I'm proposing at the moment a roleplay set in a civil war crisis between the ultranationalists of the Arabian Tribal Houses (political families) and the Royal Monarchy of Saddle Arabia

 

The players will be taking the role of a paramilitary volunteer army composed of many ponies and other beings from around the world to stop the atrocities by the ultranationalists. The genre is semi modern military theme. The story will follow this unit of players performing operations throughout Saddle Arabia.

 

Player acceptance will vary based upon the presentation and profile fit of the characters.

By semi modern what do you mean, because maybe Spectre could fit, he has experience with doing Counter-Terror operations in Saddle Arabia and the Surrounding other Nations. This may not be labeled as Counter-Terror but he could still be a good member.

By semi modern I mean by the tactics and weaponry are presented by modern military technology. But some elements of the story will follow with some of the themes from the show i.e. Royal Guards occasional medieval themes etc.

The only requirement is a reason or know how of joining the group : The Free National Arabian Volunteers.

 

 

what do you mean by this though, i'm not sure i understand. since i don't understand does that mean i don't meet the requirements? where do you join that group? does mlp forums even have a group system?

I'm perplexed exactly about Dragon fire.

 

His personality doesn't exactly fit a combatant. Plus he doesn't seem to like fighting.

to be honest not entirely, though isn't it said nobody likes to fight in a war? are you supposed to make a character for each specific RP? i tried to keep his discription simple for any type of role play so i could use him everywhere. i didn't want to narrow it down to only millitary/ action RP's. he's definatly not that into fighting. but considering the atrocities commited by the enemy he's driven enough to fight. he'd make a decent medic/negotiator in my opinion.

I suppose she seems amicable. Okay she can join.

 

But she'll be designated as another rifleman. Due to extreme travel security protocols and contraband laws she will not be permitted to bring her own weapons (but I'll exempt the katana I suppose) so you'll be geared up by the volunteer army.

...This actually seems very interesting. If at all possible, could I join with Wilhelm? He's certainly got the military experience, plus, as my reason, I could say that he was roped up in the fight while in Saddle Arabia on a research trip, and had to take up arms to survive.

Some thoughts regarding this particular roleplay:

-I've had Steeleye as many things, from bodyguard for hire to personal advisor to the Royal Princesses, in certain roleplays.

-Almost always I've had him inclined towards the militarization of magic.

-Under such, rather than having singularly powerful unicorns go into combat (such as Twilight Sparkle before her transformation), groups of less powerful magic users are grouped together in squads/cabals/covens.

-Primary duties and skills of these groups has been to collectively channel low level spells, generally elemental ones such as ice and fire, along with battlefield healing spells. As such their role is primarily as medics and long range fire support.

 

So could I have his as either a mercenary or military attache lent to the Saddle Arabian Royal House by Equestria, and be in command of a cabal?

I don't mean to upset you, but the roleplay,will be focusing about the squad interaction and operations.

 

Having joined this organization you will have volunteered (mercenaries are not apart of the volunteer army, but former mercenaries have joined) or you can indeed be sent by the Royal Monarchy as an asset.

 

So unfortunately you will not be commanding squads, not to say you can't advise of course.

Given the circumstance, it is not all that upsetting. His role as a magical conduit and/or liaison remains the same.

 

He will feel a bit out of place without his normal squad, but he will manage well enough. And I think the 'sent by the Princesses' route will be the best.

 

But otherwise he is accepted? Brilliant!
