The world of Horror suffered a great loss tonight as legendary director Wes Craven (Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream) passed away at age 76.

This is crazy. Had no idea he was in such bad medical condition. I also just realized that he directed the first Hills Have Eyes and Scream. Quite the horror visionary. It is a shame...he was great at what he did though and those movies will live on.

Wow, this is such a terrible loss. The world of film, specifically horror films, has lost a legend tonight. He was among some of my favorite horror/suspense directors along with Carpenter and Hitchcock. May he forever rest in peace (and haunt our dreams).

I'm not even a horror fan, but as a film buff, I am saddened by the loss of a great creator. May God send Jack Skellington himself to usher Mr. Craven through the gates for all the fun scares he brought to the world.

It's sad when a creative genius passes. At least he left behind his body of work to scare and entertain us.

Oh man, this loss hit me real hard. Craven was truly a master of horror, and we wouldn't have Freddy Krueger or Ghostface without him. May he rest in peace, and a big thanks for revolutionizing the horror genre.

Another legend has passed away. The man that gave us the classic Nightmare on Elm Street movies, with one of the greatest movie villains of all time.
