gaming Legacy of the Void

It seems as though so many people are obsessing over Fallout 4 (I will be when I get it, but I have to wait until Christmas) but a lot of people seem to have forgotten that Starcraft 2's final expansion hit today. The long ongoing franchise will finally have its sequel come to a close today with the final bit of the Starcraft 2 trilogy making it to stores. Legacy of the Void will feature a whole new campaign, new multiplayer modes, extensive changes to multiplayer, new units, and of course the conclusion to the story of Starcraft 2.

Blizzard also has announced they will be releasing mission packs down the road to add additional content to the game, so while Legacy of the Void may be closing the main story, we'll still be getting new content down the road to hold us over until an eventual new expansion beyond Legacy of the Void or Starcraft 3.

I for one waited almost 11 years for Starcraft 2 itself and to think it's been almost 5 years since the Starcraft 2 trilogy began is astounding. I just got the collector's edition of the game in the mail today and you can see my unboxing below:

I am installing the game as we speak, but for those who have never gotten into Starcraft you can play the first few missions of the base game for free, and Legacy of the Void IS a standalone so if you are just trying to get into the multiplayer, you can get just this expansion without needing to buy Heart of the Swarm or Wings of Liberty. Personally though, I would just for the fantastic story.

Who else is getting/just got Legacy of the Void? I can't be the only one.

Finally someone speaks truth. I've knew about the release of this game for months, yet it seems that Fallout 4's release covered this game's release hard. Shameful, because SC deserves the attention that it should get.

I will be getting it in a few days. Some issues arised recently, so my first playthrough of it will have to wait, but I cannot wait to see how will the story end, and, of course, the multiplayer experience.

I won't post any spoilers but here are some of the major changes:

  • Campaign is split into 3 parts, a prologue, the main campaign and the epilogue.
  • Co-op missions now where you level up your commanders and such. I haven't tried that yet, but it looks fun.
  • Level cap for races has been raised from 35 to 50, effectively making the max level now 150.

  • 2 weeks later...

I play it, studies suggest sc2 is great for the brain, so I like it and it can be fun. Pvp is challenging at first and stressful but once you get the hang of it then losses are educational not stressful. I tried coop, archon when it was in the beta, arcade modes, custom games, games vs ai, and ranked. Didn't try the campaign yet.

I still need to work on my hotkeys half the time I dont use any, same with camera locations, but my knowledge is rather good since I saw lots of tutorials and gameplays.
