I almost don't feel like a large enough fan to make this thread, but no one else did.

 

Some people on the Count to a Million thread posted songs by the Foo Fighters and got me hooked.

I think they're a great band.

Count me in & I just recently bought a Foo Fighters car decal for my car. My favorite album by them is def. There's Nothing Left to Lose. I really respect this band and hope to see them live someday.

I think a lot of people know how much I love them My favourite album is The Colour and the Shape, followed closely by Wasting Light.

 

Dave Grohl is one of the greatest musicians and personalities in music, I have so much respect for him and the band I was gutted when they cancelled their Wembley shows recently because I was going, but I really hope to see them live soon enough

It's interesting how many Foo song titles can fit into normal sentences.

At first, I didn't think much of them; just another track on Rockband/Guitar Hero.

Then came the time I got into playing the real guitar, and I was really taken by surprise when I played Everlong on Rocksmith.

Playing it on guitar was FAR from just playing it on GH/RB, and it ended up being the first song in the few years I had been playing guitar that I could play by heart, without tabs. I even picked up some of the lyrics, and I'm partially lyrically deaf (I can't learn lyrics by hearing them for the heck of it)

I've seen their live show back at Brisbane in February this year, they were so awesome!

I also were at their first concert on their current tour: The next concert was when Dave broke his leg, so I kinda feel lucky to have actually gotten to see them, but also very sorry for those who couldn't get to see them... Here's a few pics from it~

 

 

 

It was quite an experience... I mean holy POOP I've never been so nervoucited from being close to a person... Except from the first time I met my girlfriend, of course~

But it was a huge moment for me... For the first time in my life, I was physically this close to someone I actually looked up to!

@@Zhooves Wow dude, I am SO jelly That must have been amazing to be that close to the band, I would give anything to be able to do that. I was one of those who missed out because be broke his leg, but to be honest I would rather see Dave up and running around rather than him sitting in a chair

Also, not too long after I took that picture, he stood right across from us. Someone behind me and my brother, who stood next to each other, reached in between us, stretching out his arm as he squeezed in between us. Dave flung him a kiss and threw him a pick, which he dropped onto the ground. I helped looking for it - he seemed a bit desperate. My sister then later on found it and picked it up and gave it to the guy - she got a big hug from him (she later on admitted she thought it had been his all along, and that he had dropped it), before he turned around, cried "A DAVE GROHL PICK!" before he started crying... T'was a great day for the man.

Foo fighters are awesome I thinks all that needs to be said. Actually did you know that Dave was always interested in aliens as a kid. And still is now, but during WW2 "Foo fighters" was a word used by pilots to describe a UFO or mysterious aircraft.

That reminds me of a funny bit from  an interview I saw on YouTube with Dave...

He was talking about a time when he was playing that exact song in Germany, and everyone there sung along like "Vhen the veels come down...".

He also commented that he thought the song (at the time) was bad, and that if the audience somehow liked it, they were playing in Germany~
