You swear to every deity you were just in it for the cash.
Times were tough, money was tight, and grave robbing paid good. That was all you needed to know. Hell, everybody was doing it these days. The "Normal, law-abiding citizen by day, fence-jumping, dirt-covered grave robber by night " shtick was becoming a lot more common than most people thought.

You'd be surprised how much someone would pay for the loot sitting next to some poor sod's decaying corpse.

But this? This was supposed to be the greatest hit of all time! They'd be talking about this for decades -- no! -- centuries! You'd practically fallen over at the sight of how much cash this prissy "philanthropist" was offering just to ransack some crusty old temple.

Just the money. Nothing more, nothing less.

Hello, and welcome to Grave Robbers At Large!
I don't want to waste a lot of time discussing the premise of the story, but there's a lot of ground to cover. Here are the basics:

Set about five centuries after the reign of the Royal Sisters, the land of Equestria has transformed into a futuristic, cyberpunk dystopia lead by a shadowy monarch known as The High Matron. With the empire crumbling, and all of Equestria's great cities falling into disrepair, a new form of lawlessness has been born. Corruption, murder, and chaos rule the streets, with the strong lording their power over the weak and the formation of dangerous roving gangs. Desperate to stay afloat in this constantly shifting environment, many have taken up one of the most dangerous, illegal, and life-threatening jobs born out of this new world.
Grave robbing.
Your character, as one of the very best of these desperate individuals, is sought out by a mysterious philanthropist who commissions you, as well as the other players, to excavate and scavenge a thousands of years old temple located far away from civilization. Now, with only your wits, a few worthy companions, and some old tech, your job is to navigate the temple, recover an ancient artifact, unravel a conspiracy, crack an ancient mystery left behind long ago, and return to Equestria before time runs out.
That is, if you can make it out alive.

Inspired in part by Repo! The Genetic Opera and a Creature Feature song sharing the name of this Roleplay, Grave Robbers At Large is a tale of horror, mystery, and adventure that I hope you all will enjoy being a part of.

The Rules:

  • Follow all MLP Forums rules, written and unwritten, spoken and unspoken. You will only get one warning.

  • Absolutely no godmodding

  • Absolutely no power playing

  • Absolutely no Mary Sues/Gary Stues

  • Any character is allowed as long as they are balanced. I reserve the right to deny certain characters.

  • But, as an add on to the above rule, stay within the MLP Universe. This means you cannot play as a human or any creature that would not be mentioned in the show.

  • Creativity is demanded, not requested.

  • This is a mature Roleplay. However, anything sexual/erotic/nsfw is absolutely under-no-circumstances allowed at all ever. Period. Some gore and mild language is permitted, but not in excess. Do not go overboard.

  • Be kind to your fellow roleplayers

  • Respect the DM and all other authorities on this Forum.

  • Humility. Feel it. Your character is not invincible. Do not constantly thrust your character under the spotlight. This is a collaboration, so work with your fellow players.

  • Be proactive. Contribute. If you have an idea, never be afraid to share. This Roleplay will depend heavily on player input. This story is yours to tell.

This sounds like a cool RP. I would like to join with my OC Hooligan, because I feel he would enjoy a little grave robbing.

 

Note: If the teleporting is to OP I can make it so he can only teleport 2 or 3 times in a row before tiering and he can't travel more then 1km in radius. If I need to make any other changes to him just let me know.

For an alternate history to fit the setting: The shifting needs of the guards was drastically changed. Crime was now the major concern of most countries and as such a majority of the Equestrian Guard was reassigned and assessed as a more Police Enforcement role.

 

With the Legion Recon unit now slowly phasing out it was inevitable that the herd of legionerres would disperse. With unemployment skyrocketing no jobs were suitable for this Guard Mare. Which brings her to grave robbery..

Nah, they're fine. As long as those potions don't do anything absolutely ridiculous or overpowered, you can use them.

For a little bit, just as we get a few world-building posts out of the way.

But once the players leave to begin exploring the temple, it will become officially closed. Because, at that point, it just wouldn't make sense for players to suddenly appear.
