Mr. H narrowed his eyes at the student who tried to skip, but he didn't look like he was extremely annoyed by it "oh really?" He said "hm, that sounds like a good idea, but I Think I have a better idea on what she can do..." He said.

Mr. H called the classroom over impatiently "ALRIGHT! WE'RE GOING TO THE TRACK NOW! LET'S HEAD OUT!" He hollered more impatiently; trotting towards the door.

Mr. H looked at the pony who tried to ditch "you, stay with me." He demanded.

Skylar jumped outside. "Ah! Fresh air!" She cried dramatically before breathing out and in very heavily. She jumped back to Sketchy and Lightning. "Come on, guys! Just four-hundred yards!-- yo, Lightning, you okay? You look like you slept half an hour in the past two days." She said, suddenly noticing how tired he seemed. He had been very grumpy, probably his tiredness attributed to that...

Sigma slowly caught up to Lightning, Sketchy, and Skylar, and broke his concentration for a moment so he could ask the group of pegasi a question.

 

"How many yards was it again?" he asked. Even as he asked the question, he was still pandering the idea of a potential theorem in the back of his head, but regardless, he was focused enough to comprehend the answer to the question he had just asked.

@@Pelate, Tranq's eyes grew with fear, and then she pulled back that instinct and replaced it with a scowl. A sneer made her lip upturn. "I can take anything you dish out old man," she muttered under her breath, rubbing her ear, which had been unfortunately close to the coach's mouth when he had shouted at the other students.

"Well then," Beguiling Blush said brightly, "It seems like everypony is in good hooves here, so if you will excuse me," she turned to go, then paused and said over her shoulder, "However, as punishment, you will be required to come to my club after school. I expect to see you there, or there will be consequences." Well, at least one student will be there for it. She started walking again towards her office.

Mr. H was standing at the track, and he looks at the students "alright, I just want one lap, and I will time you. don't worry too much about your time you will not be graded on your speed. Just go all the way." He explained, then Mr. H lined up the students on the track. "GO!!!" he shouted as he blew his whistle, and started the stopwatch.

Mr. H looked at the student next to him "As for you, since you' were trying to skip class. I want You get skip 400 yards around, and if upu don't finish in less than 2 minutes I'll make you do it again!" he instructed to the student "GO!" He shouted blowing the whistle.

"I'm fine." He said groggily.

He lined up with the rest of the ponies, the whistle went and he took off, the adrenaline in his body was what was keeping his speed. He wasn't focused on the other ponies around him, he saw the finishing line up ahead, but he still had no idea about the positions of his classmates..

Skylar galloped as fast as she could. She'd constantly been told when she was younger, "You don't have to make everything a competition!"

 

But what was the fun in that?

 

Oh, Lightning was fast! She lowered her head, galloping furiously, catching up to his side. She was huffing a little. She was a great flyer, but not the best runner. She was ahead of most other ponies in the class, save a few, including Lightning.

However she soon ceased them as she found herself quickly out of breath, and well behind where she needed to be to finish in the alloted time. She quietly smoldered as she picked up the pace.

Sigma sprinted past several ponies as he quickly covered ground on the track. He was never good in sports due to his timid nature towards anything physical, but for some reason, he never found galloping a problem. It usually didn't take long for the unicorn to lose his breath, but he would probably at least be close to the end of the track before that happened. Even as he was passing ponies left and right, he was still thinking about what he had just read.

 

"Hmm, maybe I can create a version of mathematical induction that can be used to set rules for some things other than the natural numbers, like multiples of two or reciprocals of the natural num-" *Smack* "Aah!"

 

Sigma, distracted by his mathematics, slammed hard in to Skylar and hit the ground even harder. "Ow, I think I scrapped my shoulder..." Sigma said out loud as he touched the top of his left foreleg and felt a sting. His head also ached a bit; he hoped he didn't get a concussion.

Mr.H had gotten the time for almost all of the students "49 seconds Lightning. Outstanding job"

 

Sketchy finished after Lightning He let out a breath after he had finished "ooh man-"

"51 seconds! Good work!" Said Mr. H.

 

Mr. H looked around, and all but two ponies who were on the ground. "For celestia'a sake!" He yelled beginning to walk towards them.

Skylar blinked several times, stunned. She was... on the ground..? Her muzzle was sticking in the dirt. She could hear Mr. H shouting.

 

Wait... what-- what the hay was on top of her? It was big and furry.

 

"Oof!" She groaned, attempting to stand up. Ugh! Whatever it was was big! Wait, had some idiot crashed into her?! She fell back to the ground, winded as she hit it.

 

She rolled over on her back with some effort, trying to push the pony off her. It was Sigma.

 

Fireworks lit in her mind. How romantic! He had crashed into her and knocked her in the dust! This was a sure sign that he was interested in her! All anger evaporated from her mind. He was so clumsy and cute-- he just wanted her attention!

 

"Oooooh, hello." She said, batting her eyelashes again. Unfortunately, there was dirt on her lash, which then fell into her eye. "Buck!" She cried, lifting her hoof up and knocking him off her as she rubbed her eye.

Sigma completely and utterly broke his concentration on mathematics as well as his injuries when he realized he was... on top of a mare!?

 

"I'm so sorry!" Sigma yelled as he jumped up on to his hooves. "I wasn't paying attention to where I was going! Are you hurt!?"

"Yes! I am mortally wounded!" Skylar wailed, rubbing at her eye furiously with her hoof and accidentally poking it to hard. "Ooooow!" She howled. It didn't actually hurt that much, but it was fun making a big deal out of it. She paused, suddenly realizing every pony else had made it to the finish. And most were staring.

 

She trotted casually across the line and sat down again, rubbing her eye. She wasn't tearing up, of course-- she wasn't that wimpy-- but she was holding her eye a little more than necessary.

Serian sighed as he instead of running, walked the entire course whilst using his magic to shift the plates until a click was heard and he put it on his left front hoof then continued walking forward. Faster this time ofcourse passing the people who had fallen to the ground and into the finish yawning.

 

(I used abit of past stuff to make him catch up in the story... Dont mind that.)

Sigma, who was freaking out over what he had done, didn't take the time to think about how a 'mortally wounded' mare could casually trot across the finish line before continuing her pain and suffering, galloped to the end of the track, and sat down next to the mare, putting his hoof on her back in an attempt to comfort her.

 

Sigma looked away from the mare for a moment to see tens of pairs of eyes staring at the two. He was about to become as red as a tomato before a self-made command boomed in his head: "Ignore them!"

 

Sigma closed his eyes for a moment; the ponies around him were not of his concern. He then opened his eyes and turned to the mare he had knocked down. "Do you need to see the school nurse?" he asked timidly.

She was very pleased as he awkwardly pat her back in an awkward attempt to comfort her. She squealed inwardly. He's so adorable!

 

She stiffened as he mentioned the nurse. She wasn't that hurt! In fact, she wasn't in pain at all! "I'm fine!" She said sulkily. Then, deciding that was no way to treat the pony so terribly in love with her, smiled at him sweetly. "But thank you!" She added.

Sigma let out a sigh of relief. "Okay, that's good." he commented. He almost went back to what he was thinking about beforehoof before something else occurred to him: a certain full grown stallion was yelling at them while they were in that awkward position, and that full grown stallion was... an ex-drill sergeant who also happened to be their gym coach.

 

Sigma turned to the school employee, and put on a face of... something as he realized he was going to be scolded for what he had done.

I guess he thought about their teacher considering how he looks. Could be someone else, hes not sure... hes met too many morons in his life.

Oh. Oh, yeah. Mr. H was mad at them. She slowly turned to Mr. H and gave a very wide, slightly extremely nervous smile.

She heard a pony behind her muttering something about how they should hug a tree. And that she was an idiot. She turned around. "Why would I hug a tree, idiot?" She retorted sassily, mentally patting herself on the back for the quick retort.

Lightning watched as Skylar and Sigma akwardly fumbled on the ground, but as he stepped forward to help them up, he heard a pony behind them..

He looked at this new pony, chuckling at him.

"All talk and no bite, isn't that right?"

He smiled at Skylar going off at him. She wasn't afraid to stand up for herself.

"You guys ok?" He spoke, nodding towards the two ponies.

"I'm pretty sure my left shoulder's scrapped. Can you tell if my head's injured? It wouldn't do me much good if I end up with a concussion." the stallion said.

Mr. H looked at Sigma with a wide eyed scowl "ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!" He yelled "I CANT TELL IF YOURE BLIND OR SIMPLY UNAWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS!" He pointed at the starting line "DO IT OVER AGAIN!" He blasted his whistle, and started the stopwatch "GO!!!" He hollered. He looked at Skylar "are you okay Skylar?" He asked cocking an eyebrow "you aren't hurt too bad?"

Skylar blinked as Lightning snapped at the grumpy pony that had called her an idiot. And then asked if she was alright. And then Mr. H shouted at Sigma and also asked her if she was alright.

 

"Psh, yeah! I'm great!" She snorted, jerking a hoof at Sigma. "I'm fine! I think he might be a little scraped up, though."

Sigma felt his heart stop for a moment when the coach yelled at him. His ears folded back, his cheeks blushed slightly, and his eyes resembled that of a puppy dog. Then, when he heard the command to run the track again, he scampered off to go do so. Sigma always felt bad when ponies yelled at him...

Satisfied, he went to stand next to the racing track. He hadn't seen Sigma run, so he was interested at what had made him lose his concentration. He glanced back at the other ponies, all of which were standing around looking at Skylar and Mr H.
