proud of me if me and every other pony in the building meets her there. Thanks, Lovely. I owe you nothing ,but my best in getting us out of this." Inspired by Lab brag's boldness and determination Lovely grabbed his face and kissed him.

As she slowly pulled away from the kiss she whispered into his ears, "I love you too." Lovely stood up and nodded, "let's get back down to George and figure this out, anything else you need here?" She smiled, high off love.

Croaks could still barely stand up, but he eventually worked himself to it.

He stumbled over to the bathroom.

Looking in the mirror, he washed his face, trying to refresh himself. He then proceeded to check for any wounds. And that's when he noticed it.

One, small scratch near his elbow.

What?! Thy didn't even touch me! How could this happen?! he thought, hoping the scratch wasn't enough to heavily infect or kill him.

 

Croaks was an honest man. He walked over back to the chair and sat in it again.

"I'm scratched," he said.

The HO pounded on the locked door. Blood oozed from his leg, or lack there of.

"This will be fine, I have dealt with terminal cases before...", he thought, "Wait... what am I thinking, I'm not going yo give up on somepony!" He then looked at Croaks, "I'm not going to decide for you, but I can try to keep you alive until we find out what is going on. What that dusease is. If you want to retreat though, that is fine aswell. But tell us please, as soon as possible." George looked serious, he tried to sound as professional as possible.

Lionheart too made the dash for the room and soon after the closed the door the HO was pounding it to break in.. "Damn that bad we need to do something pluus this wound.-Lionheart touches the scratch.- It pains a lot, way too much for such a wound" Lionheart said worried afraid about could come up next.

 

"But alas first we must come up with a way to escape from this guy. Is it possible to go out at the balcony and climb our way up to the room above that the other are or in your case just fly." He wasn't sure if that was safe simple because the ponies that locked them in may shoot at them if the went out but at this point it was either that or the HO finally getting in and killing them anyway.

2:40am.

 

The bitten fire-fighter begins to feel nervous as he hears the infected HO banging on the door.

The bitten fire-fighter turns to Lionheart, "We can't leave! They've got the building surrounded, with helicopters and everything. If we even get too close to the windows they'll shoot us dead." The fire-fighter approaches George Gray, "please help me too. I've been bitten much longer than him, I need help!" The bitten fire-fighter glances at Croaks, his pupils dilated and shaking. The bitten fire-fighter turns and grabbed Croaks, holding him down, "filthy, unclean, filthy, unclean." The fire-fighter kept repeating himself as his shaking becomes more violent and his eyes turn red. Suddenly the fire-fighter pukes blood all over Croak's chest and collapses to the floor.

 

2:41am

 

A pony shrieking is heard from above.

Croaks notices the fire fighter staring at him.

The fire fighter shoves and tackles him to the ground and yells something. All of a sudden, he pukes blood all over him.

"What the actual f&%k?!" Croaks yells.

Lucas flies towards the balcony door opens it and looks up "Mine and Dusks Door should be open i can carry you as i fly but first" He rips a bit of the curtain off and throws it to Lionheart "Wrap that around the scratch....And thank you i thought it was gonna get me for a second...on the way up do you think we should check on the others?"

Hearing the comotion, the HO pounded on the door faster. chips of wood splintered and fell. He was almost able to make a cmplete hole in the door.

Lovely grabbed his face and kissed him. As she slowly pulled away from the kiss she whispered into his ears, "I love you too." Lovely stood up and nodded, "let's get back down to George and figure this out, anything else you need here?" She smiled.

 

I could barely even think straight. I had my head so up in the clouds, all I could think about was what an amazing kisser Lovely was. And... and she said she loved me. Gah, I'll never live this down. I'll still have this goofy face on even when the zomponies are munching on me. I got up and said, "Yeah, we should go get the bags and stuff...," with goofy face still intact. I went back to the counter where I dropped the medical supplies, stuffed them all in my saddlebag, checked to see if I still had the other saddlebag on the left side of my body with the nail gun and knife inside, and made sure Lovely had the two saddlebags stuffed with food and her hammer. "Alright, we got everything. Let's go downstairs to check how George is doing. Wai--," I stopped mid-sentence and realized how they would never open the door for us without knowing if we were... well.

 

I trotted over to my shattered wireless phone in my lab, pieced it back together, and made a call to George to let him know we were at my place the whole time and we were coming down, then hung up. I went back over to Lovely. So, if we are mare friend and colt friend now, does that mean we can walk hoof in hoof? I was blushing as I smiled at Lovely and grabbed her hoof after opening the door and lead the way.

It's 2:55am.

 

Lucas walks onto the balcony of 3B and immediately the police on the ground start shooting at him. Bullets fly everywhere one shooting off Lucas' ear and another in his arm. The bullets break all of Greenery's potted plants, creating a mess of the balcony. Lucas runs back into the apartment for safety. A megaphone is heard again, "Do not try to attempt to leave the building, next time we won't miss."

 

3:00am

 

The bitten fire-fighter begins to twitch as he slowly rises to his feet again. His eye are blood red as he makes eye contact with Greenery and screeches loudly. The bitten fire-fighter charges at Greenery and grabs him. He sinks his teeth into Greenery's neck and rips off a huge chunk. Greenery dies.

As George was about to turn his attention to the firefighter, who hasn't said anything actually, he saw him die onto Croaks, why he chose him is kind of a mistery to him, but he will probably never know. He wanted to pin him down, prevent him from doing any harm to anypony. But it was too late, George called out, "No!" as he tried to get a grip on the now not dead firefighter, "Buck you!" He shouted and tried to push him away from Greenery. He then saw the wound, "Oh no.", he now said, his voice being really low. "Get away, and lie down. I will try to come back at you as soon as I got these two handled.", his eyes were slightly wet, and he didn't sound as assured as earlier but he hoped Croaks would listen.

Lovely smiled and blushed back as she grabbed onto Lab brag's hoof. She rubbed her nose against his quickly and then turned to face the door, ready to leave. "I hope everything is okay down there, who knows how long this quarantine will last. I've almost forgotten that those monsters are running around. You can be very distracting." Lovely giggled. As Lovely and Lab brag walked hoof-in-hoof down the stairwell, Lovely stopped Lab brag before entering the hall of floor 3. "Do you hear that?" She whispered to him, "sounds like banging and scratching and screeching. Is it safe to enter?"

It's 3:01am

 

The infected HO is able to break through the door of apartment 3B, the infected fire-fighter falls to the ground, licking Greenery's blood off his lips.

As Croaks lied in the ground, he saw the firefighter reanimate and attack Greenery.

"No!" he shouts. But sadly, it's too late. The fire fighter sinks his teeth into Greenery's neck, tearing off a mushy, red piece of flesh.

George took care of the fire fighter before he hurt anyone else.

When it was over, Croaks stood up.

Covered in blood, he threw up from being disgusted. He had a throbbing headache. He walked over to he walked over to the fire fighter and attempted to decapitate him.

"I could say the same thing about you," I said to Lovely as we walked hoof in hoof downstairs, commenting on how she said I was distracting her. She stopped from entering the hall of floor 3 when I heard sounds coming from one of the apartments. "Do you hear that?" She whispered to me, "sounds like banging and scratching and screeching. Is it safe to enter?" "Guess not," I told her as I reached into my saddlebag, levitated out my nail gun, and readied myself before I entered the hall.

Croaks decapitates the infected fire-fighter as he lays on the ground. The infected fire-fighter is now dead. Lab brag shoots as the infected HO, the nails pierced the HO's legs and chips off sides of his skull, injuring, but not killing him.

Lovely was disgusted as she watched the nails chips of pieces of the infected HO's skull. She looked over to Lab brag, "he's going into the apartment! What are we going to do?!"

"There's only one way to kill these things," I told Lovely. From what I remember, because they were dead, these infected ponies bodily parts tore off a lot easier than regular ponies. Still, for what I was going to do, I didn't want to get close. I put my nail gun back in my saddle bag, levitated out my knife, and from long ranged distance, using my telekinesis, I cut full circle around the base of the zom-pony HO's neck while it was still taking in the pain from the nails and couldn't move. That would make his head easier to tear off. I then charged at him and bucked him in the face.

"AHHH MY BUCKING EAR!!! Celestia why do you hate me?" he says Trying to find something to help "Why are they shooting us? What did we do?....I bet it was the Weirdo in the lab making a virus or bombs something like that" he see's the door break "You have got to be kidding me!" He pushes Lionheart into the wardrobe and he flies to the roof trying to hide from the HO.

Croaks is immediately alarmed by the HO entering.

 

He uses what energy he has left to stumble to him and attempt to decapitate him as well.

It's 3:15am

 

Lab brag decapitates the infected HO killing him. Lab brag searches the body of the infected HO and finds blood samples, syringes and a map of the building. As Lab brag inspects the map he notices the building has a basement floor, a basement floor nopony has heard of before. The way to enter the basement floor and if it even exists is unknown.
