Would it be weird naming a child after a character in a show about pastel colored horses? I mean, there are some MLP names that would work for girl names, such as Starlight (Star would be her nick name) for a first name and Glimmer as a middle name. Another example would be Twilight Sparkle. Twilight (Twi would be her nick name) would be her first name and Sparkle would be her middle name. I don't know, let me know what y'all think below! :D

I personally wouldn't name a child after a pony, but I have no doubt that someone will eventually, if not already.

Twilight Sparkle to me does sound like a stripper name..... just saying.

and i have thought of this before.

Some of the names would be neat.  Lyra (Also in one of my favorite book series.  The Golden Compass)

Octavia (Tavi)

Parents name their kids all kinds of crazy names. Naming one after a fictional character has been before, and namingone after a prismacolor pony certainly wouldn't be the worst thing.

I can see "Cherilee", "Celestia", "Rarity", and "Cadance" being used for human names.

If  you name your child after a cartoon character, you do not deserve to have children. These are human beings who have to live with these identities for the rest of their lives, not pets. The fact that people even consider such a thing is disgraceful. You don't deserve to be a parent if you can't take your kids naming seriously. It's one thing to like a name after hearing it on a show, but naming you kid after characters is idiotic. It's even worse if you give them an obvious reference to a cartoon.

If anyone names their kid "Pinkie Pie" you literally should have your children taken away.

Yeah, it does sound kind of like a name of a stripper. Then again so does Starlight Glimmer and Sunset Shimmer. Lol! :D

Yes, Yes they do.  And i would feel sorry for the kid named after Derpy, Big Mac, and Vinyl.

What do you think of a kid named Luna ?

It's equally as stupid and shouldn't have happened.

I was thinking Octavia/Tavi would actually be a relatively nice name, I mean, it would be a little weird.

Harsh.  People have given stranger names to their kids.  I can be a pompous moralist too and say that people who smoke should not be allowed to have kids.

I'm pretty sure most bronies are incapable of having children, anyway.

Bite me. I served in the military, I have seen some crazy shit. Yes I'm a Brony, but I have more balls than you.

( I know your kiddin, I'm not mad, just a joke)

I think Octavia would be an awesome name.

Yes, let's blame the victims instead of the intolerant bigots who don't like things that are "strange".  Got bullied for having a silly name like Richard Butt?  Parents' fault; shame on them for giving their kid a name like that.

The victim is the kid, not the parents who were stupid enough to name them something that they know full-well will open them up to criticism. In spite of what they think of the name there is ALWAYS going to be someone who will make fun of them or bully them for it if it's outlandish enough.

Not approving of a bully's behavior won't stop them from doing what they do. Or stop another one from coming along. You're setting your kid up for it regardless of your intentions.

On top of that you're naming your kid for something YOU enjoy. It's not fair to open your kid up to those kinds of circumstances over your own ego.

Give them a normal name, or at least one that sounds normal on the surface, and let them decide for themselves if they want a different name that means something to them.

The fact that there's already 3 votes for yes is depressing.

I voted yes. Not because of the characters but because I like the names some of them have.

Lyra, Octavia, Luna, cadence(never naming a child that, long, dirty story), spike (more for cowboy bebop tho)

And why is it depressing?  What are you expecting on a brony site?  Tolerance?  **Gasp**, we can't have that!

Having intercourse with multiple random people?  Oh sure, fine.  Giving your child a name that is also the name of a fictional character?  Nope, we're taking your kid away now and sending them to a concentration camp.  Because this is a dictatorship, and we decide what your kids can be named.

Orgies are a personal choice and only affects those who are taking part in it.

People are identified by their name. It can and will affect their lives. Not just in the people they meet but in the way they view themselves. They'll see all the Toms, Dicks and Harries and wonder why the hell they're the only ScarletSpin in the entire world and why they had no choice in the matter.

No. I would not name my kid after an MLP character.

A few would be nice names for a person. However, most of them sound like they could be stripper names.

That and I just don't like the idea of naming my kid after a cartoon pony.

I met a puppy named Octavia once. They make great names for pets.

That opens up conversations about what is "normal" and why we as individuals must be subjected to the will of "normalcy".

One should at least be given a chance to be normal before they go off the grid, though. Giving a child a legal name that is anything but normal is going to send them immediately into the outcast group.

Idk, I can see myself naming a pet a pony name but not my own child. Maybe as like a middle name just to be funny but I'm pretty sure my baby daddy would say no if I had one.

Not really sure any more.
