Green listened intently to Midnight as she spoke. "I see. That seems useful." He saw her eyes change color. "That bothers me..." he thought to himself. "I'll see you there, I guess." He said as she flew off. "Wings. Interesting." Green pulled out a notepad and wrote down the address and the time then looked back to the crime scene. "It's too clean. This guy, Fear, must be a real pro. He could be a real problem." He grabbed his sword and climbed back to a different roof.

Neri sighed as he 'heard' someone suspicious and he decided to stalk him from a distant to wait for him to start some trouble so he had the rights to... Perhaps 'slightly' injure him. Maybe not, maybe just capture the person and deal with that 'time to stalk someone then' he thought before walking some steps behind, he knew some of his friends in this form would be somewhere on the street drunk right now so he changed his body to look like some homeless person walking around the street.

Oh what a wonderful day to go contract killing. False Shade crept the rooftops looking for his intended target. It wasn't the best contract he ever got, some gang leader wanted his rival gang eradicated, but money is money. I'm still above these sort of people, wonder if a local mob is looking for some mercs.

 

Before Shade could reach his destination however, he saw several police lined up in some alley quite far into the distance. Let's take a closer look shall we? Shade pulled out his sniper rifle and looked through the scope at the crime scene. It seemed some killer named Fear killed some people. A local murderer is on the loose eh? Maybe I can use this to my advantage. But before he continued off to his destination, he noticed several supes investigating the area. Shade aimed his rifle towards the supes, contemplating if he should pull the trigger. Not worth it, maybe somebody will pay me to kill these supes one day, better to kill for money than kill for free.

 

Shade slipped his rifle back into his back holster and continued to his target.

Orangegrove shook his hand "Good to know" he walked over to the crime scene and looked around "Tell me about these crime scenes" Auroras father who was the lead detective walked over "Well, this is a standard Fear killing, victims killed by a combination of self inflicted injuries and heavy slash wounds, we think a machete. the blood on the wall we think is written by the assailant dipping his hands in the blood of the victim and writing it with his hands, but theres no finger prints, so we assume he wears gloves. We do know that whoever this is, they are a powerful psychic, every psychic weve brought to any of his crime scenes wind up experiencing terrifing visions and experience nightmares for several days after. It puzzles us that there is no blood trail or shoe prints, all the blood is in a localized area and any trail stops dead after about 10ft from the crime scene"

Sound Wave came across a jewelry store, he chuckled to him self as he turned a knob on his sound gun and then blasted the windows, powdering the glass, he then jumped in

Aurora arrives at home and desides to check the mail. She hopes her acceptance letter is in today. She had passed the netrance exam three weeks ago and still hasn't recieved her acceptance letter. She is starting to wander if she missed a step. She did everything required for her acceptance into the special ops portion of the academy. She also check her e-mail to see if it was sent via e-mail.

"Certainly sounds like a metahuman. They've become a real problem nowadays." Manhattan said in slight distaste. He didn't want his personal feelings on these people known just yet. The time for that would come later. For now, this "Fear" person would suit his needs nicely. "This proves what I've been thinking for a while. These Metas need to be controlled somehow."

Green had been watching them. "He wants to control the metas?" He started thinking. "He's gonna get rid of the metas...but why? What purpose could this serve?" Green knew this would only end badly. "I have to get home." He sheathed his sword and ran from rooftops back to his house quietly. When he got home he gently put his sword on the couch and took off the bandana. "This is going to escalate quickly and I don't like it." He looked at the sword then to his laptop. "Who is this 'Manhattan'?" He searched him.

"E-corp." He wrote it down and looked at his notepad. "Pier 12 @ 12." He set the alarm on his watch and walked out. "I need a soda." He said as he left his apartment to go to the liquor store.

Tempest heard a disturbance and looked down to see a attempted robbery by some random meta. "And here I thought my day would be boring." He growled as he dove straight down and landed with grace. The dragon then slowly approached the store, looking for an opportunity to strike. Electricity crackled and arced between the spikes on his back and his pupils turned to slits.

It turns out the cul-de-sac False Shade was heading to wasn't far from the crime scene. The target was supposed to meeting his fellow gang members shortly in his backyard. The backyard was visible from Shade's current position and he readied himself to take on some street punks. Now how would be able to make this seem like this Fear person's handiwork? Guns are definitely out of the picture since it looked like slash marks on those victims. Time to use my trusty knife for this. And I don't want any of my blood mixing up with the evidence, so a surprise assault should work in my favor. Luckily I have smoke grenades on hand. And to finish it off, I will need to paint the word FEAR on a wall with some victim's blood. Easy enough.

 

The gang members started to arrive, it looked like at least twenty were going to meet with his intended target. "The more the merrier," Shade muttered to himself as a smirk appeared under his mask. "Maybe I can get paid more if I take out the entire gang. I'm sure he won't mind."

@, Louise looked up when she heard herself being addressed by a stranger. "Oh, no-one in particular," she replied casually. This was how she usually replied whenever someone asked that question. She looked over the stranger, sensing that he was a meta like herself, but nothing else. This at least meant that Louise wasn't about to pick a fight. Cuz of the treatment she'd had while growing up from normal humans, Louise hated them. This was why she went on waging a single woman war against them, out of revenge.

At the Liquor store, the minor villain Heat Wave, a friend of Sound Wave, Heat Wave wore a red motorcycle helmet, he wore a heavy leather jacket and fingerless gloves, though his fingers looked charred, he wore black jeans and combat boots. on the back of the jacket was a flaming skull embroidered,  he had minor powers of flame. he walked up to the liquor store "he he...'bout to get my self a drink" his fingers lit up

Sound Wave looked over "Oh my your a big one..." he aimed his sound gun and fired, high pitched synths blasted Tempest in an attempt to stun him

The gang members were hanging out with eachother, it appeared to be some sort of cook out, there was a grill in one of the yards, however they were still armed, a few stood around holding mini uzis

Green saw Heat Wave's fingers glow. "The one time I don't have my sword is one of the rare instances where I might need it. Fine. Don't look suspicious just walk." He thought as he walked into the store. "Dammit I dont have anything to cover my face either." He looked around and planned for the inevitable. A fire extinguisher, drinks at the back, civilians outside. "Good plan." He thought. He grabbed a hard candy and moved to the side of the building opposite to the fire extinguisher.

Tempest shook his head, clearly annoyed by the sound. His vision then became blurred as his pupils turned to slits, only adding to his confusion. " No Stay in control." He thought to himself. The dragon then gave a low roar as he charged at Sound Wave, hoping to pin him with his weight.

Aurora jumps up and down, "Yes! Yes! Yes! I have been accepted."

 

She rushes, with a print out of her acceptance letter, downstairs. "Mother, I got accepted into the academy." Aurora can finally start helping her father out with his cases. She can't wait to start her classes and training.

"No real connection I assure you." Manhattan stated with all the practiced charisma that businessmen like him ate known for. "I just want to help protect my home from threats like these. Something I'm sure you can understand. These Metahumans are dangerous people. If anything this Fear character proves my point."

Shade surveyed the targets. "A few mini uzis? Piece of cake! Why I bet I could kill every one of those guys with one arm tied around my back."  It seemed someone decided to get party drugs out and a few were handed out to the guests. They are just making this too easy!

 

There were a few routes that led to the backyard where his targets began to party. One would be through the neighboring backyard and over the fence. But that is boring, let's go with the more interesting entry point, the front door. With that, False Shade descended from his vantage point and walked right up to the gangster's home. He had his hand behind his back with a silenced pistol in hand.

 

"Hey, buddies! Raging party huh? Can I come in? I just love parties!" Shade said to the guards up front.

Neri sighed and went forward looking at them 'should i interrupt them abit?' he thought as he released a very high sound pitch from his entire body which caused heavy headaches worse than migraines but not enough to drive a human or metahuman wild this noise was 'heard' for about 20 meters from him and affected several humans, those at the field and outside it. He released it for a tiny space of four seconds before lowering down the pitch released from his body to a lowly buzz to save energy.

 

(sounds can do wonderful things... Wish i could produce headaches to other people too.)

Heat Wave walked into the liquor store  walked up to the cash register "I demand to take whatever I want for free" he streched his arm towards the counter and opened his hand, a hole started melting through the counter to the horror of the clerk "g-go ahead..."

Sound Wave dropped to the ground in pain "AAHHH...m-my sound gun cant be malfunctioning..."

Her mother smiled "thats wonderful! make sure to tell your father when he gets home, im sure he will be just as happy!"

Tempest pinned Sound Wave to the ground with his feet and basically roared in his face as electricity sparked in his mouth. The human inside, though, was still trying to fight the instincts that came with such a bestial transformation. "I am in control." He thought to himself. Tempest then glared down at the criminal underneath him.

Neri sighed at the scene 'This guy cant even control his own power... Why even try and act like a hero' after insulting the dragon power person infront of him in his head he walked forward and instantly went into max speed crashing into the behemoth infront of him increasing the force power he would have by creating strong waves of sound.

 

After he used this he stopped moving except for his mouth for a few seconds giving all sorts of openings.

 

(His max speed is the speed of sound... Quite explainable, no?)

Tempest was flung into a wall and growled as he stood back up, shaking his head. The dragon then seemed to calm down as the noise in his head subsided. "Well, that was annoying." He thought to himself as he glanced at Neri. Tempest then turned his attention back to Sound Wave.

"Seems like I'm dealing with an idiot. He didn't demand money, but instead free stuff." Green sized him up. "Yeah I can take that. Now's a good time." He threw the hard candy against the fire extinguisher causing the candy to explode into a million pieces and make a huge noise. When Heat Wave was distracted he crouched down and snuck quietly in the aisle next to him. "Now I wait." He thought to himself.

"You have no idea." Manhattan said, chuckling to himself. "But that's a story for another time. Right now, there's a maniac to catch. Here's my card if you need anything." He then gave a business card to both Orangegrove and Aurora's father before taking his leave.

 

He picked up a cell phone and dialed a number once he was in his car. "Put the word out. I need guys for a job, the illegal kind. Give them the number to the burner phone." He hung up and the driver took him back to his building.

False shade laughed upon hearing the guards' words. "You guys can't be any more stereotypical huh? Homie, I ain't no homie to you. Oh I almost forgot, I have an invitation to this party of yours right here."

 

Before the inexperienced guards could react, Shade whipped his hidden hand around and put one bullet in each of their skulls with his gun aimed sideways. "You know, the best way to combat a stereotype is to kill them with another." Shade walked over to a couple of uzis and picked them up. Before he continued, he put some extra bullets from his pistol into each of the guards, to make it look like automatic fire. 

 

Shade's cell phone began to sound as he was finishing off his extra bullet holes. He pulled out his phone to see a new contract was up. "Nice, looks pretty interesting. The illegal part takes the cake, I just love illegal contracts."

 

Shade holstered one of the uzis and dialed the number on the contract.

"Um, hello? It seems you are looking for some help with something. I'm the man for the job!" Shade continued walking into the house, with the silenced pistol at the ready in his free hand.

"Stay on the line." A female voice said before a whirring started in Shade's ears. After a few seconds, the whirring stopped and the female voice started again. "The line is secure...yes sir, i'm putting him through. My boss would like to speak with you." She said as she transferred him over to Manhattan's burner phone. "So you're the one for the job huh?" Shade heard Manhattan's voice over the line.
