After leaving the arena,... Falza still needs a place to stay, or he could just roam around for a while before doing that.
He sits right near a cafe just blocks away, thinking what else he wanted or must work on. More training sounds nice,...
exploring perhaps?

Rhetoric felt rather distant from this new mare, and as he gave her, her space he paced around awkwardly "If... if's there anyway I can help... unfortunately I can't really abide by a revenge quest... against a certain Princess. I.. just can't I'm sorry

But I hope your above that, surely your quest for equality trumps such petty squabbles" he was treading on dangerous ground, he was fully aware that this could actually insult her. he just hoped the seeds of revenge weren't too far deep

Starlight froze for a moment to recollect her thoughts and process what Rhetoric had said.

He was right; getting revenge outright would be far too risky, and she liked to think she was indeed above petty squabbling. She took another deep breath.

"No, you're right," She admitted, and a ghost of a smirk crossed her muzzle, "I have better things in mind anyway."

Blueblood looked exasperated like he was the Princess himself  "Oh poor Auntie... the delimas here alone are a hassle . Say,,, if you truly are as smart as twilight... why aren't you in a more... influential position?"

Stonewall gave a concealed puzzled expression. Prince Blueblood was awfully interested in this pony...

Indus's ear twitched at the question, a flicker of anger sparking within him. Had it not for the Prince removing the condescending tone in his voice, he would have taken it as a challenge.

"I could have been," He retorted quietly, his amber eyes glaring aside at nothing for a moment, then back to Blueblood, "but...one can't always get what one wants."

Seeing that things had passed, for now, Rhetoric finally handed her, her tea "here... sorry for the wait"

"I would ask what exactly those things in mind were. But we have only known each other for about..." he looked at a clock "maybe a few hours? So I'll start simply, how can I help, oh and when we get around to it, theres a pony I want you to meet."

Both of the ponies that he was speaking to could actually relate to that, for very different reasons of course

"Hmmm, no. but. If we had what we wanted, could we ever get started, on our path destined to be?"

Stonewall sighed then coughed to cover it up, Another one of Bluebloods "poetic": interludes

"Heroes, and kings, among other things, could our future be

but without our desires there are no lit fires  beneath our souls to burn,,,"

there was always the awkward silence when the Prince did this... always and oddly enough sometimes he didn't even act like it happened at all

"So you wanted to see the Princess yes?"

Starlight took the tea in her magic, giving it a sip. "Thank you...this tea is good."

She blinked with curiosity at his intentions, and was curious to learn more.

"Well, how exactly could you help me?" She asked, "And, who is this pony?"

Indus simply looked at Blueblood as he recited some kind of poetry. It certainly wasn't the best one he'd ever read, and he'd read more than a few, but for an improvisation, he had to admit it wasn't awful.

He cleared his throat and answered, "Yes, Princess Celestia, if it's possible. If not, then...I will settle for Twilight." He added with a hint of venom in his voice.

However for starters, your welcome to use my abode for base of operations , and considering I've come into a bit of money, I would gladly supply you with funds if you needed them. She couldn't explain it, but Jade could somehow sense where the sword piece was laying. Like she had some kind of spiritual connection to it.

However, what she needed to know was not where the shard was, but where Chisel was, and how to damage him.

Her instincts kicked in as she felt her opponent grip onto her leg, and she went for a rolling kick to loosen his grip and fly back up out of reach.

(Long, busy weekend)

Chisel let go of her leg and instead readied himself to catch the leg she was kicking with. Knowing where her leg was, he was able to hook onto it and reverse it's momentum to trip her onto the stone ground. She felt that he was still wearing his saddle bag from before. Perhaps that could be used somehow.

Starlight blinked, not expecting such a level of generosity from somepony she just met a few hours ago. He was really okay with her using his home as a base?

"Wow...thank you," She muttered, swallowing, and then tilted her head, "Trixie Lulamoon? Isn't she the performer?"

At this answer Blueblood eyed him suspiciously. He wasn't new to  random ponies wanting to see his Aunt for... underhoofed purposes, in fact unbeknownst to him, a lot of those same ponies just skipped Celestia and found him instead "What do you want to see my Aunt for?...."

Indus raised an eyebrow, internally questioning Blueblood's scepticism, but quickly assumed it was his tone of voice.

"Ahem," he began, "Oh, your aunt is not who my anger is pointed at, I can assure you. She's simply my employer, and I wished to discuss a few things with her."

(It's cool XD)

Jade swore internally as she was tripped onto the stone floor, making her stumble unsteadily. She had felt Chisel's saddlebag brush against her during the collision.

The wooden hilt from the sword was still in her mouth as well.

She wondered if she could combine the two...

She waited for Chisel to get close, then hopefully she would duck and weave any attack he planned and use the hilt to grip the saddlebag and get it for herself.

If Chisel could use these gadgets, why not herself?

"Wow, that's pretty neat!" Cloud said, nodding with a wide grin, "Sounds like we have something in common then!"

She craned her head down, taking a look at the sword. "Nice sword! Where'd you get it?"

She tilted her head, then nodded. "Yeah, I heard she's here. Why d'you ask?"

"Back where I lived she was sort of a local legend. The fact that she had performed a Sonic Rainboom at such a young age is not really easy to ignore, especially by the town that she was born in."

Lightning looked back at his sword. "Oh this? This is my greatest treasure. I got it as a gift from my grandpa. He said that he purchased it at a shop that specializes in magical objects. For some reason, nopony could use it, nopony could even pull it out of its scabbard. Nopony, that is, until my grandpa gave it to me."

Lightning looked back up. "My dad used to tell me that sometimes weapons choose their master, and in this case I suppose he was absolutely right. This sword is very precious to me."

Cloud Chaser tried her best not to snort and roll her eyes at Lightning's comment. Instead, she put on a smile. "I know, I'm from Cloudsdale too!"

She was, however, very interested in the sword, and listened close to his story.

"Wow, that's so cool!" She chirped, wings fluttering excitedly, "It's like that old legend in Trottingham with the sword in the big rock!"

No, it couldn't be. That was too much of a coincidence.

As those who had gathered around Lorec cheered at this otherworldly reunion, Galtos would only sit back and watch the festivities from afar while sitting on the ground. This wasn't his moment. It was Tyra and Lorec's and even the Stormbringer knew when to step out of the spotlight to allow another their fame.

Some of the crowd who found themselves on the outskirts of the gathering had turned to see Tyra approaching them. As she did so, The minotaurs would put a fist to their chests and and beat once upon their breasts; A Saduarian salute of respect. The Saddle Arabians would give a single, deep nod. And as both took these actions, they began to part for her, allowing her to pass. One by one, those who were in the outermost layer would gain the attention of their fellows, and call upon them to do the same.

Like a blade that was being dragged through a puddle of water, the entirety of the group joined in the bow, allowing a path to Lorec and his family to be made. Some of the whispers from the crowds could faintly be heard.

"It's her... Shes the one!"

"This one beat Lorec? A tad on the short side, if you ask me."

"Don't judge a warrior by their size. I bet she could cleave you in half without a second thought."

"She'd make a fine Golden Horn, if I do say so, m'self."

And with all of this occurring, Galtos himself expected one more to join the fray, very soon.

In this world, is the destiny of mankind controlled by some transcendental entity or law? Is it like the hand of God, hovering above? At least it is true, that man has no control... Even over his own will.

Vera enjoyed the ride upon Kazas' back as she looked around for a place to eat that served snake. "Hm..." she hummed as she looked at the map, "Two blocks, Kazas. There's a place that serves pony and griffon food. But it's more of a fast-food type place. You interested?"

"Please come back safely, Twilight." Cadence looked up at Twilight and flashed another hopeful smile at her. Twilight flashed one back, but it quickly fell back as Cadence fell back in her bed with a rush of air. Twilight exhaled deeply.

"I will." She began to walk out of the door, flagged by Sunset Shimmer, and Trixie, who had stayed for an extra moment to watch Cadence before leaving.

"So, where do we start? Its a big forest, and whoever's out there has to be moving around. We don't have a lot of time." Sunset Shimmer looked towards Twilight with interest as they left the front doors of the hospital, and the alicorn looked back at her with a knowing stare.

"Actually, we do. And we don't even need to comb the forest searching for them. Because they're coming to us."

@@Fractured,

Ice was standing on a rock, looking dubiously into the night as he heard what Twilight was saying. It's not that he didn't believe in her plans, it's simply that he believed in having a fallback plan, and thought to himself, "Ugh...why do you always have to act as if you know every damn thing, Twilight? Hm. Typical." He read his book some more, and closed it. He gave a look to Twilight, "So you're sayin ya have a plan, eh?"

He jumped off the rock, down to the rest of them, still looking dubiously bored by Twilight's words, "Hm. Sounds great. But ya know...just in case....I say we come up with plans as well. I'm not doubting you, Twilight. I'm just saying we should all be prepared in case one plan goes to Tartarus and dies pitifully. Not saying yours will. Just, spitballing." He looked up to the town's clocktower, "It's late, and Shining Armor is still out there too. I'll be damned if I don't contribute somehow."

He turned his head back to the group, "We're wasting time standing here. Let's get our butts moving before they get away altogether. Let's stated moving towards the forest, and you can tell us your plan on the way," he said with an air of complete seriousness as he began walking ahead of them in the direction of the forest, expecting them to follow. Considering the forest wasn't that far, they should reach it in a reasonable timeframe.

She smiled and put a hoof over her heart, giving her head a sharp bow. A similar sign of respect from Trotstheim and the Shatterhoof Clan.

She watched as the minotaurs began to clear a path for her, and she followed along it. As she walked by, she could overhear the whispers amongst her peers as they watched her.

Hearing so much praise and respect from these mighty warriors from days passed caused her pride to swell up in her chest. Her knees and chin raised into a proud warrior's strut. Not to try and show off, but to prove a little bit more that she was worthy of this attention.

She blinked at Rhetoric, and gave an honest shrug. "Tell me anything you like. I'm curious about you as a whole."

Yuki smiled at the two, "Oh, thank you both. I'm so happy to know my son has been doing well on his own. It makes me so proud." She wiped away another tear, and chuckled, "But enough about me. I would like to know more about you, Zenru."

She gazed with fascination, "My son tells me you're of a family of great honor, correct?"

yrel blinked, and kinda stood straighter. "the swiftwing family!" she said proudly.

"right." zenru remarked, "the swiftwing family. dating all the way back to one of the royals of the pegasi tribe. the longest line of swordsponies, and considered by most to be the best."

he smiled. "ice was right to tell you a 'family of great honor'."

The figure, Xiang, nodded back at Violet before walking on, thinking about the match.

This Violet...she radiated a similar presence she had felt on him. That of a master.

The kirin, or dragon pony, dipped into an alleyway and climbed back up onto the rooftops, checking the sights and seeing of he could spot the dojo.

violet's dojo wasnt far off. it was a sure eye-catcher.

meanwhile, the mare herself had walked back to ronin's house...where caliber was still reading.

she blinked. this was the longest time she's seen him, well, DO something without getting bored since he discovered devil sticks.

'...he must really wanna get strong.' violet thought, coming to the realization. 'come to think of it, he's never told me why--'

"ah, violet, your back!" ronin interrupted her thoughts, "ill take these, and start cooking."

"I always thought that, too! I wondered at first if this could be the same one.  I haven't figured anything out though so far...most ponies in Trottingham believe that legend is just, well, a legend.  I still don't know where it came from yet.  I do know, though, that it has gotten my out of some very tough situations before.  I trust it."

Lightning looked up and said,"It's like another part of myself.  Almost like it's alive..."

@@P-Jay,

Yuki nodded in awe. The only other families she knew that were of note were her own, and Tyra's, "That's a big honor. I'm grateful to have met someone like you. It's interesting how pegasi became so good with swords over the years. I'd love to know more about them."

She smiled as she spoke again, "It's interesting. My family is the Ice Clan. One of the many elemental clans of thousands of years ago. We always valued love, peace, and forgiveness. Were the Swiftwing any similar?"

"I understand," Starlight nodded, taking another sip of tea, "I'm comfortable having a sit down a bit longer, myself."   She blinked at Rhetoric, and gave an honest shrug. "Tell me anything you like. I'm curious about you as a whole."

Rhetoric blinked and blinked again "Oh.... anything?... um ok..." he thought for almost a minute

'Well theres not much to tell, I grew up on a farm, went to study with some "mentors" for a while, they asked me to leave, I 've been wandering ever since, been avoiding ponyville like the plague, may have tried to over throw Manehatten and now can on longer go there... Um I like potatoes..." he didn't know what else to say, he didn't feel like he was all that interesting, he was just sort of there, commenting on things, trying to change Equestria.

Indus met Blueblood's cold threat with an indifferent stare, almost looking unimpressed. However, it was good to see the Prince finally starting to show real authority. Perhaps this meeting would not be such an annoyance after all.   "I'm not one for pranks, Prince," He assured the white unicorn, "I can assure you, I have important matters with your aunt. She will recognise me, not to worry."

Whatever fury Blueblood had mustered in his eyes, dissipated. "We shall see, in any case, Welcome aboard, help yourself to the refreshments." in the carriage evidence of blueblood's spoiled royal-hood could be seen. all manner of food and drink was sprawled for the tow occupants "Only the finest of course"

@@Fractured,

Eclipse was a bit shocked as Luna hugged him; slowly he raised his front legs and returned the hug. Tears began welling up his eye; a sensation Eclipse hadn’t felt for the longest of time. He meekly uttered the words; “Thank you Princess…”

Memories came flooding back to Eclipse; the early days of youth. When he had been abandoned, all alone after Discord’s reign of tyranny over Equestria. He had been taken in by the princesses. He had spent nights upon nights training under her but even through the grueling training sessions, he was happy.

He remember the dread he felt when Celestia and Luna left to fight King Sombra. The anger he felt towards Celestia and the citizens of Equestria as they neglected Luna; and the despair he felt the moment he realized the princess had been taken away from him.

Eclipse let out a short chuckle before admitting, “I wish things could back to the way they were before… long nights reading under candlelight, fending off the beasts of the night together. The fun nights we spend in the castle…”

“...I-I don’t want to let go…”

Eclipse’s form began to lose the last of it’s stability; it slipped out of Luna’s grasp as Eclipse began to fade into the shadows. Before he left completely; he spoke one last time

“...I wish I could go back… to The Castle.”

...And then Luna was alone...

@@Fractured,

“Very well, but you should know I’m not a very patient dragon.” Ash replied; nearly tripping over as he stepped into a small hole in the ground. Some of the boxes off the top of his giant mountain of junk came falling off and clattering on the ground. He yelled out in anger, “Ragh! By the Inferno of Tiamat! Stupid… boxes...”

Ash set the pile down and started grumpily picking up the fallen boxes and putting them back on the pile...

"ah, violet, your back!" ronin interrupted her thoughts, "ill take these, and start cooking."

Xiang quickly recognised the dojo after a while of sprinting across the rooftops of the city. In the dark, he could still make it out clearly, and a grin crossed his old muzzle.

Looks like someone plucked it from home and stuck it here, he commented internally, how quaint.

He sat on the rooftop across from the building and got into a meditative position. He would await his opponent in a vigil.

Cloud smirked with interest at the sword, starting to wonder where she might get herself one. It'd look pretty cool on her own back.

"Alive?" She asked, craning her neck closer to it, "Why do you say that?"

Rhetoric blinked and blinked again "Oh.... anything?... um ok..." he thought for almost a minute

"Wait, wait," Starlight held up a hoof to signify him to pause, "You tried to take over Manehattan?"

She wasn't sure of Rhetoric caught it or not, but his comment on potatoes got a soft well-meaning snicker out of her.

Indus hesitated for a few moments, before gingerly climbing into the carriage. It was indeed lavishly furbished, with some high-class refreshments set up for long, or probably small journeys.

"Thank you," He nodded solemnly, pouring himself a glass of wine. He figured it would be easier to accept the offer of hospitality than risk offending him.

Rain Shadow had been waiting patiently for Amber Dust to finished. When she was finally done, she looked up and smiled brilliantly at her.   "Looks like your aim's getting a lot better already. Um..." Rain Shadow looked around, she was briefly unsure of herself. "I'm not exactly sure what else. You said you were going out on a trip to the arctic? Did you need something in particular?"

Amber nodded.

"I'd like to learn how to fight physically, too. Just in case," Amber added.

"I was hesitant to go to the arena though, since I'm inexperienced as it is." She paused a moment, remembering the mare's earlier words. She wasn't too skilled in hoof-to-hoof combat, either. Or at least that's what she recalled.

"...I don't suppose we could train against each other?" Amber asked, a tad doubtfully.

"Wait, wait," Starlight held up a hoof to signify him to pause, "You tried to take over Manehattan?"   She wasn't sure of Rhetoric caught it or not, but his comment on potatoes got a soft well-meaning snicker out of her.

He blushed at her snicker, for an instant flashing back to his old school room in front of the class for show and tell, with only an old potato.

'Ahem yes. I did. I didn't get very far, and after everyone who was thinking about following was convinced otherwise, I may have blustered more then I should have... I could have had it... if I was patient, and maybe a bit more moderate. Or kept my future polices on a down low," he sighed "I don't know, I failed and was run out of town, so yes I tried.

It was a wild dream, that should perhaps die...but never will." he laughed sadly

The carriage bounced lightly on the stone road "  So how is the school doing?... As I recall, they told me that their mail room was in disarray... Last time I sent a set of my poems and an offer as an arts tutor... Seems to happen often over there..." he was on the verge of suspicion. But surely they wouldn't ignore him, a royal personage after all?

____

Chrysalis heart was heavy as she was greeted by her Changelings. Or perhaps a better word would be confronted.

Baring her way into the hide away, she frowned "What is this meaning of this! Let me pass my Changelings!"

A snort was heard, coming forth pushing forward. An Older looking changeling with long fangs "They aren't your Changelings any more Chrysalis. We are done with you and your pathetic, pony kissing ways. You have failed, and we are done!" Some cheers were heard, some awkward discerning voices, and even a boo.

"Slugtongue.... So you have replaced me...well am I not allowed among my kind?" she struggled to not, pounce on the snivilng cur in front of her, but she had to remain composed. She would accept this with dignity

The changeling known as Slugtongue just snorted again "you have chosen ponies as your kind Chrysalis. We here by cast you out, you are welcome among us no more!"

Outcasted...no...no... death would have been better... but this... "I...see..."

"GO, be gone! We are done with you!" and without another word, as a mass the Changelings present turned their backs and walked away, some looked back, but for only a second.

Alone, she broke down, sobbing loudly. "My changelings.... I'm sorry... i'm so so so sorry"
