Why do people treat unicorns as master race? Are they right?

Earth Ponies are the real master race. Take away a unicorns horn or a Pegasus wings and what do you have? An Earth Pony. Other ponies rely on things like magic or flight. Earth Ponies do everything without those things. Earth Ponies don't need magic or flight.

Well only if you're a VERY powerful unicorn. And very FEW unicorns are that strong. Outside of basic spells like levitation and illumination, most unicorns only use spells related to their talents.

I think they're all equal at an everyday level, its just that unicorns have the potential to become really stupidly powerful, as shown through Starlight, Sunset, Twilight, Sombra, and Starswirl.

I'm not a fan of (some) unicorns, I feel like the magic is a bit to much and uncontrollable at times, here's an (overexhaturated) example "And why is that?" "Magic." "No, but wh..." "Magic." "Bu..." "Shhhhhhhhh.... Magic".

 

But meh, that's just me. It's something I've encountered with a few role play OC's.

Still thinking, have a lot on my mind, so have to ask.

People treat unicorns as master race, vastly superior to others. Why? Is this statement correct, or not?

Unicorn are the most overpowered base species of pony you can get. Their magic abilities can help them fly and stand on clouds like Pegasuses. Their farming is said not to taste as good but most people do action Roleplays anyway so that doesn't matter and unless you're talking about survival Island Roleplays where farming can come in handy, It just not a very useful trait for roleplaying. Even Slice of life Roleplays tend to start in a city/Town of some sort where farming isn't even involved. Now about the whole "well aren't Earth Ponies and Pegasuses faster and physically stronger" Yes! But unlike the show, spells almost always work in Roleplays as such everyone is able to be faster and physically stronger than both breeds.

 

Unicorn is just able to one up every base species on everything. No question. I generally avoid Unicorns as species which is why my OC is a earth pony. I feel they are unexplored and actually have issues physically and magically.

Oh I wasn't talking about the show (Sorry for the confusion) Also their is a difference between something being a Mary Sue like the characters you mentioned and a race being overpowered in comparison with the other two breeds on a general basis

I think it's because people just love the idea of magic and spellcasting. Maybe because people really like characters being overpowered. I mean, even I imagine myself being all powerful and making whatever I want appear and what not, but after all this hate towards Mary Sue OCs I should probably stop.

They could pretty much do anything an earth pony can, with enough training, they can fly and do Magic.

It would make more sense making Alicorns the master race.

 

But with Magic, you have endless possibilitys.

You could create a Spell for pretty much everything.

So, you should be able to give yourself Wings or be as strong as an Earth Pony, simply with spells.

Which makes Unicorns obviously the best choice...i think.

Kind of, your average unicorn can only perform basic spells like basic telekinesis for example and maybe some magic related to their special talent if it applies like Rarity's gem finding spell for example but very gifted unicorns can do certain things most other unicorns can't like Starlight Glimmer being able to levitate for example. This gives unicorns a level of potential that is a bit higher than the others, yet much fewer can achieve this potential than they could for the potential that pegasi and earth ponies have because it is set so high.

Well of course they are. Even if the average unicorn cannot perform what a unicorn skilled in magic could, they can practice, and achieve things an mere earth pony can only dream of achieving. Not even pegasi can compare.

 

Does this entitle them to enslave the inferior pony races? Of course not.

Even if supposedly one is a member of the 'master race'.  Overpowered, super strength, mary sue powers and blah blah blah.

 

You should still treat the less fortunate with dignity and respect. Princess Celestia is far more mighty than a mere unicorn, but is still a very friendly and compassionate pony over all.  

 

The alicorns are the 'master race', if you go by power. They are all three races combined. If these all powerful alicorns go around being bullies to the lesser ponies and killing them, than they are jerks.

 

If you are the Overpowered One, you should be helpful to the less fortunate. Otherwise, you're just another evil overlord. 

 

Celestia and Luna want to be loved not feared. They want them to see them as guardians of the weak and beacons of hope against evil.

 

The kind of compassion on a level that would take care of a lost and scared human child (somehow got there) in their world.

No. Unless every unicorn excels in magic, like Twilight does, then they CAN'T do everything, and are not the master race. Magic is learned through study, practice, and dilligence, so every unicorn in the race are. Not. Master. Of. Anything. Collectively speaking.

They rely on earth ponies to grow their food, and pegasi to control the weather. Bottom line- if unicorns were the master race, we would't see pegasi or earth ponies at all, because unicorns do it all. But they don't.
