technical issue Not allowed to delete replies to others' status updates

This happens when I make a reply to others' status updates either resulting in a typographical error or a double post due to a slow connection. When attempting to delete the old comment, it appears to be deleted, but refreshing the page replaces the deleted comment. This seems to happen more on replies to others' status updates than my own.

We are aware and have been for months. In fact there is an engineering and development task open to enhance this, but it hasn't happened because it is lower on the prioritized list than forum breaking issues. Because of that there is no ETA that we can communicate.
