going to cons with family

I don't have a habit of taking family members with me to MLP cons. I've always gone by myself or with friends. Have any of you taken family members along? Was it by choice? Does it improve the situation or interfere?

 

I'm not sure what to think about something like that myself. Pony cons for me are like a totally different place where I don't have to think about family too much, you know?

 

Anyway, you thoughts....

I don't take my parents but I'll bring some friends along to the ones i go to.
