On Hiatus/Incomplete Fanfics You Wish Would Come Back?

I've been reading through a lot of fanfics lately. Especially the VinylXOctavia ones. Two of my favorites involving these characters are ObabScribbler's "Playing With My Heart" ( http://www.fimfiction.net/story/108466/playing-with-my-heart ) and "Misadventures in Music" ( http://www.fimfiction.net/story/108378/misadventures-in-music ) by VulpineHero1 (this story is actually the sequel to the equally brilliant "Music Makes The Heart" ( http://www.fimfiction.net/story/24719/music-makes-the-heart )).

 

Sadly neither of these well-written stories have been updated in at least a year. I'm afraid they'll never get finished! That being said, What fanfiction do you wish would come back? What fan made story do just HAVE to know the ending to?

 

I ask for two reasons: first, I'm hoping there are others who have read the above stories (or maybe even wrote them?) and may be as enthusiastic about them as I am; and second, I'm looking for suggestions for good fanfics!

I don't know if anyone here knows Peroth E's Growing Pains, but that was my introduction to good pony fics, way back when I still used FanFiction.net. It had a few pacing problems, and the occasional bout of spelling or grammatical errors (what I assume to be parts that were written late at night), but I was willing to overlook those for the astounding adventure narrative. When I found that it was on indefinite hiatus (later to be canceled), I couldn't bring myself to read the last three or four chapters. From what I heard in the comments, it stoped right before a big battle. I could praise it all night, but I will just say that if you like epic adventure stories, and don't mind an unresolved cliff-hanger then it's definetly worth a read. It broke my heart to see canceled, but I'm glad to have had the pleasure of experiencing it. I think I'll go before I start getting emotional over it. Again.

A Stranger Among Voices - A rewrite of the fanfic that sold me on HiE stories, where I originally didn't like the idea. Basic idea is that a girl is transported to Equestria for various reasons that don't get spoken of until later, gets captured by some less popular ponies and becomes traumatized, bonds with a strange choice of friend, and kinda warms back up to Equestria and finds her unique place in it all. Hasn't been updated in about a year now.

 

Diary of a Store Clerk - One of the most refreshing HiE stories I've read, where the human protagonist thrown into Equestria actually aspires to a peaceful, simple life rather than adventure and drama. Then the mane 6 plus another human who is the protagonist of some other massive adventure that the story would normally focus around comes into his life and ruins the simpleness he aspired to. Dang I wish this was still being updated; also been about a year now since I saw an update.

 

Step Up, Don't Suck - Awesome little second person story about a pony, a bowling competition, and a rather unique girl he has his eye on.

 

Undead Equestria - One of the bloodiest adventure stories I've read, that is just ceaselessly brutal on some points. At first it started out as one of those stories where seemingly any character could die (horribly), though as time went on plot armor seemed a little more visible--but compared to a lot of stories, it still managed to do well by putting weight behind dangerous situations. The author legitimately seemed to like killing off characters if it was realistic or set up to be a possibility. Sadly, I've basically talked to said author and heard from his own mouth it's not likely to continue. Last update was over a year ago.

 

Mort takes a Holiday - One of the better written stories on Fimfiction. Basically a mixture of awesome writing and interesting ideas that feel well executed. Story involves the grim reaper for ponykind, some questions of life/eternity/afterlife and such, and some form of friendship potentially forming between the main 6 (and princesses) and the surprisingly upbeat yet lonely grim reaper. Hasn't updated in over a year, and I kinda consider it dead.

Total Magic Pony Island.

I used to be a fan of Total Drama and this was a well written and interesting combination of MLP characters and the plot of Total Drama Island.

The End of Ponies - My friend told me about this one and I started reading it. It's amazing! I really wish the author didn't abandon it.
