gaming Do you find it fair that Pokemon Gen 1 moves exist, but aren't compatible?

Do you guys find it fair that gen 1 moves still exist in gen 6, but aren't compatible on certain Pokemon that were able to use certain Gen 1 moves in past generations? Like Clefairy knowing Tri Attack in G1, or Charizard knowing Mega Punch or Mega kick, but not being compatible with the moves in any other generations, though the moves still exist.

They probably changed them up for a reason.

I'm well aware of that

However, I just don't find it fair that even in Gen 4, gym Leader Whitney owns a Clefairy with a move that it only knows in Gen 1, and I can't get a Clefairy in the wild and have it know that move

We are talking about the same game that didn't allowed Charizard to learn Fly.

Things were weird back then, but I honestly miss Clefable!Tri-Attack. That was just killer.

don't even get me started on Charizard not knowing Fly

Or, on the topic of HM's, the absolute BS that the people who had Fly or Surf Pikachu had no way of transferring them to any other game.

Pokemon is notorious for allowing npcs to "cheat" in various ways, but most of them are subtle enough that they're not noticed without close inspection.

On the topic of different gens of moves, all the moves from previous gens are included for compatability reasons, but the pokemon themselves might have different movesets for balance, logic, or "bugfixing" reasons.
