First of all, that's how Spy's class is supposed to play. Sneaky, cunning, and getting you when you least expect it. Problem with that is, these days, everyone is spy checking, and there are few players who I've seen actually play spy decently enough. Can't go 10 seconds as Spy without someone shooting in my direction or flaming me down as a W-M1 Pyro.

Pet peeve as I said. Not a huge problem and it's not that I hate people who play spies. They just exist on the total opposite of philosophy than I do when it comes to problem solving. I think it's better that one do things openly and honestly and they are the opposite, simple as that.

Although what is the problem with spy checking? Should people not try to defend themselves against a foe they can't even see? What should pyros be the only ones that can harm a cloaked spy?

@@Steel Accord,I was just saying that the game is getting stale at this point, did you read my other points?

I did, and while I agree that the young CoD players who mic spam and create a more toxic environment are a problem. In fact I was just called a retard on this last session so I know what you mean. That's not my overall experience with the game which has been more fun than drudgery.

@@Steel Accord,Not the thing on Spies, the other ones, where I pointed out why I am dissatisfied with the game.

I already answered, in turn . . .

Also, the community has been terrible for me, everyone messes around, conga-ing and not doing the objective, also as I said, all the latest updates since End of the Line have been garbage. End of the Line was gimped of a map, had a few cool new weapons, after that though, the game just went even further down. Two of the big updates last year were literally the same thing, Boring contracts with reskins of old weapons. Also, all the useless taunts they keep adding that add nothing to the game. And in my opinion, the game has been declining, albeit slowly, since it went free to play, adding tons of cosmetics and hats.

That's not a problem, people should be spy-checking, but what I mean is that it seems like even a really talented spy gets caught in the most unusual situations. The entire game is basically anti-spy nowadays.

What the conga line stuff? I love that they added that, and in different variations! It's fun. It doesn't happen every game either and it's usually only like four guys at max before the fight begins. Just in my experience.

I don't really track the updates as each new thing, so I suppose there is stuff I've missed but just as I've been playing, still the same mayhem, still the same objectives, still the same fun as when I first started playing.

Well that's not the fault of the game, that's just combat awareness of the players. Last I checked, they didn't give the soldier spy seeking missiles and engineer machines still can't detect spies. I mean what's the logic here? I'm going to get mad at a sniper for shooting me when he saw me making my way to the control point?

Elitists. Is that hard too just play a game for fun anymore?

I'm totally with you there. I play TF2 for the wild mad cap battles and occasional dance party as of late.

@@Steel Accord, I dunno, my experience has been miserable. But if you're having fun, then more power to you. The game is just not good for me anymore.

As for the spy thing, I suppose you have a point. Spy's just harder to master now, and the community has become more aware of the class since the game came out.

Well the game is pretty well known at this point. Again, I don't see that as "doomed" as it means more people are likely to play it. Part of that knowledge is understanding of what the classes do and how they operate. It's only natural that at some point in the game's life span, people who have been backstabbed are going to be checking their corners more often because experience is just experience.

The game after The End of the Line update. When it really started to show Valve doesn't care anymore. Also, bullshitting on a map release. No new weapons, rehashed updates, stupid "contracts" which I am now certain will be a coming thing every so often at this point. New modes that are garbage, and interesting ones still in "beta". The "Team" in Team Fortress 2 is anything but these days, the game is overriden with those young CoD players that constantly micspam and curse at you when you get a good kill.  Shame, the game was amazing when I started playing.  I haven't played in a few or so months, and I don't plan on getting back into it ever again. Matchmaking can't even save the game at this point, it's doomed.

Maybe Valve is pushing TF2 in a different way than you want it to be.

*spreads hooves out creating a rainbow inbetween them* Optimism!

Ok this topic is derailing into an argument about Old VS. New and I don't think I want it.

Even though I think the argument fizzed itself out at this point, any more arguing would be better in the Debate Pit.

Thanks,

Lonk Chase

Eh, I have little optimism left for the game, and it seems like Valve has gotten lazy with the game now. :P

I definitely agree with you on that point. It seems Valve is only focused on hardware at this point. They push some updates to their popular games to try to keep the fans happy, and they keep adding time-suckers to hold the crybaby veterans off. But at this point, hardware is the goal. Get the Vive out, get the Vive out, GET THE FREAKIN' HTC VIVE OUT.

After they do that, I only hope they give these games their full attention again.

But they'll probably just move on to Source 2.
