Bayonetta in Smash 4 Discussion Thread

Reminds me that there are actually Rayman trophies in the games... super weird he's not a fighter with all that in there.

Ain't nothin' wrong with that now :please:

I mean, there's actually not a whole lot of sex appeal in Smash, but Bayonetta sure does add, er, something else being in there now I guess, hehe. ;p

It's a double prong no-no for me because I never took Nintendo as a company that cared to add sex appeal or capitalize on it being more of a family friendly gaming company in addition to that it's a character that isn't from Nintendo.

Pretty sure they added Bayonetta because fans wanted her, and not because of her sex appeal. Bayonetta may be a sexually appealing character, but both Bayonetta games are considered some of the best action games out there, and they're very well loved by Nintendo fans, and that's what Nintendo is capitalizing on

I have to say... Witch time looks really cool.

I also have to say I love how fancy they're getting with some of the characters mechanically. Well, I'm mostly thinking about Ryu when I say that ( which is also the most out there character to be added, I still can't get over that), but they do a nice job of making the characters feel really unique and paying homage to the games they come from originally.

Ryu kind of defeats the purpose of smash brothers for me (pick a direction, pick a button, that's all you need to do any move in the game... No quarter-circle forward, down, forward, diagonal, B to do a special move.... Except when Ryu is playing.... sure you could do each of his special moves normally, but nerfing the damage because you didn't use the classic directional input, really?)

But that's what I find the most impressive about how they handled Ryu! Surely enough, they could have just plopped Ryu in with no directional input special moves and called it a day but they went out of their way to make Ryu play like Ryu plays in Street Fighter. Maybe it's because I like doing those kinds of inputs for special moves, but I think it's really cool they retained the Street Fighter in Ryu.
