Dreambiscuit 10,092 June 3, 2019 Share June 3, 2019 It was the chicken first and the egg second. An egg is part of reproduction and a chicken is a product without the ‘re’ prefix. In order to re-produce you need a mother chicken to lay the egg. There’s a big difference between creation and re-creation.

EpicEnergy 23,224 September 24, 2023 Share September 24, 2023 Like how far back we talking about though? Like as in what existed before the other? I would say chicken came first. *totally not up to any shenanigans*

Envy 6,192 September 24, 2023 Share September 24, 2023 From my understanding this question actually isn't too hard... Until you get into understanding the boundaries of species. Simplistically, there was a male and female of a species that would look identical to a chicken to our eyes but is oh-so-slightly different and the egg that the female lays would hatch the first species that is fully a chicken, so to speak. So, the egg came first. There can't be any other way. Species and individual creatures don't just spawn out of nowhere, and there's no way that the creature that preceded the evolution to the chicken would be different enough that it wouldn't lay eggs, so the first chicken came from an egg. Simple. But what defines species is a very thin, strange line. I don't think we need to get into that for this question, though. 1 Everything needs more woodwind! Weren’t chickens invented first ? 1 Sig by Wolf, Handwriting by SparklingSwirls
