Harmony: the religion of Equestria?

Should the idea of Harmony in Equestria be thought of as religion? It's the only thing the ponies have any real belief in, what do you guys and gals think?

Uh, I doubt it. Really, it doesn't seem like there's anything religious or religion-related in Equestria, besides Derpy's obsession with muffins.

I think it would be better to say that they have no religion and they don't need the guidance of one anyway because they're doing fine without one. There might be cults that worship Celestia or Luna but their beliefs in Harmony are more about the way they live their lives and treat each other.

I think Equestria has the same sense of religion as we do. There is a variety of different religions, and some ponies don't even have a religion. I think Feeling Pinkie Keen strongly hints at Twilight being an atheist for example. I just don't see Equestria as a theocracy.
