Shouldn't Shining Armor have some kind of paranoia for Changelings?

Still not sure how Chrysalis put Cadance down there and slipped into the scene but shouldn't Shining Armor have some kind of paranoia on Changelings now? After he got possessed by Chrysalis it put the whole royal city at risk.

Not to be a grammar nazi, but "paranoia" means an irrational fear of something or someone without sufficient evidence or justification. In this case, I think the fear would be justified.

Moving on, though, fear is a rather difficult thing to explain in terms of psychology due to the fact that who fears what varies widely. One of the most common fears is fear of death or subjugation, both of which the Changelings are certainly capable of, however, people can overcome such base instinctive fears and press on, and if we assume that the show's ponies have human psychological reasonings, then there is a likelihood that Shining Armor is among the group who can set aside fear of death.

"Time is just an illusionary factoid that all natural things are bound to. It has the power to crumble even the mightiest of mountains into little more than dust, yet if it is an illusion, why is this so? Because people waste a lot of time, only wishing they had more. Little do people realize an inescapable fact: Time governs those who wish they had more of it. By wishing you could use it better, you govern time, and you can get all the time you'll ever need." — Starfall, Quillwaver

Yeah, he probably hates Changelings.

...Actually, no, he seems like the type to just hate Chrysalis. He'd probably let himself get tricked by another Changeling queen.

I'm speaking of being paranoid of anyone in general that could be a changeling. That could include ponies that aren't changelings.

I would say Cadance would also have a bit of a paranoia on changelings as well.

Perhaps he did for a while, but I think over time he'd realize that instead of being paranoid, he just needs to be well informed and well prepared. He'd probably figure out a way to be able to tell who might be a changeling and then teach it to the rest of the guards, so that there would be better security.

@@cider float,

I don't think so mainly because neither he nor Cadence have any reason to suspect them. Sure the Changelings could change into anypony but the only one who used that talent for outright infiltration was Chrysallis herself, the rest of them were right outside the shield bashing away completely in the open. They only disguised as a matter of confusing the Mane Six when directly confronted and the only other changeling we saw in "Slice of Life" didn't even bother with disguise.

So I think we can assume that changelings, on the whole, aren't very smart and require their queen's coordination to operate effectively. I would expect a good deal of PTSD from both of them about Chrysallis in particular as she was the bane of both their lives. Kidnapping one and stealing her life as she's helpless to do anything about it and subverting the other's love for his bride to be in order to hurt that bride.

If anything, I wouldn't expect paranoia as much as wrath, and not just from him. Apart from that, no, I don't think Shining nor Cadence should feel paranoid about changelings.
