So, with scaremaster shown, we know that the nightmare star image wasn't just a costume for halloween. That ticks off one more way for them to logically fit in Nightmare star into this season, with it looking like the finale is the only logical place left for her to show up.

 

 

Do you think Nightmare star is actually going to occur in the show, or do you think the Trading card game is now making cards that aren't canon and just based on stuff fans talk about?

And if you think nightmare star is still going to happen, do you think it'll be in the finale then? How big do you think nightmare star will be as an event when it occurs? (S4 finale big in changing status quo and changing things even, or back to normal at the end)

I wonder if Starlight Glimmer will be involved with Nightmare Star if it happens.

I'm thinking only in a incidental way. Specifically, I think starlight will cause the mane six to never gain their cutie marks and become friends, but all OTHER evil in the episode is due to the fallout of the events and have nothing to do with her.

 

For example, I expect Celestia is forced to turn to dark magic to stop Luna, leading to her corruption. While it was implied that Celestia had absolute faith that twilight would end up rekindling the element of magic in the first 2 episodes of the show, if she never had twilight as a protege, she would have known she was on her own and been forced to take drastic actions.

Honestly though, if they start giving multiple alicorn characters nightmare forms they should sit down and try and do some codifying of what alicorns are and how nightmare forms relate to them, as it would seem to not be specific to Luna but a danger that all alicorns have if so.
